Stayed at Stillwater Campground on a family camping trip to Colorado. The sites are out in the open but the campground website clearly states this so we were prepared. Loved the convenience of having a bear box just for our site. Our first night was noisy due to disrespectful (drunk) campers but our second night was great! Facilities were clean... More

Stillwater is a beautiful campground but is very open to the elements. The wind ruined our tent and my mother's canopy of her pop up trailer. There are no large trees in sight (I believe due to the beetle kill) which leaves the campsites wide open with absolutely no relief from the sun or high winds. It's understandable that the... More

The site itself is beautiful: lake, mountains. But the campsites are situated so close together, you can hear everything others are saying and doing. Two obnoxiously drunk girls (probably late 20s but acting like pre-teens) were fighting well after 1:00 a.m. (quiet time is 10:00 p.m.) Meanwhile, the people on the other side of us decided to clang metal and... Loved this place. Found Steve and Anna to be extremely helpful throughout our 3 day tent camping stay. 10pm quiet curfew was well respected and we slept great. Steve gave us a wonderful hiking spot for us and it was marvelous (Monarch Lake loop). We felt safe at the campsite and liked the set up of the sites. If you... More

We booked site 14 on Loop A of the Stillwater Campground in the Arapaho National Recreation Area through Recreation.gov. There was electricity (30 amps) and water at the site. A dump station was near the exit from the campground. We camp in a 21 foot Class B motorhome. Since my unit is so compact, I disconnect the electricity and water... More

We camped at Stillwater Campground in late September. The sites were all back-ins and not level. This is a US Forest Service campground, so they only have water and electric hookups, but the electric was 50amp and we had good water pressure. Without Senior Pass or Military discounts, the cost is only $28 a night. This is compared to $48... More

We camp in a 32 foot travel trailer towed by a pickup truck. We need a large spot. We need an electric hookup. At Stillwater part of Loop A has sites with electric and water. So far, so good. When we were there (late September) all sites were first come, first serve. Our timing was spot on because we found... More

Book site #14 at Stillwater Campground, Granby, CO, and get a spectacular 280 degree view (almost a full circle) of the water on this peninsula that juts slightly into Lake Granby. Stunning views of the lake and soaring mountain backdrop. For trailer travellers the amenities of electricity and water hookup were well appreciated, while showers and flush toilets were just... Zero shade, and you can barely step outside without walking into your next door neighbor. Yes, views are great of the water if you are on the end of the semi-truck dirt parking lot. Generator city, keep your windows closed.

Luckily we did not believe everything the camp host said! We just came back fr a 5 weeks road trip to experience America the Beautiful in a rented RV. We stumbled into an extremely rare gem, the (Federal) Stillwater Recreation Campground at the edge of Granby Lake, Co. Met the camp host after a short drive on site. We were... More
