This is a fabulous property, well managed and maintained in a friendly, accommodating way. Right on the Uncompagre River! Bathrooms with private showers, immaculate. Fire pits clean and spacious. Protected from winds, feels away from it all, the campground is among the best we’ve enjoyed.
We stayed here for 2 nights and cannot say enough good things about this park. The grounds were so well cared for. The restrooms, showers and laundry room were immaculate every time we entered them. We had a back-in space next to the river so we were able to have the sound of rushing water flowing by. Each time someone leaves they rake the rock. It was quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend!!
We had planned to stay 3 nights but were so happy with our campsite on the river that we stayed 6 more nights! The grounds are well kept. We had a back-in site and could hear the river rushing by. The laundry room, showers and restrooms were always clean, We will definitely return to this RV campground. Thanks !
Kirby met us as we rolled in the gate and made check-in easy. In under 5 minutes, he'd helped us back in to our site and delivered wood for a campfire overlooking the river. The facilities were pristine and very modern. The site was perfectly level and spacious. The grass was green and lots of pretty flowers planted around the grounds. Black Canyon of the Gunnison - go there if you haven't already! - was our main reason for staying in Montrose, and it was an easy 30 minute drive (watch for road-work M-F though).
Loved our Cabin B by the river. I call it a "tiny house" but it was cute, clean, everything you need. Loved the sound of the river right next to it. Lovely view. Can walk along the river. Campground is very clean and quiet. Secure gate in and out. Highly recommend and a visit to Black Canyon of Gunnison is worth the visit

The only reason not 5 stars is that this park needs to upgrade the 'store' to include more basic supplies. It's a plus, of course, with the more remote location/scenery but it also means if you need anything you're pretty much out of luck - especially for a bicycle tourist (me!). However, quite pleased with the cabin I booked - perfect view being right on river. Reasonable charge, bathrooms good condition, ambience great (except for some bone-headed RV owner that decided to start up his home at 7 in the morning; I was in already up and moving so not bothered but felt bad for others next to him and his mammoth vehicle).
Absolutely lovely! The cleanest, most organized, peaceful RV and cabin spot I’ve been to. I rented a tiny house here and it was spotless inside and out. Very friendly hosts as well. Nice little dog area with shade where the pups can be off leash. Incredible gardens and hanging baskets! I like the gated entry and feel very safe here as a solo female traveler.
First of all, the campground is beautiful with all of the flowers in pots and hanging baskets. Love the gated entrance. Staff all very helpful and available. Showers very nice, but could either use another hook or a small table to put things. Someone else had mentioned sites being a little tight...my observation was in the middle, they might be a little close, but all of the perimeter ones were fine. Having a dog park was nice and so many areas near by to walk the dog was perfect. Black Canyon is a must see, drive to Ouray for some spectacular scenery and eat at the Timberline Deli. Box Canyon in Ouray is very cool as are the Cascade falls. Also some nice trails by the Curranti National Recreation area. Will come back for sure!
It's not often a place meets and exceeds your expectations. Riverbend RV Park easily did that for us. Excellent check-in experience. Lots of well maintained gravel roads for maneuvering into our RV site. Good space for our motorhome and parking our tow vehicle. Lots of beautiful well maintained trees throughout the entire park. Landscaping was great. River easily viewed from most areas of the park. Security gate very wide and nice to have limited traffic through the RV sites. They do have cabins and a lodge for rent which appear very nice from the outside. Plenty of shade, beautiful baskets and pots of flowers everywhere. The staff was exceptional. There was someone always visible either working outside or traveling between sites checking on residents. We had planned on staying 3 nights but extended our stay an additional 3 nights. Wish we could have stayed longer. We have all ready made reservations for next year. Thank you Riverbend staff you were all so friendly.…
