The attention to detail is impressive from the woodwork to the table settings to the service. We loved our clean, comfortable room. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was delicious and the selection of breakfast items was delightful. Highly recommend this establishment.

We loved this hotel! Rooms are spacious and a nice mix of period-style and modern amenities. The lobby is full of photos and items from the hotel’s early days, and a friendly worker offered us an impromptu in-depth look at some of these items. Breakfast was quite good for a buffet, and the breakfast rooms are lovely. We also enjoyed the easy walking distance to everything in the cute town of Manitou Springs. We hope to stay again!

On our tour of the most historic hotels in Colorado, the Cliff House did not disappoint. The first sight of the building is majestic, although the lawn looked unkempt and the fountain was shabby and abandoned. The lobby and the adjoining parlor were right out of the turn of the twentieth century with elegant furniture and a grand piano. We secured our room through Hotwire, so we were assigned probably the least desirable accommodations although it was a quality experience. It was furnished with fine Victorian style furniture and a clean, albeit small, bathroom. The hotel offers much more elegant and extravagant suites, but at a premium price compared to what we paid. But charging an extra $20 resort fee and $15 parking fee felt like price gouging to us. The prices are high enough already without forking over more money for what amounted to nothing extra. The valet is unnecessary as the parking ramp is ten feet from the door. The whole staff was very friendly, from the front desk to the valet to the bartender in the lounge. The complimentary breakfast buffet was more substantial than most hotels offer with limited tableside service for coffee and juice. Our only complaint with our stay was with the main dining room. It seemed unusual that we were told they could seat us at 7:30 only. When we arrived, we were the only couple in the room and four tables outside on the veranda were occupied. It took exactly one hour for our entrees to arrive after asking the server where the problem was. Apparently the priority was on the veranda diners while we sat in stone silence in the dining room. She stated that the kitchen was backed up. I will tell you the food was excellent, but I almost lost my appetite having to wait so long in an empty dining room. We also discovered that one of our menus was outdated which we didn't notice until the final bill arrived with my steak priced at $5 more than I expected. I asked to see a menu after dinner and, of course, I was given the new version. One last note, there was a gentleman with a suit and tie who we assumed was the manager of the hotel, literally pacing back and forth down the halls and into the dining room at least 25 times which seemed a little creepy to us as he never acknowledged us or greeted us. The whole dining experience just took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable evening at the Cliff House.

What an amazing experience from check in to check out. First timers, but not last timers…every detail was perfect and the historical rooms are amazing. Daily breakfast and service was 5-star and kudos to all the staff/chefs. Looking forward to our next visit! Many thanks to the valet/front desk staff who always greeted us with smiles!!

The location is excellent and the hotel is very nice. It's not worn-down, but it could definitely use some sprucing up and in things like wallpapering and tiling and painting, does feel like it needs a refresh. It's a little surprising that they have things like styrofoam cups wrapped in plastic, single use containers of shampoo, conditioner, and lotions, etc., and bags of coffee items that have several kinds of sugar and stirrers and napkins and creamer - wasteful if all you want is a single sugar packet. Plus, daily printed newsletters and printed bills slipped under your door for check-out, it just seems like it's not very environmentally friendly. They do offer the service of not having your linens/towels washed daily, just folded up, which is a great eco-friendly service. The valet service is great, although $15 is a bit pricey given you really don't have an option in the neighborhood where there is towing of cars after midnight. The breakfast was kind of disappointing, as it was the exact same buffet all three days we were there - it seems like they could at least change up the kind of eggs they offer or the types of pastries. The dinner menu was quite good, with some really lovely trout and a good elk chop. The staff in the dining room were very nice and the service was very good there. The room we had was quite large and had a fireplace, which was quite nice. The bed was comfortable and there was great water pressure in the shower, although it was kind of hard to step into the enormous tub to use the shower. It's a really lovely old hotel that could use a bit of a facelift. It's billed as a luxury property and it does have some luxury amenities, but it feels a little bit less than luxury.

We had a wonderful stay this past week. Our room was the Thomas Edison room. The staff was helpful and wonderful. The breakfast was nice. As usual, the valet crew was efficient and helpful-especially the lady. (I don’t know her name, but she was the best!) This was our second stay at the Cliff House, and it won’t be our last! Thanks for a great time!

This is an old hotel. "Old" can make things more interesting but also a bit of a pain. There is a bit of both here. Some of the rooms are very interesting (Check out the celebrity suites). Hot water in the shower was a but iffy, but all-in-all the pluses outweigh the minuses of this old hotel. The staff - front desk, bar, valet, dining room - are all wonderful. Great breakfast, super restaurant. One word of advice. Manitou Springs was laid out for horses and buggies, not cars! Parking is very difficult to find. Take advantage of the hotel's valet service. It will save you a lot of time and grief.

What a wonderful experience we had at the Cliff House! The staff was amazing. Each and every person we encountered was so friendly. The breakfasts were so enjoyable and the food was delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Both nights of our stay we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar and conversation with the bartender and other patrons. (The honey siracha wings, YUM!) Would recommend this hotel over a chain a MILLION times. The charm and character, the location, and the attention to detail. You feel like you stepped back in time to what a hotel should be!

The staff at this hotel are awesome and the location is prime. Close to restaurants, shopping and activities. The restaurant is excellent and we had great meals there. However the hotel is dated in a lot of areas. Very small bathroom, torn drapes. It could use an update, but it has a lot of nostalgia. I’d still stay again.

Lovely old grand hotel with friendly staff and excellent restaurant. We came to Manitou Springs to take the cog railway to Pikes Peak. We were greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff at front desk and valet. Had a delicious dinner of elk chop and duck. Nice wine selection. Room super clean and comfortable
