Enjoy your stay in Montrose!
My husband and I felt like we were visiting family. We stayed in the carriage house, a roomy casita with a large bedroom, very large bath and a well stocked Kitchen. Nice porch with chairs and a private drive. The breakfast was extraordinary, we were never hungry till dinner. Kendra, the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Am looking forward to returning here soon!
We had a very nice first time to Montrose time. We stayed in the Carriage House that gives you a bit of privacy with full cooking facilities. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning. She was flexible to arrive between 7am-10am. Great omelets and fruit. It was nice to have a no wheat, no carb selections for breakfast. We will try for another visit next September. The tree colors are at their best. We had a great time at the Black Canyons, playing golf and eating out.
My wife and I had a fantastic stay for 3 nights while golfing and looking at the autumn leaves on our trip to Montrose. The Canyon Creek B&B was wonderful. From the delicious breakfast, afternoon wine and comfortable room to our friendly and welcoming host (Kendra) we are very happy to recommend a stay here. We hope to be back in the future. We even viewed the Homecoming Parade from the porch.
Perfectly appointed, very clean and inviting. Kendra (proprietor) saw to every detail from bathrobes to wear to the jacuzzi and evening wine. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and again, Kendra was the ultimate hostess. Excellent location within walking distance to restaurants and bars. We wish we could have stayed longer!
I’ve thought long and hard about how to write about our experience. June 2020, pandemic time, so I searched for lodging that was free standing and would be contactless for checkin and otherwise. Communications with the owner addressed my concerns. Thus, when we arrived 20 minutes before the “assigned” checkin time of 3 pm, I was shocked to find the owner in the unit, no mask, wiping up the floor. I thought short term rentals required a rest after cleaning and before checkin. That wasn’t the worst of the property — it was extremely dirty. It had not been cleaned from the previous guests. The counter tops had spilled dried coffee on them, the bathroom counter was filthy, the mirrors had splashes from other people, the bedroom was dusty, the microwave was a nightmare. Frequently touched surfaces had obviously not been cleaned. The freezer had someone else’s frozen open food in it. I could go on but you get the picture. Even in non-pandemic times, this place would have gotten a bad review from me. As a last comment, calling this a “carriage house” is so kind — it is a garage that has been converted. There is not a nice view or anything lovely about it. Many things to look at and go “hmmmmm”. I do give the owner credit for giving us a minor amount of money back since we had to do so much cleaning. She said we should have said something; well, you now that’s an awkward situation. She could have moved us? How would we know that? How would we trust another place she has? Sorry.....…
My husband and I recently stayed at Canyon Creek B&B for one night while visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. We really enjoyed this B&B, and it was a good value. After a day of driving and sightseeing, the house was a relaxing, inviting refuge. We enjoyed unwinding with complimentary wine on the back deck. The microbrewery down the street was a handy place to walk to for a casual supper. We stayed in the Chapeta room, which was immaculately clean and soothingly decorated in blue, white and wood tones. The bed was very comfortable and the shower in the private en suite bathroom was great. The bedside USB hub was a welcome feature. Kendra, the owner, was very friendly and helpful with local information. She cooked a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and an omelette, and we enjoyed chatting with her about the history of the house. We would happily stay here again!…
Kendra has years of experience in the hospitality business and it shows in her Canyon Creek B&B. The house is a tastefully refurbished historic house with modern conveniences (like private bathroom, wifi). Clients have their choice of hearty, healthy and delicious breakfast choices and the conversation over the meal was fun with her and the other guests. We really enjoyed her monthly comedy show she produces and took advantage of Black Canyon (spectacular!) and the Ute Indian Museum. Oh, and did I mention the complimentary evening wine?
Kendra went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Room was clean and very comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and hospitality was all one could hope for. The patio in the back of the property is lovely!
This lovely home is inviting, friendly, and calming. After a busy day, a glass of wine is waiting, your room is cozy and well appointed and the back porch and hot tub make you feel like you are at a spa. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
This house is the best. Downstairs living room and sitting area are very inviting. Sitting on the front porch on Saturday night was fun. Kendra has a beautiful spirit and makes you feel comfortable. Definitely will stay there again.
