We had a wonderful experience at Black Mountain Ranch. The staff and wranglers were wonderful, the horses well-trained and the food was excellent. We loved the trail rides thru the rockies with the amazing views and the overnight camping trip. Everything at black mtn is first class. It was the best family vacation that we have ever had and we'll... More

I cannot say enough about BMR. The owners, staff and wranglers were a team and a family. With open arms they made you feel like family. For riding novices the wranglers were always helpful sharing tips to hone in your riding skills. Horseback riding through the Rockies and BMR's thousand acre ranch was unprecedented in natural beauty and camaraderie. Not... More

Black Mountain Ranch was more than a trip and more than a vacation. It was an adventure! Everything about BMR is amazing: Stunningly beautiful landscapes, excellent meals, jolly-joyous fun every day. The riding and activities are so fun but not in a way I'm going to find easy to explain. Neither I nor anyone in my family had experience riding... More

Went with my 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son - mom and our 4 year stayed home b/c the little one was too little to ride. None of us had been on a horse before, but were enthusiastic students and learned a ton. After a welcome, we strolled into the Trading Post, an honor system retail store... More

I cannot thank the May family and Black Mountain Ranch for providing our family with the most unforgettable, wonderful vacation ever!. My sister booked the trip and I must say I was skeptical - never having ridden a horse or really even loved the outdoors... call us "city slickers." I didn't give the whole trip much thought other than the... More

Black mountain ranch was the best vacation I have ever been on. When we arrived on Sunday we were welcomed by the staff and immediately felt like part of the ranch family. Our wrangler, Hali Sammis, introduced herself and got to know us that night at dinner. Her along with the other wranglers took our riding experience (which for me... More

Black Mountain Ranch far exceeded our expectations. Only our daughter rides horses regularly, and by the end of the week we were all confident riders. The riding is as much or as little as you want... but we'd encourage you to say yes to it all! It is intense riding, but an incredible experience. Who knew that in one week... More

How can BMR start so amazing, and keep getting better every year? ...It does, though. You know how vacations with a group of strangers go...there's always "that guy"... My wife and I have been there 5 years in a row...same week every year...and have never run into the same guest twice. All new guests every year, and not a single... More

My wife and I just returned from a week at Black Mountain Ranch. I completely disagree with the ratings the ranch has received. 5 Stars is a complete understatement! This place is at LEAST a 7-8 Star and might even approach 10 STARS! This was one of the best vacations we have EVER taken. Let's look at the Pro's and... More

It is said that it is hard to please everyone all the time but Black Mountain Ranch pulled it off. Not only is the ranch run by the Mays family but they are hands on in every aspect. My favorite little cow girl is Avery. Now the staff is top notch is every respect and they are very professional, knowledgeable,... More
