From the moment of arrival to the time of departure, this was a fabulous site for our two adult-one 18 year old group. We were assigned the perfect horses and enjoyed daily riding as well as x-c skiing, snowshoeing, and three excellent meals a day. The rooms were appealing, comfortable, warm (in the winter), and quiet. The staff, including the hands-on operational folks, housekeeping, facility maintenance, outfitters -- everyone - was welcoming, friendly, and gave us just the right amount of privacy and suggestions as to what we might enjoy next. I usually nitpick my way through these reviews, but honestly I can't think of a single flaw - nothing I'd correct or change. We're already looking forward to our next trip here!

Our visit to the C Lazy U Ranch over the Memorial Day holiday proved to be our best family vacation ever.  Our boys are at ages (20, 18 and 15) where it's hard to find family trips everyone will enjoy. But at the C Lazy U Ranch, we had so many incredible experiences bonding as a family while horseback riding, mountain biking, fly fishing, trap shooting and just hanging out by the fire in the evening.  The staff at the ranch were simply wonderful - everyone was so welcoming, engaging and instructive in helping guide us all through every activity.   The food was fantastic.  While our visit occurred in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we felt safe and secure.  Staff were diligent in looking out for everyone's safety. All touch points were sanitized without fail (including saddles, shotguns, fly rods and even water bottles). Food and drink were handled with care. Social distancing was maintained, but in a manner in which everyone could still engage with staff and other guests at the ranch.  It was so refreshing to have a getaway where fears over Covid-19 faded away. Our family couldn't be more thankful of the opportunity to visit the C Lazy U Ranch.  It's truly a special place run by a group of incredible people.

Dear imh-Boulder, Thank you for your thoughtful TripAdvisor review. We appreciate your kind feedback and are so pleased the C Lazy U Ranch provided the perfect escape during uncertain times. The ranch truly is the ideal destination during our nation’s crisis. We have invested a great deal of time and energy in ensuring we can provide a safe environment and I am grateful that you acknowledged and appreciated our efforts. Not only are we honoring safe operating procedures required by county, state and federal but we’ve adopted some additional efforts that are ranch specific. We hope to see you again soon at the C Lazy U Ranch. Best wishes, David Craig General Manager

Unfortunately I went after they opened from Covid. I went for an Adult 4 days to ride. The horses were great as were the staff. Room was not cleaned the entire time I was there due to a staff shortage. I had to empty my own trash! All meals were buffet only nothing to rave about... just average food. My room was small and dark. For what I paid I was very disappointed... you think they could of offered a free drink! As I said the horses and riding was great which was why I went. I doubt I'll go again.

This was our seventh trip to C Lazy U. Our first since becoming empty nesters. This place is amazing. The staff, horse back riding, cabins, food, wine, spa etc. are just wonderful! We completely disconnect from the "real world" while enjoying CLU. All of the amenities were great. This is truly our very favorite vacation spot. My tell tale sign of a great place is if there is a "problem" it is addressed and corrected. We are looking forward to booking again next year!

We just returned from a long weekend trip with my son and his family. This trip was a gift to us from them. It was one of the best trips trips we have been on. My oldest granddaughter rides and was so excited to go and she was not disappointed at all! I cannot say enough about the kindness of the wranglers working with children here. My 3 grandchildren, 10, 8 and 6 all had such a fantastic time and made friends quickly. There were so many activities planned for them, they were never without something to do. My husband and I went on a ranger tour of the property with Mike and it was awesome. He was so knowledgeable about the area and showed us certain carvings on some trees that were 80 years old. Mike also pointed out bear claw markings from where bears claimed the trees. We went to the top of some mountains and had beautiful views of the area. Our cabin was beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and a great sitting area with a fire place. We were in Hill, which is a 3 bedroom cabin. The service was excellent. The meals were fantastic and food plentiful. The children ate breakfast and lunch with the family, then dined with their friends at dinner. My daughter in law and I both took advantage of the Spa while there. I had a massage, she had a massage and a tub soak. If you have a chance do it! It is set over the river and so relaxing. Overall I have to say this place is 5 star service for me. The GM Dave is around all the time to talk to you and answer any questions. The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly. They got you anything you needed and were always asking you if you needed anything. We all had so much fun, especially the children. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces. Thank you everyone at C Lazy U Ranch for a wonderful family trip!

