We pull in at 4:09pm, check in is at 4pm, a guy was leaving and yelled out his window, you checking in the keys are in the box....okay. he drives off. We get to our room, it's dark, cold and unsettling. As we bring in our stuff we start noticing the dead bugs on the floor, flies and spiders and moths. Ewww. So I grab some tissue and get it cleaned up. We notice a stain on the bedspread, gross. We ended up staying but do not recommend this place unless you like little spiders creeping around up the walls and moths coming in from who knows where. OH and you only have wifi if you have a hotspot! So hope you like to be unconnected during your visit!
Wish I could give ZERO STARS!!!! I reserved cabin #18, the pet friendly one advertised with a fenced yard. It was over $200.00 per night. There was NO fence, it was torn down. I called the office and Chris said he would speak with the owner since it was FALSE ADVERTISING and of course no one returned my call. Furthermore, here is what was wrong -no soap to wash hands in bathroom -no light bulb in light by bed -no batteries in the remote for the TINY tv -red stains on the carpet that look like blood -chunks of the blinds were missing -nasty stain in bathtub -many BUGS in unit, there were ALIVE -there was a wedding and they were very loud in the late evening so it was hard to sleep -they don’t HARDLY EVER answer the phone
This place is terrible😣 not a touch of love or attention to anything but white walls and a highway 🛣 out front. This place was a sanatorium for 100 years and feels like it. I was calling it the Bate’s Motel before I found out it was! The owner has turned this place over to his son who is also clueless as dad I would gather. They have a strip of twenty run down units that have the feel of an accident architecturally and it goes downhill from there. I have a retreat center in Hawaii and was amazed at the lack of anything to do with hospitality from these folks. Don’t go, just save your time and money. The town of Lyons is just a few miles away and has some good lodging. Run 🏃♂️ don’t walk from this place😖
I chose the lodge for our wedding because it was a gorgeous venue. We booked over 9 months in advance. Communication with Ashley is impossible she doesn't return calls or emails. She changed our end time 6 weeks out and never presented us with a new contract or a partial refund. She never provided us a walk through. I left her seven voicemails Monday and seven Tuesday before the wedding on Friday and emailed her also. The communication got so bad my dad went up there and they didnt answer the door. She was a ghost the week of the wedding, the day of the ceremony. Ashley is unprofessional and impossible to work with.

You will NOT get a cabin, these are FALSELY ADVERTISED, you will get a room in an older strip hotel. There is no cell service there. My room had NO REMOTE, the phone didn't work, my cell didn't work - your's won't either, no/partial internet, and there is no desk clerk to complain to about not having a remote. If you like sitting in your room alone with nothing to do, well this is the place for you.
I was in Estes Park for the Rocky Mountain Half Marathon and 5k. Wanted to stay near Estes Park as it was a weekend event. However, then I went to the Stone Mountain Lodge after finishing my 5k on Friday evening I discovered there was no power, no water, and no staff at the office to check in. I called the number listed and the manager told me the power had been out for hours and there was nothing he could do. He could have called and informed his guest there was no power and offered a refund. However, he just said there was nothing he could do. He offered nothing to make it right. Needless to say, I checked out and found another hotel
I stayed at the Stone Mountain Lodge for 6 months and was super pleased with my stay. I stayed in multiple rooms while there and have to say cabin 21 was the coolest. The scenery was amazing. Less than 2 miles to town. 20 miles to both Boulder and Estes Park. 8 miles to Longmont. Cant beat the location! The staff was amazing, very helpful. I miss this place!
We chose this destination because it was close to the areas that we wanted to be in. Originally they had a strict rule about not checking in before 4 PM I called and we came at 3:30 but… The very nice young lady on the phone we had a great little chuckle. The fact that we are the only couple in the lodge seems odd to me. I feel like I could’ve possibly had a less expensive place to sleep but we thought this was cute. The room is clean and has a nice view of The mountains.
We stayed in one of the motel type rooms, while attending a family wedding. There was nothing fancy about the room. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Others in the group had their pets, which is a nice feature. The grounds are beautiful, the wedding was outdoors, weather was amazing. The arrangement of the bar area and the tent for dining and dancing was very lovely. Given the distance into town, make sure you plan ahead for breakfast!
