The activities - zip line, archery, tubing, mini golf, horseback riding, etc. are best for kids younger than 15. Hiking and bike riding might be good for older kids. The yurts are OK but bring heaters and blankets as it gets cold. Mattresses are average.

When we first checked in here I was viewing it like a lodge/hotel in a national park. As such, it would be poor. While the linens and shower were clean, the windows were actually very dirty and the floors in the halls were well worn. BUT, the next morning I started viewing it more like a campground with some indoor... More

With family scattered throughout the USA, we booked three rooms for a week, a 10 person family vacation and were assigned Silver Sage Lodge. The location is lovely, beautiful views from nearly every direction. There are LOADS of things for the kids to do, and we participated in most of them, canoeing, horseback riding, tubing, pool, guided hikes, loads of... More

We had family reunion for 50+, staying in Indian Peaks Lodge. Rooms were spacious and adequate (note this YMCA lodge is focused on nature-no TV but free WiFi; no A/C but you are at 8500+ ft so even in late July temps were moderate; note this two story lodge has no elevator). There is a LOT to do: hike, zipline,... More

Decided to book a family vacation last minute and couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay at the YMCA! Booked a nice 3 bedroom cabin and we were also able to bring along our dog! That was a big plus, the cabins are... Well cabins and on the rustic side but enough modern day things to cook meals and heat... More

Stayed at Snow Mountain Ranch on holidays with a friend -- the location is lovely, the accommodations are fine and some of the activities, like summer tubing and lollygagging with llamas (a short hike with friendly llamas) are pretty fun. The staff, on the other hand, could be a bit more helpful -- many were unable to answer basic questions... More

Can't say enough good things about Snow Mountain Ranch. We camped in the Hopi campground, and the site was spacious and well maintained. Our kids are 5,11, and 14, and they all enjoyed the numerous activities available, especially the summer tubing, zipline, and horseback riding. The staff were all friendly and great with kids. The campground crowd was rather boisterous,... More

We wanted to offer our 3 kiddos (ages 12, 11, & 8) a more earthy, true experience of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains in summertime. Boy did YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch offer that and then some! Our kids had an absolute blast with all the many activities at our disposal: they paid special appreciation of the summer tubing hill, archery,... More

Snow Mountain Ranch is popular with groups: youth groups, church groups, family reunions. Pluses: Good activities, especially for younger kids: archery, canoeing, zip line, arts & crafts. Good cafeteria-style food in the dining hall. 5 stars for the views. Building architecture is attractive from the outside. Meeting rooms available if your group is having events. Drawbacks: The lodges are functional,... More

We've been here several times since moving to CO in '13 and love it more and more each time. We normally come with friends and extended family and there's stuff for everyone to enjoy. As a heads up however, don't schedule activities back-to-back as there's a no refund policy. We had a trail ride start almost an hour late and... More
