This was our 5th visit and it just keeps getting better! The George family makes a special effort to give each guest their best experience ever. I think I enjoyed this visit the best. Hannah, head wrangler, took special care to give us the best horses to fit our needs and desires. Latigo is our “happy place”!

My two daughters and I stayed at Latigo for eight days and seven nights over Christmas 2022. It was an amazing experience. First, you cannot beat Randy and his amazing family, They make you feel right at home. The whole experience at Latigo was actually just like home; coming home for the holidays. My daughters and I stayed in the Riata cabin, and it was amazing. Three bedrooms with a great living room and wood burning stove. There was a cord of pre-cut wood outside, plenty of fire starter, and a great porch looking out towards the Continental divide. As for the experiences on the rich, they were amazing. We checked out snow shoes, skis, boots and sleds on the first day; which were all included in the cost. The cross-country/nordic skiing was just plain amazing. Randy did an awesome job grooming the trails each morning. We also enjoyed the snowshoe trails, and had a blast sledding. There is also a really nice clubhouse on the property. The girls and I played pool, ping pong, and enjoyed the upstairs library. Now to the best part... the food! It was just plain amazing. Their son Spencer is a top tae chef, and the meals were just plain incredible. Definitely 5 star gourmet dining. Seriously, the food is so good, that you will regret going home. If we were to eat out the three meals awe had each day at Latigo, the cost would have been close to $300 a day alone for the three of us. AS a bonus, my girls loved visited the Yak heards, the the ducks and animals, as well as a special trip to see the horses they use for their summer riding program. There is also such an amazing opportunity to get to know the other guests. The whole experience felt like an extended family reunion. If there was every anything you needed from anyone at the ranch, day or night, they provided it to you. It is nice to remember what a tru all-inclusive destination vacation is all about. All in all, this was one of the most amazing trips my daughters and I have ever been on. You know it is a greta vacation, when your kid are literally crying the night you have to leave (and they are 12 and 14)! We had such an amazing time, that we booked another 4 day visit for the end of February. I cannot recommend this place more.

Latigo Ranch is truly a magical little spot nestled in the mountains. I went up for a weekend to Nordic ski, and was blown away by everything. First, the family owned ranch is legit, and run by the SWEETEST family. They could not have been more kind and accommodating. Second, the FOOD! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much in the food department from a dude ranch, but wow. I might go back just for the food. They cater to any dietary restrictions and it will blow your mind how delicious everything is. The meals might have actually been the highlight. That or the barn tour with Hannah learning all about the yaks and horses and donkeys. I can’t say enough great things about this place. It may be pricey, but it is definitely worth it. I’m already trying to figure out when I can go back for a week in the summer.

The George family has a genuine gift of hospitality to give all who come to visit. Everything is done with excellence and there is something for everyone. The food is amazing! It was my first time learning how to crack a whip and fly fish. We really enjoyed a night hike to look at the stars without the light pollution of the city. The wranglers are so friendly and taught us so much about horse riding. Country line dancing was a blast too!! The whole staff is focused on your well-being and pays attention to detail. They overheard one of the guests saying they wish they could get the recipe for one of the dishes, and the next meal, the recipe was at her place at the table. You will love this place because it is fueled by love.

Next year my scheduled visit to Latigo Ranch will be my third time I vacation at this wonderful ranch! And, I intend to continue to visit when I can.

The George family and their staff create a memorable experience for singles and families!

You will receive a warm welcome at the ranch gates when you arrive!

The week is an entire package of a genuine desire to ensure that everyone is happy through the warm hospitality every guest experiences at Latigo Ranch!

Not ranked here in any particular order as it difficult for me to single out one favorite thing during my stay because all of it is wonderful!

I am drawn by the gorgeous herd of horses, knowledgeable wranglers that accommodate various riding skill levels, and a great assortment of other activities to enjoy during your stay.

Or, you can simply do nothing but go for walks, swing on the porch swing taking in the beautiful views, and eat!

Meals are generous in portion, creative, delicious, and, beautiful in presentation - starting from the tablescape to the plated meal! Desserts are scrumptious. I enjoyed sampling wines from the extensive wine list.

Cabins are thoughtfully appointed for guests’ needs. After a day’s ride and a hearty dinner a comfortable bed and linens will provide a great restful sleep.

You may even have some wildlife visit you during your morning coffee before breakfast.

When you depart you will feel as though you acquired ten more family members through new friendships!

For me, Latigo Ranch is the place where hearts and horses meet!

