Loved seeing a real coffee machine after a few weeks travelling. The guy at the cafe was super chilled and nice. The area near the cafe was closed for renovations but there were a few seats available. Will be back tomorrow for another coffee. Thanks guys x

Arugam bay is not the hotspot of 4 or 5 star accommodation ...being more of a backpacker/surfing location it probably doesnt have to be.....so we found hideaway resort online and judging by price alone we thought they must be miles better than the rest....well theyre not. The place is clean...the food is good...but there is really nothing much else to...

Thank you for taking the time to review us and I am sorry we didnt meet your expectations. A few things that I would like to clarify: We hand people a Welcome Letter on arrival and it is stated clearly "to be mindful when soliciting transport as certain groups of three wheel and van drivers in the area have been...

Hideaway is a beautiful gardened gem of a guest house/cafe/bar. We visited a couple of times for real batista coffee during the day and hung out in the cool of the tree-filled cafe courtyard surrounded by day beds and veggie patches. In the evening there is a great happy hour from 6-8pm offering 2 for 1 on a selection of...

Love the fact that you discovered all that we have on offer and that you visited a couple of times. Don't forget to try our yoga classes and pool the next time you are passing through, you will discover the property extends and the cool zen of the gardens continue. We look forward to your return! Best from the Bay!

Look no further in Arugam Bay (or elsewhere for that matter) if you're interested in spending time at a place that has perfected the art of relaxation. Sharon and her world class staff deliver a truly wonderful experience which is complemented by a beautifully landscaped property, well appointed bungalows, and delicious food. Having recently spent nearly a month at the...

This is a gem. Situated in the heart of Arugam Bay and set in a few, shady, tree and plant filled acres, it is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. The old family homestead, which is the centrepiece, echoes an age long past and retains a wonderful, homely atmosphere. Accommodation is in either individual cabanas set in the midst of...

We stayed here for two weeks in April and we absolutely lobed it! Amazing service, amazing staff and amazing location! We loved the vibe and the good was the best we'd had! We had our wedding in Arugam Bay and Sharon helped us organise it. She and her staff blew us away with everything they did - and in such...

What an honor and privileged it was that you chose us to host your wedding and reception. Considering you had never been to Sri Lanka let alone Arugambay, it was a huge leap of faith and I congratulate you on so many levels. Firstly for having faith in us and secondly for being so adventurous in your choice. What a...

Both bungalows were very clean..the one near the street could benefit a bit of refreshment namely in the bathroom but overall very nice..The food is great.. lots of people staying in different hotels were...

The food is amazing and we loved the concept of changing the menu everyday for dinner. Thank you to the staff and Sharon who made us feel at...

We stayed one night in Hideaway 🌿 Room 3. to be exact! There were alot of mosquitos, we had a struggle with that 🕸 The walls in the room were thin, and there were open space in the top so all 🐜 were welcome! There was a mosquito net over the covering the bed though. The bed was hard as...

Dear Ingrid, I am sorry we didnt quite meet your expectations. If you checked us out on the web, you would have surely seen that the non a/c rooms had a slatted wall. The main house was built in the late 70's when we didnt have electricity then. The net, if tucked in correctly works like a charm and we...

We've opened the doors of this magical place we've lovingly called home for 30 years and we invite you to join us here and discover its very special charm. Hideaway is primarily a family owned and run entity and has its own distinct personality and style of service and is not for everyone. The relaxed and homely atmosphere has a certain panache and all our guests receive sensitive and personalised attention. Hideaway comprises 14 rooms in total: four double rooms and one triple room within the main villa, three family bungalows, four double bungalows and two air-conditioned double rooms - all discretely situated within the resort's gardens, furnished with a rustic charm that will nourish your mind and soul. We are now delighted to provide our guests with facilities for wellness and healing. We have added a pool, yoga pavilion and treatment center - the latter two operate daily during the season. Let us feed your body too! The quality of our cuisine is renowned for miles around and we are proud to share it with our guests and visitors. Our inviting restaurant, open for a relaxed breakfast, lunch and dinner, delivers the finest gastronomic encounters, courtesy of Sharon and her skilled team and carefully selected ingredients.
