My son and I spent the night here on our visit to RMNP. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and up to date, with very comfortable bedding. We arrived late and were still able to get into our room because I called ahead to notify the desk of our arrival time. Breakfast in the morning was enough for a... More

We stayed for three nights and had a friendly, helpful staff make us feel at home. The rooms were cabin like clean and comfortable . The pool was very relaxing . The continental breakfast was just enough for a day of sightseeing or hiking. It is a beautiful lodge in an unforgettable beautiful spot. I highly recommend it.

Lodge is nicely situated across from Shadow Mountain Lake and within a couple of miles of village. Room 11 was knotted pine throughout with sitting room, kitchen had microwave, refrigerator and sink. bedroom was large with closets and bath in hall. There was hot tub and sauna in separate building which was so nice after a day of hiking. Grills... More

I came as a lone young female traveller and hiker and was a bit nervous about my stay. Therese and Robert made me feel at ease immediately. They were friendly but still kept a comfortable, respectful distance. On the first day Therese offered to drive me into town and to a grocery store to let me buy some food for... More

We stayed at the Black Bear Lodge for five nights recently. The room was average size and comfortably appointed, with a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. The bathroom was small, and the shower stall was very small! The water pressure was good, but the water temperature fluctuated from comfortably hot to cool and back to hot for no apparent... More

We spent a wonderful three nights at the Black Bear Lodge. Robert and Therese make you feel at home and are very responsive to your needs and interests. Nearby marina with boat rentals, and nearby rustic downtown Grand Lake and the Rocky Mountain National Park all easily accessible, making the Lodge a great base for experiencing a Rocky Mountain high.

We'd never been to Colorado, so we reserved the Black Bear Lodge based on reviews and pictures. We stayed in room #28, which is at the end of the building, providing extra peace and quiet and a great view of the mountains. We had 2 rooms with plenty of space to sleep 7. The room was clean, but the bathroom... More
