We loved staying at your cute cabin. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were so soft. Thank you so much for allowing our dog to stay with us! It meant the world to us. The view of the mountains the the canal behind the cabin was very peaceful. I loved walking our dog there in the morning. It... More

We love staying here. That cabins/rooms are so cute and well-equipped. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. Close to the lakes and all the outdoor activities. Good place to stay in the winter. Nice family atmosphere.

Loved our stay here. The rooms are adorable and we had plenty of space for 2 adults and a 12 year old. It feels like camping but with all the nice things like a kitchen, bathroom and comfortable bed! The property is just far enough outside of town to be very quiet and peaceful. Great bird watching and fishing right... More

We decided to get out of town for black Friday. The "Ranch" cabin was such a fun cabin we decided to stay a second night 10 minutes after check in. Close enough to the Christmas tree lighting but far enough away from the bustle. We will be back! Thanks Doug!

You are so welcome! The units do have fun decor and each one is different. Some guest find one they like and stay there each time. For others, it's a little adventure to try a different one out on every trip. More

clean lodging in the grand lake area (gets two stars just for clean) We was expecting more for that price point. It's right near the highway, so it isn't a peaceful oasis. It is rustic, but also needs some attention (like tightening door handles and shower heads, etc.). The website makes it look nicer than it is.

We're glad you enjoyed the cleanliness of the property- It's our highest priority! We believe (and so do most guests) that our prices are reasonable when one considers everything that's included;Kitchenettes require much more time to clean than standard hotel rooms. There are also fireplaces, campfires, grills, an herb garden, all linens and cookware, access to a second property, free... More

Just the right amount of tacky and kitch for the room decor, reminds you that you aren't at the office. Walking distance to one restaurant, otherwise you are taking a car everywhere. We enjoy this place they are consistent, affordable, and pet friendly. There is a canal right behind the place for some fishing. They have firewood for sale for... More

Love it! Most of the decor in the units was done by a pair of very talented former owners. He made the log furniture inside and out and she sewed- curtains, quilts, even potholders. What really amazes us though, is that so much of the decorating ideas they had 20 years ago are showing up all over Pinterest now: corrugated... More

We stayed here because they were dog friendly! We stayed in the moose lodge and it was very comfortable. We have a family of five with two large dogs. The kids had plenty of room with a fold down futon as well as a bunk bed. I have to mention that I have older kids and it was a great... More

Fort Moose was a great choice for your family! The beautiful Queen log bed in the bedroom gives adult couples a little privacy and the kids really seem to enjoy the bunks and futon in the main room (The TV is out there and so is access to the fridge : ) When we travel, we sometimes get tired of... Husband and I were heading to Grand Lake for a few days during the week. I wanted a cabin as opposed to a "room". These guys provided that and so much more! If it's not in your cabin, which is well stocked, then they offer to loan or give it to you. There are a few things they sell but... More

We were guests here before we were managers and during our stays developed a pretty good sense of what makes the units feel like a little "Home-Away-From-Home". We have a great time taking care of a place where our senses of humor and creativity can be used to the fullest extent. Curating ideas and posting our own on Pinterest is... More

I stayed at the North Shore portion of the Mountain Lakes Lodge with a friend during a recent visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. The motel/cabin had a few nice touches and great views out onto the lake. We rented a two bedroom unit, but at the last minute we were asked to change to a different unit which was... More

We're glad you enjoyed your stay and would recommend North Shore Resort! We sometimes offer a deck room to guests who book into #9 (the only 2-bedroom), which faces the road and doesn't have a view. The view is a favorite aspect of North Shore for most guests and we see you enjoyed it, too! We're sorry you had issues... More

Cleanliness and a hot shower fill my basic room needs and the Mountain Lakes Lodge set up offered both. A bonus came from a pleasant porch offering a pretty view of Shadow Mountain Lake (full moon helped). A "mom-and-pop" operation run by a couple who seem to care about their business, the cabins and rooms have "fixed up" features that... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the lodging. We're not sure at which location you stayed, since neither are on Shadow Mountain Reservoir and both have decks with views of the water. We don't want folks to be confused; North Shore Resort is on Lake Granby and Mountain Lakes Lodge is on the Granby-Shadow Mountain Canal. Yes they're... More
