I have been to Cherokee Park many times, but had not visited the ranch since I last took my boys over a decade ago. We always had such a fabulous time, I have longed for years to return. Finally I did, solo, this September. The ranch is as wonderful as I remember. Christine and Dick are the most welcoming hosts and each and every single one of the staff, wranglers, cooks and maintenance crew, are personable and fun! Their herd of horses is the best, all well-trained and well-cared for animals. They do a great job of matching guest to horse so that you have a wonderful riding experience, whether you are an experienced rider or a complete novice. And the scenery is magnificent. I have traveled all over the world, and been to a number of dude ranches, but I will always return to Cherokee Park!

My dad took me and my sister on this trip and it was an absolutely amazing time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The horseback riding was the best part for me and going to Turkey Roost for the fajitas. Definitely a trip I will never forget and want to visit again. :)

A friend and I visited Cherokee Park Ranch for a week and enjoyed everything about it. The Wranglers, the horses, the trails, and the accommodations were exceptional. The food was good and plentiful. The cabins were comfortable and the staff provided everything we needed. Everyone was very helpful and we were entertained buy them in many ways. Lots of laughs, lots of fun, lots of wonderful experiences. We enjoyed the dogs on the property as well. The scenery was incredible from the trails and I can't say I had a bad ride the whole week. Would definitely recommend and probably will be returning myself in the next year or two. Thank you Cherokee Park Ranch for a wonderful week.

My family of four had “a Colorado Dude Ranch” on our list of vacation spots and Cherokee Park Ranch came highly recommended by a family friend. Our experience at Cherokee Park Ranch in early August 2019 was exceptional. The staff is attentive and friendly, the location is beautiful and remote, the accommodations are clean and comfortable, the food is delicious with a lot of variety, the activities are numerous and enjoyable, the horseback riding is fun and exciting, and the memories will last forever. My two kids (ages 10 and 13 at the time of our stay) loved the kids’ program, the freedom of exploring the ranch, and going on wrangler-supervised horse rides with the teens/kids from other families with whom they quickly formed friendships within essentially minutes after we arrived on our first day. My wife and I felt more relaxed on this vacation than on any other vacation we’ve ever taken… I attribute it to being surrounded by nature, being away from technology, and having the most difficult decision of the day being “Should I ride in the morning or the afternoon?”. We also really enjoyed meeting and getting to know many of the other ranch guests at the family-style meals in the lodge or during our horse rides on some incredible trails, including multiple river crossings and amazing views of the Colorado mountains. The horse-riding abilities of the guests during our stay ranged from the very inexperienced (my family) to others who seemed born in the saddle. Over the course of our week at the ranch, the wranglers did a fantastic job keeping a watchful eye on everyone, regardless of experience, and I could feel myself getting more comfortable on my horse after every ride. Our stay at Cherokee Park Ranch exceeded my expectations, and we are looking forward to returning. Thank you Christine, Dickie, Townsend, Caree, and the rest of the Cherokee Park Ranch family!

I visited the ranch in low season this September with my boyfriend after last being there in 2013 and 2014. It's just as wonderful now as it was then. The Prince family is so invested in every aspect of running their fabulous Dude Ranch and go above and beyond to ensure their guests have an amazing stay. The care and attention to detail, the personal touches, the western charm and the friendly and attentive staff make this place stand out. You will be enveloped into a community with a real family feel and will be given the opportunity to embrace disconnecting from the busyness of life and immersing yourself in the ebb and flow of nature. You won’t find internet, phone signal or a corner shop here – remember - it’s all about the western experience! Delicious meals are served in the dining room at set meal times, where you get the opportunity to chat to the other guests. Cookies and cold/hot drinks are always available (the cookies are so yummy!). You will stay in authentic, spacious, comfortable and well kept cabins (fitted with window/door screens for insects and fans are provided) each with their own unique location and perk - perhaps by the creek, overlooking the pond or close to the corral to watch the wranglers at work. Low season is perfect for those who wish to focus on riding and having some downtime to read, relax and perhaps do a spot of fishing (you will need to buy a permit online before going). High season is great for families as the ranch offer a fantastic kids programme and there are evening activities such as the square dance and the hayride and other things to do during the day if you want to give your horse a rest :). You can do morning and afternoon rides which last a couple of hours each or you can head out on a lunch ride from 10am – 3pm(ish). Team penning is also available which is great fun. All the horses have their own unique personalities and Townsend and Caree go to a lot of effort in matching you to a suitable horse. They have horses to suit all abilities, my boyfriend had never been on a horse and I’ve been riding since I was little! Townsend trains a lot of the horses himself - he's an incredibly talented horseman and knows them all very well. This means you're in great hands to improve your riding if you want to! Just ask him, Caree or any of the wranglers for tips if you need help communicating with your four legged friend and they’re happy to help. The trails are breathtaking - you can ride through meadows, wooded areas, open landscapes and of course being in the Rockies you can't escape traversing the mountains which the horses are a dab hand at navigating - you just have to trust them ;). Caree is one of the most creatively talented people I know and if you're lucky she'll get some good action shots of you on a trail. Cherokee Park Ranch isn’t just a holiday, it’s an experience which is enriching in so many ways and one you won’t forget. The words ‘Cherokee Park Ranch’ bring a smile to my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.
