Great location within walking distance of delightful Lake City, CO. The cabins were clean, well appointed, rustic and had all we needed. Hosts were cordial and accommodating. Very much enjoyed our late August three night stay at Alpine Village in 2020.
We stayed here last June 2018 and had a great experience but this year they have new managers and the cleanliness has slipped. The new managers had there two boys (older, I'd say around 14 years old) with them and they made our stay very uncomfortable. We would try to hang out outside and the boys would either come talk to us or stand around our cabins staring at us. One of them was throwing a knife at the tree right behind one of our cabins. We had four young kids with us and didnt want one of them getting hit by a flying knife! The managers (Ed and his wife) seemed to be very nice but I think they need to try to do a better job cleaning the cabins. We moved the beds away from the walls to remake the beds and discovered that they haven't cleaned under them in a long time. It was pretty disgusting. The mattresses need to be replaced, didn't get a single good nights sleep the entire time we were there, and not just me but the rest of the group as well. I'm all about rustic, but worn out is a different story. I really hope the owners see this and make some changes or unfortunately we will not be returning.…
We stayed in the best rustic cabin. I felt I had the very best experience of what I was hoping for. Cabins had all the modern conveniences and were very clean and roomy. The staff, Jennifer and Phillip were very knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions on what we could do in the village and surrounding area. I would so recommend Alpine Village. It is so homey and I just love it and I will be back next season.
We spent four days at Alpine Village in Lake City. The cabins are well-maintained, fully furnished and very clean. The view outside our front door is of the mountains and the view from the back window was mountains. They aren't fancy, and the shower in our cabin was small but more than doable. We had a full-sized refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster oven, a small oven with all the pots, pans, dishes and silverware that we needed. They have WiFi and cable-TV, if you need it. At night, you can hear a pin drop and the sky is lit up with stars. We had deer walk through our yard and sit just feet away from us. We've been told that bears have been seen walking through but didn't see one although we were told that they had already been spotted in town. The managers, Jennifer and Philip were very nice and attentive. If we needed anything, they did their best to find it or get it for us, even letting us borrow blow-dryers and blenders. If we make it back to Lake City, we would stay here again.…
If you are wanting a rustic, quaint place to stay, this is the place. The cabins are true little adorable log cabins with modern amenities. Nothing fancy, but has your basic needs. The managers are very friendly and make you feel like you have known them forever.
We rode ATV's here, from Silverton. We had lunch with our friends at the picnic table outside our front door. The owner greeted us, gave us some tips about restaurants around town, and was very friendly & helpful. The bathroom was small, with a very compact shower, but the kitchen was fine, & the bed was VERY comfortable. We had a great night's sleep in this very quiet cabin.
If you're looking for a nice basic cabin, these aren't bad. The cabins are rustic, but with all the conveniences. The beds are a bit rough to sleep on. But you're there for an outdoor adventure. The managers are very nice and accommodating.
