We chose this destination because it was close to the areas that we wanted to be in. Originally they had a strict rule about not checking in before 4 PM I called and we came at 3:30 but… The very nice young lady on the phone we had a great little chuckle. The fact that we are the only couple in the lodge seems odd to me. I feel like I could’ve possibly had a less expensive place to sleep but we thought this was cute. The room is clean and has a nice view of The mountains.

We stayed in one of the motel type rooms, while attending a family wedding. There was nothing fancy about the room. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Others in the group had their pets, which is a nice feature. The grounds are beautiful, the wedding was outdoors, weather was amazing. The arrangement of the bar area and the tent for dining and dancing was very lovely. Given the distance into town, make sure you plan ahead for breakfast!

I tried to cancel my reservation after a family emergency arose and Stone Mountain refused to give me even a partial refund despite it being a busy July weekend where they undoubtedly could have re-booked the room for another guest. I called on numerous occasions regarding a possible refund, but they either did not provide an answer, gave me the run-around by telling me to call the booking agency (who, in turn, told me to contact Stone Mountain), and ultimately told me the manager said no refund and "was mad that the employee even asked" about a possible refund. Having worked at a hotel in the past, their excuses for not providing any sort of refund were utter nonsense. While I can't speak to the quality of the rooms themselves, with so many lodging options to consider in the Boulder/Lyons/Estes Park area that are likely run by a more compassionate and understanding staff, I would think twice before booking this place.

Opened room and was immediately met with gas smell ...burner from stove left on or leaking. Told manager and without any concern or even bothering to check he said we could open windows and get a fan. I brought it to his attention that that posed a dangerous situation and was an inadequate response. He said Hotel was booked up, so he could try to get me a refund but wouldn’t be able to til after Labor Day holiday (three days later). I went outside to use my phone to try to find another hotel and He actually left the property before resolving situation to go pick up food in town! This was a matter of three minutes. Poor desk clerk had to call him twice to get him to come back. When he did, I asked again why he has to wait three days to process a refund, and he said he had to get it approved through the system. Meaning he wasn’t even guaranteeing I’d get a refund!!! All this time, I reminded him twice that there was a potential gas leak, and he still never even went to check the room. I finally called hotels.com right then and there, and they verified the refund with the manager and processed the refund in the moment. No three day delay. I’m still aghast at the apathy of the manager who as I left, still had not walked over to the room to check the situation.

My wife and I and our dog Lucy stayed here for 4 nights over the fourth of July. The staff is friendly and attentive. The area around the resort is stunning. We stayed in room#12, one of their pet friendly rooms. It had recently been totally remodeled. Nice king bed, very clean, virtually everythig in the room is brand new. Shower got hot water right away which surporised us. Only room for improvement I would offer would be night stands on both sides of bed, not just one and a table of some kind so you can eat, hangars would be nice also. Overall we are glad we stayed here. Thanks!
