Since the other reviews on the site were written, the property has changed hands. But the level of service and amenities remain great. We had the downstairs unit and enjoyed the convenience and access. Would definitely try to book here on our next trip to Leadville.

We had the 3rd floor suite, which took alot out of us just because we were not used to the altitude yet, but it was a wonderful place to stay. We had a king sized bed in one room and 2 twin beds in the other. JoAnn thought of everthing we could possibly need. It was very clean. We would...

This suit is 3 flights up at almost 12,000 feet, but worth it! Outside entrance and well equipped. King bed was awesome, bathroom shower doors are a bit awkward. Didn't want to get the floor wet and it was a challenge. Includes two twin beds in another room and a nice apartment sized kitchen. I thought it included breakfast, but...

Jaime and I love sharing our home with our guests and appreciate all the wonderful things they have written about us and our home! This house has been known locally as the Governor's Mansion since 1905 when then owner Jesse McDonald became Governor of the State of Colorado which is why we selected that name for our business. The 1905...

We stayed in the Jesse MacDonald suite of the Governor's Mansion just last weekend while we took a family ski trip to Ski Cooper. There was three of us and the accommodations were perfect for us. It's on the ground floor and has everything you need (except an oven, we discovered!). It's almost a full kitchen but not quite. No...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for our first ski trip to the area. Jaime (who also happens to be Leadville's mayor) and Jo Ann are great hosts. They were very flexible about our late arrival, took time to welcome us, and respected our privacy for the rest of the stay. The Jesse McDonald suite on the...

Thanks so much for your review! We appreciate positive feedback. There's only one error in this review. The bed in the bedroom is a queen not a full size bed. We thought it was better to have the largest bed we could fit into this cute and cozy bedroom.

We recently stayed in the Top of the Rockies Suite. We had our own entrance although the thirty six stairs were a surprise and if you have any respiratory problems this may be a problem due to high altitude. We had no problem with them as long as we went slowly. There are two rooms in suite. The main is...

We spent the 4th of July in the Top of the Rockies suite and are still in shock at how nice it was. The house is just charming and so well located for exploring in Leadville. It is a full suite with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bath with every amenity that you would need for an extended stay....

We stayed in the Top o' the Rockies Suite in mid-March. It was perfect! With two older teen sons, the dormer room off the living area was great. The master bedroom was amazing with windows on three sides, a walk-in closet, and a sitting area - a nice quiet escape to read. And while the master doesn't have it's own...

To stay in a historic house in a historic town was wonderful. The location could not be better... Owners very friendly and informative. Quiet street right by Main Street. Hope to stay there again!... You must rent bikes and do the Mineral Mine Trail Loop!

I've been coming to Leadville for a number of years skiing and hiking. We stayed in the Jesse McDonald suite for the weekend and were so impressed with the comfort and cleanliness. The owners, Jaime and Jo Ann were so cordial and helpful. They know a lot about the area and obviously love sharing info about Leadville. We loved the...
