My wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th anniversary by recreating a dude ranch vacation we took with our two kids 35-40 years ago. So our adult children and grandkids (12 of us in total) headed to TRR. It was recommended by a couple that spent their honeymoon there many many moons ago. Bottom line is that the place exceeded all of our expectations . The staff ( wranglers and other staff) were just amazing. Helpful to the extreme and always met our every need. The way the ranch is run by Megan and Scott is like clockwork. The activities are planned such that you can be a busy as you want to be or relax as much as you want by the pool, the spa or just on the front porch. You got the same horse everyday that met your level of experience, you could ride everyday if desired. The food was truly indescribable, excellent in every way. If you have a large group like we did, you can all stay together in the Pueblo House ( three square meals a day by the cook, a house mother to tidy up each day). What an amazing week spent in the mountains at Tumbling River Ranch. We had 21 people in our group, and were able to fit most of them in the Pueblo House and sweet cabin next door. The owners have the magic figured out, and hire the greatest staff to put it in motion. Our group tried everything that was offered, from white water rafting to fly fishing to trap shooting and the overnight camp out. The kids club was great, and the teens always had something fun to choose from too. We hiked, we rode, we square danced and we rodeo-ed. The food was fantastic, and often accompanied by a fun hay ride or guitarist. So many amazing memories. Thank you for all that you do for your guests. It’s a trip to remember.

Forget Disneyland, Tumbling River Ranch is "the happiest place on earth." Actually, "happy" doesn't do it justice -- TRR is a magical. We've done two trips to TRR with our extended family -- before we leave, we're already planning our next visit, and calling our friends to come as well. Why so great? Well, for one, Scott and Meghan make the experience frictionless. We arrived on Sunday and barely made a plan after that. Every night, they helped us plan our next day. Did we want to do a trail ride? Hike? Fish? Massage? Relax in our room? Whatever we wanted to do, every detail was planned. And our young kids went off on their own adventures with the incredible staff of wranglers and counselors. And the food. Oh, the food. On a typical vacation with family, every few hours I'm thinking about when and where we'll take the kids to eat. At TRR, they literally rang a breakfast/lunch/dinner bell, called everyone to a central hall, and served a delicious, family-style meal. And the nights all brought new adventures, from a cookout to a private concert to a "fancy dinner" for the grown ups (while the kids played capture the flag). On the last day, the whole ranch gathers for a rodeo, and we got to watch our normally timid kids jump headfirst into barrel rides and keyhole tricks... followed by a nighttime square dance I'll never forget. Our only complaint is the week flew by too fast. Thanks Meghan and Scott for a vacation we'll never forget. See you next time! …

What a truly special and memorable experience we had at Tumbling River Ranch! Our family was impressed with the organized activities each day that kept us moving, wonderful children's programing, warm and friendly staff, amazing food and gorgeous surroundings! From the trail rides, to fishing, to shooting, a rodeo and square dancing...TRR covers all of the bases! Our family (17 people) enjoyed staying together in the beautiful Pueblo House and Sullivan's Cabin. The Dugan family have done such a wonderful job at making everyone feel right at home while staying at the ranch. This is a special place and would encourage any family to visit and make amazing memories like we did!

Absolutely the best experience we've ever had at a dude ranch. The owners Scott and Megan are absolutely wonderful people. All the staff, including the cooks, wranglers, kids counselors, maintenance crew, and cleaning staff are the most polite, caring, passionate, and respectful people we've met in a long time. The whole week is full of different experiences that will create memories for a lifetime. Added bonus: the meals they make, and the experience you have are absolutely 100% a five star experience.

Everything here exceeded my expectations! We came here for the kids program and were delighted! Our cabin, the Frenchman, was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. It was meticulously cleaned each morning after my family of 5 left for our daily adventures. The food was delicious and plentiful. There were always kid friendly options, but my 3 boys mostly ate the "adult" meals. Breakfast was hearty with hot and cold options. Lunches were varied, sometimes at the ranch and sometimes at a cookout location in the mountains. Dinner was always a hit, with homemade bread, salad, mains, and the best part - dessert! There were a few options for activities each day - short horseback rides, longer horseback rides, and non-horse options like shooting, fishing, hiking, yoga, etc. You are never bored! The kids program was phenomenal. Our kids loved going with the counselors each morning, who were energetic, responsible, and always flexible if the weather wasn't cooperating. My favorite part of the trip was the rodeo on Friday where the guests and wranglers all participate in some friendly competition. All the staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and ready to help in any way needed. I can't wait to go back.…

Perfect vacation for our extended family of 16. Ages 12-75. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the hospitality provided was so wonderful. Each day, you could choose an activity (or multiple) to participate in. Horseback riding, hiking, whitewater rafting. Teens (and children) had their own programs to participate in. Staff was off the charts-amazing! Food was amazing for every meal. Pueblo house was a treat for our family. Especially because the baking for the ranch was done here, so every morning we woke up to the smell of fresh bread and dessert. Square dance and Rodeo were somethings we won’t forget. This is an active vacation but the TRR accommodated for individuals in your group who may not be as active or agile. As the parent of four kids, it was so great to not have to plan details or meals-the Ranch met and exceeded everyone’s expectations. Truly a vacation we will not forget.…

My granddaughter turning “16” like myself is in love with horses! Her wish to ride as much as possible in varied terrain. Tumbling River made her dream come true—she loved every aspect—even untacking & cleaning up her horse daily! We’ve both had horses & rode for years—our standards were high—Tumbling River continuously in every way—even in competition—our overnight trip—staff—filling our dietary needs, etc. came through!!! I especially with health issues give Jo an excellent Chef & her assistant a “hats off” for exceptional meals! The beds were extremely comfortable everything we needed right there. The only noise at night rushing water—missed it when I got home! Just perfect with ranch owners & sons right there & very approachable! Just perfect!

Tumbling River Ranch-- MAGIC! Our family of five (kids ages 8,10,12) had the most fantastic trip. Horseback riding, white water rafting, counselor led capture the flag, music + smores by the camp-fire, a pop-up fajita lunch in the mountains... It all happens seamlessly and at the highest level of execution. The Dugan family (include ranch dogs), counselors and wranglers have really created such a special place that we hope to visit again VERY soon.

I have been meaning to write this review since we stayed at Tumbling River Ranch last August. Before going we read the reviews and I honestly thought if this place was half as good as everyone said, it would be an amazing trip. Well it was better than I could have imagined. Everything you read is true. It was truly a trip of a life time and a week my family will remember forever. We stayed with friends at the The Pueblo House and my kids will never be able to stay in a normal hotel again. It was spectacular. To be honest everything was. The staff, the meals, the activities...everything. Thanks so much Scott and Megan. We cant wait to come back soon.
