Clean, comfortable accomodations. Very good breakfast. The staff are friendly, respectful, and there to help no matter the issue. Paul gave me a nice ride to the airport. I did not know they provided such a generous perk. I highly recommend this place.

As my first visit to this hotel, why stay near and pay more? Decent pet rate, good service (Cameron and Jacob were very helpful and nice). It is right on Main Street, within walking distance of great food, great beer/drinks and awesome unique shops.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Main Street Historic District. So nice to walk to a wide variety of sidewalk cafes, pubs and shops. The decor of the hotel was dated; however, it was very clean and the staff had great customer service. Free shuttle to the airport which was nice! A bit pricey for the quality but we would stay there again.

They let us check in early! To get into the pool for the kids. The water was FREEZING! They said, it is 86 degrees (which is nice if it is is SUMMER TIME! Being 10 degrees cooler then body temperature!). They said, You can use the one across the street! It was 20 degrees outside! We were not going to walk outside in our swim suits and towels! They said, OH, It will take a week to warm it up! Like that was going to help! The whole day was shot! We just sat in the pool area! Not getting into the water! Even setting on the side putting your feet in was out of the question, the water was too COLD! Then there was NO HOT WATER for the shower! And duck tape in the bathroom on the floor! This was suppose to be one of their "Nicer" rooms. I had to leave and go home to shower! In the morning at the buffet, the waffle iron kept STICKING! Even the staff knew about it! It was a hassle and a melt down with the kids, since the waffles came out as crumbs and pieces. Every one knew it didn't work! It needs to be REPLACED! There should be two also! People from copper, leadville, montrose had come up to get in the pool and picked the Marriott! It was not a nice place..... When brought up to the staff, it was passed on and "Sorry for your inconvenience" YET NOTHING was ever done. When checking out I explained all over how crummy the stay had been. And again,"sorry to hear about that." Then the audacity to say, "we got the waffle iron situation fixed we could have someone remake you some waffles." OMG! I thought I was going to lose it! The ignorance! While standing there checking out! WOW! Then 3 days later a CHARGE to our credit card for $27.12 showed up on our bill! I had a receipt for $00. balance , paid in full. No other charges. I called the front desk and the young man had no idea what the charge was and agreed I should call my credit card company and have it declined (which means I get my card cancelled and a new one comes in the mail!). So, we decided to go down to the hotel and talk to someone. She explained it was hotel policy to put the charge on your card for incidentals, whether you have them or not and it should go away in ten business days! WHAT!?!? Since when does a hotel bill you for something you have NO IDEA what you are being charged for or not telling you they are doing it! BEWARE! OH and FYI, there is a seven ($7.00) parking fee, to park in their empty parking lot! Which the hotel COMPED me, but still! So ask for them to COMP the parking fee! We just wanted a nice place to visit and have fun for the kids. It was a HORRIBLE experience and the staff did not care!

Response from Tiffany W, Front Office Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Grand Junction Downtown/Historic Main Street
Responded Feb 22, 2019
Dear worldlygrandjunction, Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. My name is Tiffany Willis and I am the Front Desk Manager at the Fairfield Inn, Grand Junction Downtown/Historic Main Street. It has come to my attention that the service you received during your recent stay did not meet your expectations. For this, I sincerely apologize. The experience you described is not characteristic of the level of service our associates strive to provide. It is not common that our guests leave with this opinion of our property, we are taking your review very seriously. We were able to replace the waffle iron during breakfast hours the day of your stay. We are so sorry that this effected your morning in this way. 86 degrees is the hotel standard for the temperature of our pool. The associate at the desk, when you advised us of the pool temperature, has been sat down in a meeting for sensitivity training when handling guest issues such as this. He will also be retrained in following up with maintenance to ensure that we are being proactive and supplying the correct information. We had a professional service the heater the following Monday in light of your report. Our parking fee is kept separate in consideration of those who do not have a vehicle. We serve many guests who come in by plane, train and bus. It is typical that a property works it into the rate whereas ours is separate. For future stay with Marriott, there will be a listing of all hotel specific charges listed on their website at Marriott.com. I can understand your frustration and hope that this will help to avoid surprise fees in the future. I apologize if this was not shared at the time of booking. It is standard for hotels to place an authorization when there has been a credit card placed for incidentals. We supply signage in front of our registers as a reminder during check-in. The authorization is placed on the card to ensure there is a balance available. We may not collect payment for any charges until check-out, at which time we have rendered our services and have the totality of any incidentals that accrued. Your bank receives the authorization and holds funds aside. Depending on who you bank with, the authorization will be released by them within 7-10 business days. Our guests typically see it come back much faster but that is a safe estimate for maximum amount of time. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. It is reviews like this that help us perfect our hospitality as a team and serve as a reminder that we need to constantly evaluate ourselves. We have posted this on our board in our employee break room which will ensure that all of our team members take your experience into consideration and grow from your input.

Just spent another very pleasant night here. We come to Grand Junction several times a year for an overnight stay. Beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast has a variety of options, and sometimes has gluten free muffins (you might have to ask for them). Nice walk along Main St., and several good restaurants nearby.
