We stayed here off season and it was certainly worth it. The grounds are fantastic with a great pool to chill out by. The food on site was great and the cocktails were strong! The rooms were fantastic and a private garden as well. The staff are 15/10. They were the best and super cool. Shared jokes and Jam was the best best. We were a little sad to say good bye to them all and the dog on site called Mini. Highly recommended staying here!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spice Trails. From check in to check out the staff were incredible. We ate at the restaurant multiple times and enjoyed each meal...food is delicious and good value. The room was large with a king bed and they brought in extra cots so our family could fit. Bathroom is a bit quirky with limited areas to put toiletries but that would be the only negative. Everything else was perfect for our stay...the pool, the cleanliness of our room, the dining area, the thoughtful touches in the bedroom (ie cold glasses in the fridge, extra towels, extra pillows, drying rack in the patio area, etc. When we left multiple staff members came to help with our luggage and to see us off in our van. We had a great time, thank you!
We stayed here for 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for my surfer boyfriend - a 10 min stroll to main point. Also close to lots of good restaurants and bars. It sits on the bustling Main Street but once you’re inside it’s an oasis of calm. The staff are all lovely and very relaxed. Yes, service can be a little slow but we actually really enjoyed the chilled vibe - plus Arugam is not the sort of place you visit to be in a rush! Rooms are spacious, clean and contemporary but probably not luxurious by some standards. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant including breakfast. The bar was also clearly the most happening place in town during the off season and drinks were good. The pool and grounds are kept meticulously clean by the hardworking staff. I think some of the negative reviews here are from people who may be more used to a hyper-efficient level of service and who probably paid higher prices in peak season when it is more crowded. Perhaps the ambience is different then, but we had a lovely time during our off season stay and would definitely stay at Spice Trail again should we visit Arugam again! …
Beautil place with a touch of boutique concept. May need to book on line to reserve a room. Good bar as you walk to hotel and show kitchen with a small restaurant. Lay out is unique and with a small pool. Preferred to stay a night yet hotel was full.
Rooms: Excellent Surroundings: Excellent Food: Excellent Staff: Best ever! But you really have to pay attention to the guy who works with the pool. It is the most amazing human being ever. So incredibly kind and helpful. <3
