We originally were going to stay in Durango on our last night in the Four Corners region, but discovered this gem not so distant in time from the airport - about an hour's drive from the west - o.k. for a mid-day departure. The facility is small, simple and a walk to the few services we needed in Mancos. We opted for the king-bed room. Very nicely decorated; well maintained and cleaned; everything worked. Fairly priced and easy on/off from Hwy. 160. Highly recommended for those whose schedules allow them to avoid the congestion in Durango's center and high prices on the outskirts.
The room was perfect, clean, microwave, refrigerator and coffee makers. Everyone staying was courteous no kid’s yelling, or slamming of doors. This place is quiet even though it’s next to the highway. Gus the dog was friendly and approachable. Plan to stay when back in the area
Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, loved the decor, felt homey. Perfect location to visit and do anything you want to do in the four corners. Wonderful restaurants nearby. I wish I could find a place like this to stay everywhere I travel. GREAT value for a wonderful stay!
This place is a total gem and amazing value in its class/price-point. I stayed for three nights, solo. My expectations were fairly modest - it is, after all, a roadside motel. And that is true - expect dated interiors, small-ish rooms, and no frills (think soap in a dispenser on the wall.) You do hear your neighbors and those in the parking lot a bit, but as most people are turning in/getting up early to do outdoor activities, it was no problem and I slept really well here. All that said, this place is 5 star, for a number of reasons: rooms are completely spotless - literally one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in, staff is extremely available and very friendly (including motel dog Gus), room is full of thoughtful touches (luggage rack, boot tray, coffee/tea/mug/ice bucket, nightlight for bathroom), heat/ac work well, shower temperature/pressure are great, wifi was strong enough to stream video, and you can park for free right next to your room. There are no interior common spaces so no need to worry about COVID. The property is also walking distance from good restaurants and right on a main road to get out for a daily adventure. I comfortably visited Sand Canyon, Mesa Verde, and Durango from here, and honestly, I wish I had skipped my two nights in Cortez and spent them here. I am already trying to plan a return trip to the area, and if I do, I will be staying at the Mesa Verde Motel.…
I did not get to stay at the motel as I had to cancel my reservation because of a COVID-19 exposure. But, during both my reservation and cancellation, I spoke to two of the nicest people. Great customer service over the phone both times! I will be booking a stay in the future.
