We camp at the backcountry sites every year, and it's always a memorable experience! The state park staff have always been friendly and helpful. The men at the tackle shop are always great, as well! The hike in is manageable yet tough if you are carrying lots of firewood/cooler/etc. All of the campsites we have stayed at are quiet, removed... More

Living in Colorado, every now and then you see a heron or seagull and it is confusing, but you figure they just got really lost. But, there is a Flocks of Seagulls all around this park and it is really kind of cool. They are not pesky like on beaches and it is really awesome to see them on their... More

We arrived on A Thursday morning. The site we chose was in the Cross Creek campground, and VERY beautiful! The wind didn't show up until later that afternoon. We were all set up and our ez canopy we put over our picnic table nearly flew away. We re-staked it and lowered it so it wouldn't get the lift TO fly... More

I would've given it a lower rating, but the view makes up for so much of the bad. Cons::So, make sure you read the rules before you do anything because the ladies at the front desk don't give you any warning of anything and you may very well, end up with a fine(which we did). Don't park your car at... More

We were here with several friends for the 4th. The lake is a great place to fish, hike and just enjoy getting away from the big city! We always enjoy the beautiful skies, the stars and the overall beauty of Colorado when we are here. We hiked the backwoods trails as well as walking along the shore of the lake.... More

This location is absolutely to die for. Located ~2 hours southwest Denver Metro, it was well worth the car ride with kid asking, "are we there yet?" We stayed on the north shore and there were a number of other options as well. On this camping trip, we brought the entire family along and everyone had a great time. This... More

Being tent campers, we picked a hike-in campsite in the backcountry. The setting was majestic! The hike-in sites are pleasantly private, with a picnic table and small fire ring (some sites had grills, ours did not). Bring water and firewood, because neither are readily available. Lots of bugs, but repellent kept us almost bite-free. I tried to research online the... More

I have given Eleven Mile a poor rating and to be fair (or not) I am comparing it to the other Colorado State Parks I have visited. In comparison, Eleven Mile is very poor. To start, it isn't all that RV friendly. At the dump station there is no water. You cannot know just how valuable water at the dump... More

Lovely location west of Colorado Springs by Lake George, CO. As the name suggests the reservoir is Eleven Miles long with 9+ campgrounds scattered along the shoreline and in the forested areas overlooking the lake, Most sites can be reserved, or you can choose from unoccupied sites. There are around 140 sites at Rocky Ridge, with electricity available at some.... More

Perfect setting. At night we could hear the elk making their call. The guy running the place was super cool, we had a sweet spot right on the riverbanks. I would def recommend this campground for the nature lovers out there. remote, quiet and perfect
