Cherokee Park is in a very remote location. You should know there is no cell service, Wi-Fi, tv or radio. That was a problem for some people. The food is very good, served plated with no buffet. The staff is very friendly and will do everything they can to make your visit good. The riding is for all levels, but was especially appreciated by advanced guests. We visited in August and my only complaint would be there are no evening activities. After dinner everyone goes to bed and its lights out. But after a day riding at altitude the extra rest was needed.

Property's Favorite Review
Have stayed at several other Colorado dude ranches and this one is on par. However, this is the friendliest ranch we have stayed at. Loved that the gratuity was included and the friendliness seemed genuine - not just hoping for a bigger tip! We especially enjoyed Ana (wrangler), Kaylee (kitchen staff) and Granger (all around helper). The food was excellent and plentiful - and the staff did accommodations for preferences easily and without making a fuss. The Campton Suite was rustic, cool & comfortable - we did use the fan! However, long after dinner folks would sit on the patio & chat. Our windows were directly above the patio & the sound carried perfectly into our room - we may as well have been sitting at the table with them. We did get the staff to ask folks to go somewhere else when they closed down the kitchen. We rode horses, fished, hiked, swam in the pool, sat in the hot tub, chatted and rocked on the porches. It was so relaxing and easy. We loved it. One note - it would have been nice to have had the fishing guide still available...

Stayed at the ranch from Aug 20-26, and I’ve never felt more refreshed and full of gratitude after a vacation! I visited with my mom, aunt, and cousin. We love everything about this place! I was worried about unplugging for a week, no cell or wifi, but after one day - work and the outside world were the furthest thing from my mind! The horses and the rides are incredible. I rode River all week…such a sweet boy, and did everything I asked of him. I felt safe and comfortable on every ride, but also exhilarated as we navigated tricky terrain and loped through this mountain paradise. The entire staff is amazing, and you feel like a big family after you leave. Great food served everyday…a variety of healthy, sweet and savory, all with fresh ingredients. We stayed in the Outlaw and loved the proximity to the corral and the flowing stream behind us. I cannot wait to go back next year!

Great great place to have a family vacation. So many fun things to do for kids of all ages and adults too. The people who work there are wonderful. The food there was great. Our whole family, us, our children, and grandchildren each enjoyed it immensely. We shed tears on leaving it was so magical.

We had been to Cherokee Park almost a dozen times, but over a dozen years ago, so weren't sure if it would still be as magical as we had remembered- it was, and then some! The family owners are salt of the earth, they always have excellent staff and the riding is beyond compare! We stared here eons ago because they have the best program for children in the country- they will be entertained all day. No cell phones or computers, just nature at its best. You will want to return the moment you have to leave this paradise in the west.

Private family cabins with basic amenities. No TV and selective internet making family time together meaningful. Hearty meals served to family tables in the main lodge. Every day provides a different choice of activities for children and adults. Primary focus on riding horses through the Northern Colorado countryside. Staffed primarily by enthusiastic college students interested in horses...additional staff very friendly and sensitive to family needs. Great planned activities for kids from 3 up. Every evening provides a fun activity. Thursday "guest rodeo" a highlight.

There were twenty members of our family that met at Cherokee Park Ranch for a family vacation and it ended up being the best time! The wranglers and staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and bent over backwards to insure our stay at the ranch was great. The meals were excellent and they prepared diet-specific meals for those in our family that needed them. There were plenty of activities every day and you could participate in as many or few as you wanted. The cabins we were in were clean, comfortable and inviting. It was amazing to watch the horses come down each morning from the pasture and just graze around the cabins until the wranglers directed them to the corral. The nature hike was fun, the right amount of time and the guide extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and the plants in the area. The square dance was a great time and we were able to meet and dance with the other guests. The daily rides offered were at the pace you felt comfortable with: walk, trot or lope. They did a great job of pairing the riders with the horses in our group so we were able to work with the same horse throughout the week. Additional riding lessons were available to feel more comfortable on horseback if needed and you could customize them to what you wanted to focus on. They were very patient and great teachers! The rodeo on the last full day was totally fun with all of the guests participating in the events if they wanted to at their own pace. The staff was the best! You do have to realize going in to it that there isn’t Wifi there and it can be challenging to stay connected to the internet, but going to Cherokee Park, there are plenty of other things to enjoy that don’t involve a cell phone, laptop or flat screen TV. All in all, we’d go back again in a heartbeat!

Our family of 5 had the best week ever unplugging from our over scheduled busy city lives. We happily slipped on our cowboy boots and spent the week riding, fishing, hiking and swinging on our porch. My kids were never bored and they range from age 15 to 9. The kids activities were a highlight for my girls and my son fished his heart out. The Prince family hires the best staff who go out of their way to make your week just perfection. We are now all expert square dancers and rodeo riders! The picturesque scenery and mountain air will stay in our senses and memories until we can return again. And, we have already rebooked! Thank you to the Prince family for the most fantastic week and for sharing their slice of heaven with us!

This has been our favorite vacation so far! The place is just gorgeous. The cabins were perfect for our family of 4. Rustic and the feel of camping with the convenience of space and our own bathroom. Entry single staff member made us feel like family. Authentic, kind, hard working people. Worth every single penny. Cannot recommend enough. Family of 4 with two kids ages 11 & 12. You can ride horses twice a day if you like. Amazing atmosphere.