Dear Kerry, Thank you sincerely for your kind and thoughtful review. You’ve really captured why the C Lazy U Ranch is an ideal multi-generational destination. Thank you for commending our service team – of all the things on ranch, it is the quality of our people that we are most proud. I am glad your grandchildren had a meaningful experience and that you were there to celebrate their joy. I enjoyed talking about baseball with you and I hope we can continue the conversation during another visit! Best wishes to the whole family! David Craig General Manager

Great facilities, incredible food, amazing and I mean amazing wine cellar (the wine steward knows her stuff) .....but the real plus of this 8 day adventure was the staff. Always there to help and instruct. My two fly fishing guides David and Austin knew their stuff. The didn't come with a set agenda, but worked at my skill level (intermediate) to make sure I had an incredible time on the water. The could certainly improve the fly fishing facilities/room at the ranch, but we spent our time and the water...which is where the fish are. My wife loved the horseback riding. She was sore but couldn't wait to get back on. Rooms were comfortable..but get rid of the tubs..swap them out for showers..great beds....the sounds of the coyotes at night...the horses being driven in every morning from the pastures...it in a word was wonderful!

Dear Donk93953, Thank you for your kind review. I am glad to hear that you had such a special experience. I am so pleased that our fishing guides adapted well to match your skill and interest level. Thank you for your suggestions. You mention the quality of the fishing room and while we do have a room on ranch that is open to guest access, we also have another more elaborate room that we typically keep locked because it contains an extensive collection of our Orvis rods, flies, rods, waders, boots and more, but can be opened for our guests with their fishing guide. We are also in the process of completing a new Activities Center (yurt) that is built atop a deck which is party suspended over the pond. I hope to show it to you when you next visit the C Lazy U. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback. Best wishes, David Craig General Manager

The process for reserving includes emailing them where you wait for a response. Then you call to make the reservation. I was okay until that point. I called three times with no answer then I finally reached someone. They were on the phone with me and the call dropped multiple times in the middle of making the reservation. This occurred several times so I indicated I'd call back from a landline with them knowing I was trying to make a reservation. No answer when I called again. So first thing at a reasonable hour I reach the same person who says she gave the reservation away already while I'm busy booking air with 4 people. She was of the mindset -- too bad we booked it already. Definitely not a 5 star experience.

Dear Imlucki, Thank you for your honest feedback regarding your efforts to make a reservation at the ranch. This is certainly not the experience we want to provide. The recent reservation call volume has been significant and the sheer quantity of requests has been almost impossible to plan and prepare for vs. our normal historical demands. In the midst of the COVID crisis people have discovered that the ranch provides a true sanctuary, which is resulting in incredible interest. We are in the planning phases of upgrading our reservations software and related systems in the forthcoming fall to adapt to these demands. In the meantime, our team is doing their very best to respond effectively to each call and I regret that we fell short during your reservation’s process. With sincere apologies, David Craig General Manager

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the C Lazy U Ranch. The Ranch has a very intimate feel. The managers speak with all the guests daily. The general manager even serves guests “cowboy coffee” in the morning. The staff had masks on at all times and asked that guests mask up when mounting horses. The Covid precautions were noticeable but not intrusive. They have found a good balance keeping guests and staff safe while maintaining comfortable environment for all. Of course, you come to the ranch to enjoy the outdoor experience. Our wrangler, Abby, was knowledgeable and fun. My husband, an experience fisherman, learned a lot fly fishing with Austin. He also enjoyed the trap shooting experience with Jackson. The food was wonderful and plentiful, since you work up an appetite being outside all day. We dined al fresco for every meal, which was perfect given the beautiful Colorado summer weather. I understand that guest can also chose to dine in their rooms. The accommodations are very comfortable and spacious. My one regret is that we had not discovered the ranch sooner! My kids would have loved the children and teen programs available.

Dear Lisa S, Thank you kindly for your heartfelt review. I appreciate that you felt safe and comfortable with the initiatives we’ve adopted in this COVID crisis. Thank you for mentioning “Cowboy Coffee” - it is my favorite time of day, as we watch the ranch come alive, the fish cresting in the pond, the horses being saddled, birds awakening and providing a cheerful background melody, the dew burning off the morning grass and excited families beginning to congregate for breakfast and getting ready to ride. I don’t think any Starbuck’s can boast about that kind of morning! I hope the C Lazy U becomes a part of your family’s summer tradition. Best wishes and thank you, David Craig General Manager
