Amazing find, a real heritage ranch with original cabins and homestead.
Beautiful setting on the river, below mountains and forests under huge skies and starry nights

Family welcome and friendly team, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Passionate about making sure you had the right horse and helpful with riding tips for those new to western riding

Wranglers take small groups and look after you as you climb the rocky trails and lope the meadows: articulate and interesting, conversation flows as the beautiful rides unfold

Everyday has a different activity available and you can choose what to do: from fly fishing to cattle penning; square dancing to art classes - ranch neighbours Amy & Lars are a delight

Every meal was different, delicious and looked forward to and dietary needs comfortably met

Our 6 days flew by and we were so sad to leave our new friends. Big thank you to all the Prince Family and their amazing team - we’ll be back

This ranch is an easy and pretty ride from Denver airport. The rustic cabins are set on well maintained grounds with trees and mountains all around. Our cabin accommodated 3. It was small but we weren't in each others way. It was very rustic and quaint and clean. The food was fantastic and the servers were a great bunch of college kids who were polite and fun to talk with. The wranglers were easy going and knew there way around. Our horses suited our riding skill levels and were well kept animals. All kinds of fun activities on the ranch and near by. We all agreed that we would definitely return. The Prince family was very accommodating and a fun bunch to spend the week with.

The thought of going to a dude ranch had been in the back of my mind for quite some time but when a former staff member of Cherokee Park Ranch talked about what a wonderful experience working there had been I decided it was time to schedule a vacation.

Christine and Dickey and the rest of their family and staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful time. All you have to do is ask and they will do whatever they can to make it happen.

We were able to select what we wanted to do each day, horseback riding with terrific wranglers who gave us information about the area as we rode. Beautiful scenery, wildlife sightings, calf penning, swimming, relaxed afternoons in the hot tub, and so much more.

I have not ridden in over 30 years but Townsend's well trained horses and the enthusiasm and input from the wranglers made the experience much easier than I expected. I am still amazed at the horses ability to handle those rocky trails.

Meals were an event each day. Emily did a great job planning a diverse menu. Portions were such that I had to ask for less food so that I could enjoy the wonderful desserts. All of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

The family atmosphere and devotion to the ranch and the guests made our week better than expected, would definetly recommend the experience!

There were twenty members of our family that met at Cherokee Park Ranch for a family vacation and it ended up being the best time! The wranglers and staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and bent over backwards to insure our stay at the ranch was great. The meals were excellent and they prepared diet-specific meals for those in our family that needed them. There were plenty of activities every day and you could participate in as many or few as you wanted. The cabins we were in were clean, comfortable and inviting. It was amazing to watch the horses come down each morning from the pasture and just graze around the cabins until the wranglers directed them to the corral. The nature hike was fun, the right amount of time and the guide extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and the plants in the area. The square dance was a great time and we were able to meet and dance with the other guests. The daily rides offered were at the pace you felt comfortable with: walk, trot or lope. They did a great job of pairing the riders with the horses in our group so we were able to work with the same horse throughout the week. Additional riding lessons were available to feel more comfortable on horseback if needed and you could customize them to what you wanted to focus on. They were very patient and great teachers! The rodeo on the last full day was totally fun with all of the guests participating in the events if they wanted to at their own pace. The staff was the best! You do have to realize going in to it that there isn’t Wifi there and it can be challenging to stay connected to the internet, but going to Cherokee Park, there are plenty of other things to enjoy that don’t involve a cell phone, laptop or flat screen TV. All in all, we’d go back again in a heartbeat!

I can't imagine the week being more perfect.

The pace was so enjoyable, marvelous breakfasts, morning rides through gorgeous landscapes, delicious lunches. Afternoons? What ever you want to do...trail rides, hot tub, fishing, swimming, running barrels or team pinning cattle! Another gourmet meal in the evening with lovely wine and special desserts.

The horses are matched to your ability so you can ride with confidence at whatever level you want, walk, trot, lope or gallop. They own and care for their own horses so they know their behavior very well.

I am 70 and had only been on a horse a few times in the past 50 years however, with the help of the wranglers excellent guidance, I was and galloping with the best of them by the end of our stay.

The owners were hands on and the staff were all experienced and full of personality and fun.

We were there in the late season when there were no nighttime activities which we preferred.

Families may prefer the earlier months of the summer when there are lots of family activities.

Family owned business treated us like part of the family. Great scenery and riding experience. Food was excellent and plentiful served in a western type setting.
Wranglers were all personable and professional. Your mount and riding were tailored to your riding experience, safety being a primary concern. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing with a western ranch motif.
The true "tell-tale" factor is not just our top notch rating but the fact that over half of our fellow guests were repeat customers. That speaks for itself. Our rating just adds icing to the cake.!! We too will be repeat customers!!

