We were just passing through and needed a place for the night. Checked in after 10pm and were gone by 8am. It was clean, the AC worked great, and the water pressure was decent. We paid $70 including tax for a room on a Wed night- can’t beat that. They even had the breakfast room open, but they only allowed 6 or 8 people in at a time. We were in a hurry so didn’t have time to wait when they were at capacity, but I appreciated the option.

Stayed one night. Good location close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. I had specifically requested a room without connecting doors, and sure enough I was given a room with one. I understand that special requests are not guaranteed, but most decent hotels make an effort to accommodate them. I was then moved to a room on the second floor (no elevator) and found out that the sink drain was clogged: someone had dropped a water bottle cap and a toothpaste tube cap. How housekeeping didn't notice is beyond my comprehension, since the water wasn't draining. Evidently they didn't clean the sink. I also found the coffee maker with a used coffee filter pouch still in it and the carafe still filled with old coffee. Eventually the front desk employee was able to clear the sink drain.
The room was otherwise ok and reasonably quiet. Comfortable bed and pillows. Amenities included microwave and refrigerator. Bathroom with everything in working order. Shower with good water pressure.
Slow wifi.
Easy parking.

We stayed overnight at the Stay Wise with 2 adults and 2 children. I'll begin by saying the staff are friendly, personal and working their tails off. The same ladies are working the front desk, serving breakfast due to COVID restrictions and cleaning rooms. They can't possibly be everywhere at once and are stretched too thin, in my opinion. The hotel needs updating, seriously. The chair in our room should have been removed years ago as it was literally falling apart and stained. See my pictures, and others reviews of the furniture. I was embarrassed for the hotel. The bathroom was tiny, dark and we didn't attempt to use the shower. Our kids hoped to use the pool, but after seeing the condition of the property there was no way they wanted to try the pool. With some TLC this property could be great but until then I would recommend staying elsewhere. They have wonderful staff and that is the only saving grace.

The staff were very pleasant at check-in. Our room was comfortable with a refrigerator and microwave. It had a slight pipe smoke smell, but the front desk thought it was due to an old smoking room next door so we didn’t bother changing rooms. The bathroom was fairly tiny, but serviceable. Even with the COVID-19 restrictions in mind, the staff manages to serve you a full hot breakfast. Only 8 guests at a time are allowed in the breakfast area. The servers pour you coffee or hot tea and then make you waffles or omelets (choice of ham, cheese, green peppers, onions, and salsa). They also had cereal (raisin bran or fruit loops). We enjoyed a nice hot breakfast like we had been used to before most the hotels started serving us pre-packaged breakfasts.

I am not sure how this hotel got such high ratings with Travel Advisor and Hotels.com only reason I am giving it a poor rating and not terrible is because the beds were comfortable and shower was good. The front desk agent wasn't friendly, never mentioned breakfast times, parking etc when we checked in. Sign on the front desk said pool was closed. Towels and washcloths were paper thin and felt like sandpaper. Washcloths were about the size of a sanitizing wipe cloth. No elevator due to older hotel. A very long staircase to carry up luggage. Lobby stairs needed vacuuming, outdated furniture in lobby, housekeeping laundry being done behind front desk with door open. All employees were in street clothes. WiFi in and out. Breakfast was cereal and bagels. The entire hotel had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed here when we were in the area exploring Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The room was spacious, the bed (king) was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed the pool and spa after our day in the Park. The breakfast the next day wasn't as advertised on their website (no waffles or omelettes) due to Covid concerns, but what was provided was certainly adequate. For the price paid, this was an outstanding value. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel rooms are quite comfortable. There isn't an elevator so if you are elderly or have heavy bags you might want to find someplace else. The stairs are at the end of the hall way so if your room is down the hall you'll have some walking to do. Once you get to your room you'll find it clean and comfortable. The hotel is near the National Park so if you are going to see that or the Museum it is a great launch point.

The A/C in our room barely worked it was pretty warm in our room all day and night. The pool smelled like wet dog. However the beds were fairly comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The free breakfast was decent but I got harassed for taking two omelettes even though one was for my mom who was staying in the room. The TV in our room had 90% of the channels in blind description mode and it could not be turned off. 5% of the channels were overdubbed in Spanish and it could not be turned off either. That left news and sports.

This is one of the worst places that I have stayed at, my company books us in hotels around the country for work. the manager Linda at this establishment is very rude, very accusatory. Does not like to address a problem with myself or the other customers that are staying there instead goes through the company and is very slanderous, I did not appreciate the defamation of character that she presented to my company. And when she found out that it was rooms across from mine that were filthy and destroyed that had nothing to do with our company she didn’t even offer an apology to our company or us for that reason alone we will definitely be pulling out of there I’m going to a better establishment with people who have better customer service skills. I am appalled at How this whole situation was handled I hope in the future the manager Linda handles things much better and learns to swallow her pride and apologize when she has been wrong.
