This was not a good experience. I likely will not cover it all... would be a 1 but the beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was not clean and very dated. 2 of our towels were dirty. The room had very dim lighting with all lights on. The elevator lobby was dirty. In the midst of COVID, the small pool/hot tub/workout areas were open with no signs of limitations or sanitary cleanings. We chose this hotel based on TA rating, but are disappointed that it would be posted as a 4 star. The staff was friendly and professional. We did not complain as we were only there for a shower and beds and as we slowly discovered these issues, it was easiest to sleep and get out.
Our Hotel stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel had sealed the room post sanitization to ensure that we felt safe amidst COVID travels. We could reserve the pool and hot tub to ensure social distancing. Continental breakfast was available to go as indicated on the web site. Location was great to a lot of local sights, food and amenities in town. Our thermostat did not function , but maintenance came right away to resolve it - which was basically shutting it down but it was not a big issue as the room was well insulated.
Reservation not fulfilled after Expedia confirmed. Hotel clerk would not investigate and Expedia said all info on their end was correct, approved and submitted to the hotel. Had to book room at higher rate and given room with inoperable toilet. General condition of lobby, hallways and rooms is poor for a Hampton Inn. But the heat and hot water worked.
We were advised of a $12 parking charge after we arrived which was not normal for a suburban open parking lot. Courtyard by Marriott nearby had no such charge. The room had no glasses in it and I was rudely told by the clerk that they did not put glasses in rooms because of COVID, yada, yada, yada. Courtyard, in the same town, had sealed plastic glasses and coffee cups in their rooms. Courtyard also had a coffee maker and ice bucket which were not there at Hampton. We had reserved a room with a king bed and sofa which are shown on Hampton/Hilton's website as well as other third party sites as being offered The Hampton/Hilton reservation clerk assured us that the room was so equipped. It had no sofa and the desk clerk once again rudely told us that the hotel did not have sofas. Harsh words ensued. Long story short the clerk called the police and locked us out Fortunately a Courtyard was located nearby and had a room with all we asked from Hampton at a lesser price. My wife had used Hilton/Hampton extensively when she travelled for business and we have also used them together. Needless to say in the future they will not be high on our priority list.…
This is a very basic and clean room. It's in a good location in the business district and there are countless restaurant options in the area. It's not too far from the Columbine High School memorial which is worth the visit.
