We stayed a few days, the staff were very friendly they guided us in activities and places, everything was very clean, the laundry is clean and efficient. The campground is very quiet with an impressive view towards THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!!! DAILY WE SAW THE MOOSE AND REINDEER. We will return soon without a doubt!!!
We love this campground, been coming the last couple years several times a year. This year we met the new owner, Greg , he was great! Showers and bathrooms very clean and well kept. The resident moose we love to see most evenings. Great camp store! The grounds are very well kept. All around beautiful place to stay and seconds from the park entrance! Highly recommend!
We stayed the night after picking up our new fifth wheel trailer in Boise. The staff at Elk Creek Trailers was helpful and the shuttle to the stores were convenient. Easy access for the trailers as well. Quiet and convenient. We found it to be the perfect stop on our way south so stayed again two weeks later. We camped at the river but still love Elk Creek Trailers when traveling in our travel trailer. We camped at Elk Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.
This campground was the highlight of our stays across fourteen states last month. Our site was clean and attractive, with some natural screening. The facility offers an excellent set of standard amenities like flush toilets and showers; in addition it provides a fine laundry and a camp store and an indoor room with WiFi services. Even more impressive, however, were the extras: a propane refilling service and a discreet little playground for children. We had chosen this campground because it's located only a mile from the west entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park and just outside the pretty town of Grand Lake..Only when we got there did we discover how professional and friendly the campground staff proved to be.
Stayed here in our 28' TT, and absolutely loved it. My wife fell in love with it before we even got parked. The family that owns it are amazing and very knowledgeable of the area and it's events. Just a few minutes into town and right up the road from the lake. Our spot was on the smaller end but I can't complain about it one bit. We've named this campground as our favorite so far.
We really lucked out on our first stay here. We had a slide-in camper/kayak trailer and were assigned our site. Luckily we fit - it was the most secluded electric site. We had a view of the mountains while surrounded by aspen trees, pines and willow bushes which brought moose right to our site. The campground is clean, the hosts are very friendly, the store is well stocked (not over priced) and it’s close to the town center. It was a thrill to see moose every day and our fellow campers were all friendly and respectful of quiet hours.
The campground is affordable and very gorgeous. You don't hear any road noise and the sound of the creek running through the middle of camp is the perfect noise when you are camping. The camps hosts are amazing people and treated us like family. Will definitely be coming back!
After traveling over fifteen hundred miles and staying at three state parks and one other private camp ground we were looking forward to ending our three week long Colorado adventure in Grand Lake. When we arrived at Elk Creek the lady behind the counter was Snarky to say the least, and just plain rude. We were talked to like we were checking into a prison camp. After they were done talking to us like we were children being punished for paying them to use their campground we signed their consent form and went to our campsite. When we got to our campsite we were very disappointed The campsite we had was so uneven we couldn't even sit at the picnic table with any comfort, and we had to put three to four inches of wedges under one side of our little two burner grill just to get it level enough to boil some water, and cook some dinner. We reserved and paid for three nights only stayed one, and paid to stay at a different place for our last two nights. We would never even consider staying at, or recommending this campground to anyone. Terrible.…
We spent a week in September at Elk Creek in our RV. This was our third year with them. The sites are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The facilities are the cleanest we’ve ever seen and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had WiFi and a great view. Neighboring campers were friendly and during quiet hours the rules were followed. We were close to restaurants, groceries, lakes and hiking. The aspens were turning! Best park in the area by far!
A friend and I stayed in the cabins and it was perfect. Having the heater included with the cabin was key to a good, warm nights sleep. We heard elk at night and were warned about moose but did not see any. The cabins have two super nice (new?) chairs on the small porch which was great because we did not pack camping chairs. The campground has WiFi by the main building, a dishwashing station, and CLEAN bathrooms. I have Verizon and had cell service which surprised me. The showers were nice and people wore masks in the bathrooms. The staff was super friendly and seemed like genuine people. We went for a hike/walk by the Colorado River a mile from the campsite and enjoyed it. We ate dinner at the Worlds End Brewpub in grand lake village- it was tasty, they had beer on tap, and great fries.…
