This Western Colorado KOA campground is centrally located between the high desert and hiking trails of the Colorado National Monument and the tree-shaded lakes of the Grand Mesa, featuring fishing, ATV and hiking trails, and moose, elk and deer hunting. Nearby, mountain bike trails in all directions offer terrain very similar to Moab without the crowds. The Colorado River offers rafting from "mild", 2-hour trips to "WILD" full-day trips; you can even catch a horseback ride! Bring your rod and reel, because great trout fishing is just a short drive away from the campground.
This park is near highway 50 so you do get some traffic noise until later in the evening. Nice park - well kept up and clean. Easy access to a neighborhood for walking. Good location - easy to get to Colorado National Park as well as a number of other venues, restaurants, etc.
We were showing our dog at the fairgrounds that are literally next door. This is the best campground we've been to. All facilities are kept neat and clean. Staff, especially Esteban and dog Rambo were very hospitable and helped make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
We had a small patch of grass at our site. Perfect four out chairs and cooking gear. Not packed together. Close to the highway. For the most part traffic noise was not an issue. The staff was always helpful with directions etc. Big old Doberman named Rambo was also friendly.
We had a RV pull thru site right next to the office. Because it was early February there was hardly anyone else here and maybe that is why the wifi worked so well! Park is located right off the highway and we had plenty of room to maneuver our 37 foot motorhome around the park. Nice patch of grass for relaxing outside our RV. Spacious site with table and fire pit. Very clean and quiet park. Staff was very helpful and friendly! Will stay again if we come through Grand Junction.
Very clean level sites. Employees are very friendly and helpful. From here short drive to the Mesa. Be sure to visit the black canyon in Montrose. Many resturants in Grand Junction and groceries stores are close