Randy and Lisa run a first rate outfit. Every guest receives individual attention from food choices to what type of personality you would like in your horse. They supply you with everything, including sun screen and insect repellent. They also have cowboy hats and boots to loan, if need be. They provide excellent horsemanship instruction for us newbies, and enough wranglers to keep an eye on us during rides. And if you get tired of riding, they offer plenty of other activities to keep you entertained such as fly fishing, skeet shooting, rock climbing or river rafting. And of course you can always kick back and relax on the patio and enjoy the idyllic scenery. I would be remiss if I did not mention the food. Be prepared to gain weight! The food is plentiful and incredible!! Spencer is an awesome chef. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been trying to put to words how to describe Latigo Ranch. It’s hard because Latigo ranch in one week became a lot of different things. A five star restaurant, 5 star hotel (with turn down service and laundry options every day), summer camp with new friends. I had heard about Latigo for almost a year, with my fiancé having worked there and sister in law working there. I was told stories and how great it was. So I decided it was time for myself to experience Latigo. I had pretty high expectations, from all the stories and the $$. But when I tell you the first meal, I had I knew I had set my expectations way to low. Wow what an incredible place Latigo was. From the views to the staff knowing us by name the first second we got there. From the delicious breakfast, to the even better lunches, and you definitely won’t want to miss out on dinner, that kitchen may not look like much. But what comes out of there will make your mouth water, just thinking about it. I have to give a shout out to Randy and Lisa for being both incredible hosts, to the wranglers, wait staff, housekeeping and maintenance for all your incredible work. If you’ve made it this far in the review, I’ll tell you it was one of the most well spent vacations I’ve taken. The cost may seem a bit high but I’m telling y’all, it’s 100% worth it. Bring your kids, wife or parents something to do for everyone, even if you’re not a horse person, you’ll keep yourself occupied by the views, or library they have, and you certainly won’t go hungry I promise you that. Since it’s a review and I should keep it honest the only thing I should complain about is the hill to my cabin 😂, it made me work for my food.
From the bottom of my heart thank you for an incredible time and one of my most cherished vacations I’ve taken. Latigo has gone straight to my core memories.

Once again, Latigo Ranch showed us what a wonderful vacation should be. 2021 was our third visit; last time was 2012. As great as our recollections were about our previous visits, this most recent visit topped them all.

The basics of the guest ranch experience are there, with horseback riding opportunities every day. The staff will accommodate you with a horse that suits your experience and the type of riding you want to do — walk, trot, lope. If you wish to work on your horsemanship, the staff will give you all the attention and guidance you want — in an arena and/or out on the trail. Latigo Ranch has virtually unlimited riding trails, as they can access the adjacent National Forest. If you’re experienced and adventurous, you won’t be bored — some of the trails are a bit challenging.

The accommodations are very good — clean and comfortable, though not opulent. The meals are also good — solid, plentiful, and in a pleasant setting.

Since our last visit, Latigo Ranch has added some fun non-riding activities such as rifle and shotgun shooting as well as rock climbing. So they’re always looking to improve the guest experience.

Latigo Ranch is a family owned and operated business, and they try to make their guests feel like family. I just wish we lived closer, to make it easier to go more often.

My wife and I went for the adults-only week at the ranch and left our kids at home. We had such an incredible time. It was our first time at Latigo Ranch. Randy, Lisa, and their entire family and crew could not have been more friendly, informative, or fun. We have been on ranch vacations before. I am used to a wrangler or two knowing my name, but I was amazed that the George family and all of the staff knew everyone and treated you like family. Of course, the rides were great and you can't beat the scenery. I could go on for hours about the delicious food - I was so impressed! I own a horse and ride a lot. I have to say, the horses on the ranch are pretty incredible. I can't wait to return to Latigo in the future.

Just wow, where do I begin First, the ranch it self, cozy cabins equipped with everything you need and fresh, homemade caramel corn every day. On the ranch grounds ,they have the Social Club, a 3 story log building filled with a hot tub, pool tables, fooseball, tons of games and a library on the top floor. And then there are the views, stunning vistas of distanced mountains and valleys, not to mention the aspen filled grounds.
On top of all this they have 50 miles of groomed ski trails, thru some of the most pristine, beautiful valleys and hills.
Then there is the food.- OMG, 5 star dining, you will not go hungry here, 3 meals and snacks everyday. every meal was superb, from the first course to the last. It would take a separate review just to describe the food here.
Finally, there is the staff, from the owners, Randy & Lisa, their family to their employees. I have never experienced such service and genuine hospitality as I encountered here. Randy & Lisa, are some of the most honest, friendly and just plain nice, owners ever. You may be a stranger when you come here, but guaranteed you will leave a friend, and also 10 lbs. heavier!

Hi this is Randy George at the Latigo Ranch. The easiest way to iron out all of the details is for you to give us a call 970-724-9008. We have single bedroom accommodations and 3-bedroom ones. The single bedroom units can handle 2 or 3 guests and the 3-bedroom ones, 4-6 guests. I assume you are talking about a week-long stay in the summer. All of those mentioned are over 13 years old and are classified as adults. There are two rates depending on the time of the season. The high season rate is $3,150/person/week, and the discounted weeks are $2,775. These rates include all meals, lodging, activities, taxes, and gratuities. If you have looked at our website, you already have an idea of the activities included. Please give us a call or send us an email from the website contact page for further details.

what will the weather be like at the end of june?
Answer from LatigoRandy
2 contributions
At 9,000 ft. above sea level in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the weather can be quite variable at any time of the year. We will typically have cool nights (in the 40's) and warm days (in the 70's) with afternoon thundershowers a likelihood. However, we have seen it snowing on the 4th of July and sometimes go weeks without rain. With that said, one should be prepared for a wide range of temperatures and conditions that can rapidly change..