Coming after having seen the reviews, my expectations were pretty high. And what can I say, they were exceeded by our vacation at the ranch. Location, scenery, food, riding, nightly activities: it was a well rounded ranch program with a staff going out of their way to make our stay special. Little extras like the morning coffee delivered to your cabin door show how well they take care of the guests. Thank you very much for an amazing experience!

This was my second visit to CPR, not just because I enjoyed the first trip in June 2023 but because I knew that I would get the riding time I wanted and my husband (a non equestrian) would be well looked after when he rode and would have plenty to do if he fancied some time out of the saddle.

The Prince family have worked so hard to create an unforgettable experience for guests and it really shows. The wranglers, crew and team working behind the scenes are some of the loveliest, most hard working people I've met. Whether its baking hot or torrential rain nothing is too much trouble for them - and always with a positive attitude and smile.

The accommodations aren't "luxury" but you have all you need and everything is clean, tidy and well kept. The food is excellent (and lots of it!) and Emeline and her team in the kitchen are very flexible for any dietary requirements.

The many, many horses are well cared for and all levels of riding are catered to. If you're not comfortable with the horse you're assigned the team are more than happy to help you find one you like more. The location is breathtaking and there are varying degrees of difficulty for the trails (just a note - there isn't a great deal of flat land about so be prepared for climbs and descents!). The rodeo on the last day is a lot of fun with events for everyone.

I was a little nervous that my husband wasn't going to enjoy this trip as much as I did but I shouldn't have worried, he also thinks this is one of the best vacations we've had and talking to other guests (and new friends we've made) a lot of people agree.

If you can't already tell, I couldn't recommend Cherokee Park Ranch more!

For the first time, I went to a Dude Ranch. Always wanted to go! Cherokee Park Ranch did NOT disappoint! Christine, Dickey and the staff were absolutely WONDERFUL. Always bending over backwards to make sure your stay was worry free and enjoyable. Have a special request? No Problem! Have an issue (I didn't but listened to someone that had one) No Problem! They'll fix it and make sure you are happy. The food was fabulous! No buffets, fresh baked and prepared. I sat with some ladies that had special menu restrictions and every meal (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) they were served with the required restrictions and their meals did not lack! Most cases it looked the same, but was specially prepared for them. The rooms are cozy and each has their own full bath. The lodge is a great place to hang out and watch all the action. I sat there each evening to read and I loved interacting with both the staff and the guests that were there. The Wranglers were all very knowledgeable about the horses and will make sure you are paired with the right one for you (make sure to fill out your forms and be honest!). If things don't work out with you and your horse, they will make the necessary changes. Rides were offered every day at a pace you are comfortable with. The evening events were also fun: fire pit and singing, cow penning, mini rodeo - participation optional but also fun to be in the cheering squad. I HIGHTLY recommend this ranch if you want to have a good time, eat well, and get your horse fix in! For sure I will be visiting again in the future!

Stayed at the ranch from Aug 20-26, and I’ve never felt more refreshed and full of gratitude after a vacation! I visited with my mom, aunt, and cousin. We love everything about this place! I was worried about unplugging for a week, no cell or wifi, but after one day - work and the outside world were the furthest thing from my mind! The horses and the rides are incredible. I rode River all week…such a sweet boy, and did everything I asked of him. I felt safe and comfortable on every ride, but also exhilarated as we navigated tricky terrain and loped through this mountain paradise.
The entire staff is amazing, and you feel like a big family after you leave. Great food served everyday…a variety of healthy, sweet and savory, all with fresh ingredients. We stayed in the Outlaw and loved the proximity to the corral and the flowing stream behind us. I cannot wait to go back next year!

I'm almost sure you would still need to go out with a wrangler. There is an extensive trail system, and you could easily get lost on your own. The wranglers know their way, and honestly, they add so much to the whole experience. The staff is wonderful at tailoring your rides to your comfort level. The wrangler are just plain fun, too!

Hi there Andrea! The best airport to fly into is the Denver International Airport, a quick 1 hr 45 min drive from us. You will find all of the major car rentals available at DIA. You are also welcome to take a shuttle from the airport to Fort Collins where we will pick you up and bring you to the ranch. July & August are wonderfully colorful & warm months in Colorado. You will be comfortable in short sleeves during the day but nights are cooler and require a lighter jacket. Please call us anytime at 970-493-6522 for any more questions. Happy Trails!
