We were offered rooms on the third floor and there is no elevator, they gladly assisted with bags. The place is furnished authentically and antiques are literally everywhere. The standard queen room was quite small but doable for two. No ac. No in room coffee....More
We stayed on the 2nd floor at the Delaware Hotel with our room facing the side street where the main entrance is located. No king beds were available so we were in a room with two double beds. The room was furnished with antique furniture...More
Having read a nice pitch for the Delaware Hotel in a tourism brochure, we decided to visit Leadville and check it out for ourselves. Apparently Leadville, and this hotel have a very interesting history. The entire first floor of the hotel is commercial space, I.e....More
This is a truly remarkable historical hotel and an amazing living museum! We had the honor of meeting the owner on the morning we were leaving. His wife was passionate about her work here, sadly passing last September. The rooms were extremely comfortable, but make...More
As far as we could tell, there was only one other room occupied in this hotel.
It was not really open for business. There was no restaurant facility, the bar only served soft drinks, with no ice. The receptionist was new and had no idea...More

Thank you for your inquiry. Our most recent, extensive renovation was completed 2013, including floor reveals, room decorating, bathroom and bedding changes, exhibit changes. I say this because we are always working to improve our guest experience and meet travelers' expectations. As soon as one project ends, another begins. As an historic hotel, our goal is to create an interactive Victorian experience for today's traveler. The best description, coined by guests, is "a museum with pillows" or "an adventure in itself." All our rooms have at least 3/4-baths, unlike the 1800's when the hotel offered one common bath per floor and a tub in the basement! We are not your standard roadside inn and also do not aspire to be that. As the last of Leadville's grand Victorian hotels, we do present a unique glimpse into Colorado and American history. Presenting an extensive collection of American and European antiques, our furniture and accessories are ever-changing as collectors and lodging guests from all over the world find pieces they wish to adopt. Our goal is for every guest to find something different the next time they visit. If your passion is history and uniqueness, you'll enjoy both the Delaware Hotel and Leadville.
