I'm where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. Here, our rocks are red, our outlook is sky high, and our beer is ice cold. In fact, here in Golden, Colorado more beer is brewed than any other town in America. Come for a concert at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre or for the authentic Colorado experience: hiking, biking, skiing, or just being.

Origin Hotel Red Rocks garners mixed reactions, particularly for its service, with some guests commending the friendly staff while others point out issues with communication and shuttles. The trendy ambiance and artsy decor adjacent to Red Rocks Amphitheater are highlights, yet the value is questioned, as many feel the rooms and services are overpriced, especially considering the cleanliness and maintenance concerns raised.
While the location is ideal for events, additional fees and inconsistent room amenities have left some guests feeling the experience doesn't match the expense.

Detailed Reviews
We booked a 5 night stay. Very bummed that gym was closed. No mention of that on the website. We were told that there would be no cleaning of our room but I did not realize the ramifications of that. Our toilet REALLY need cleaning and I asked but they refused, I asked for them to bring me cleaning supplies and they refused saying their chemicals were too strong for me. Thank goodness I brought some gloves in my car, I had to use shampoo and body wash and a face cloth to clean my toilet!!! I realize COVID precautions are in place but this is extreme for a 5 night booked stay. They could provide a packet of normal cleaning supplies or a toilet brush like most European hotels do. I talked to the manager but I did not get anywhere. Also I had to put our trash cans and used towels outside the door. No provisions for these small trash cans, no trash plastic bags etc. When they returned my trash cans they had not been wiped clean.
On the positive side, they did try to be nice and gave us dishes to use and proper coffee cups rather than paper.
Food was good in the restaurant.
They must not be used to people who want to stay longer than a day or two.

Thank you very much for your recent stay and for your your review. We truly appreciate your business and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am terribly sorry to hear that your experience was not perfect due to some of the restrictions we have put in place due to COVID-19 to protect our guests and staff. This is always our main priority and we truly apologize for any short comings that came due to some of our modifications to our cleanliness protocols. We will certainly take your feedback into consideration as we all are still learning how to navigate our current environment. However, we are glad that you overall enjoyed your stay and all the amenities we have to offer, such as Nomad Taqueria and Beer Garden. Thank you for visiting with us and we wish you safe travels. Kind Regards, Chris K.

This is a nice location and overall the hotel is in good shape. There were a few oversights - scuffed walls and broken endtable in our room, etc.
We were disappointed with the on-site restaurant’s hours and the limited dining options nearby. We accidentally left a pair of pjs behind in the room at checkout, realized our mistake, and called the hotel the same day. We followed their procedure and were told we’d hear back within 48 hrs. Four days later we got & returned a message from housekeeping - the person we spoke to had no knowledge our missing item claim or the message we’d received. Two days after that, we got a call saying they never found the item but would speak further to the person who cleaned the room (at that point, 7 days prior). We know it was our mistake to leave the pjs behind but were rather surprised at the hotel’s handling of it. Put a damper on the stay.

We didn't want to drive the 80 miles home after the concert so we booked a room at Origin Hotel Red Rocks. Nice hotel, easy check in, spacious rooms, amazingly comfortable beds and quiet although the bathroom could have used a little more attention. Also made a reservation for dinner at their onsite restaurant before the show. Should have taken a hint when we saw that it was mostly empty. Skip the Nomad. The food was terrible.
They have a nice shuttle bus ($25 per person) that delivers you very close to the entrance. That part was good but the return trip was a pain. Be prepared to walk for awhile in the dark to find the bus! Directions for the return trip were pretty sparse! Wear walking shoes!
Overall, would stay there again for a Red Rocks event.

I usually don’t write reviews. However as an avid traveler I want to ensure no one else has the same disappointing experience I had at Origin Red Rock. My company has relocated operations to Colorado so I found it critical to find a hotel I could call my home away from home. I was eager to explore the area and secure a hotel I would be able to add to my company’s portfolio as the preferred hotel of choice when traveling on business to Colorado. I arrived at Origin Red Rock on Sunday, February 6th the check in was cold and transactional, no additional information on hotel amenities or local attractions. That should have been my first indication of red flags to follow. Monday 5:30am I was awoken by the alarm goes off in the adjacent room. Naturally it’s unexpected and I jump out of the bed worried and concerned. The walls in the hotel rooms are thin so don’t count on getting a good rest in this hotel. The alarm rang blaring loudly until I called reception from my cellphone for them to check. By the time they check the alarm has stopped 15 minutes later. Tuesday, again 5:30 am the alarm goes off in the adjacent room. Again, I call and and by time they come up it’s stopped. I try again to fall sleep and at 6:30am the phone in my room starts ring… 6:30am. I get out of bed answer and there is no one one the phone - dial tone. I was taken back by the hotels lack of response to my distribution of sleep. No information, service recovery or follow up at all. Truly poor customer service. Two nights of disturbed sleep I was frustrated and annoyed I decided that morning I would pack my bags and leave. It was clear I was not welcomed and I needed to immediately cancel my remaining 5 nights. Thankfully, I was able to contact all my colleagues and advise them that this property is to be removed from our list as a preferred hotel to consider in the area and to not move forward with any bookings at this hotel. Upon checking out I asked reception if there were any customers staying in the rooms next to me. They said “No” I asked if I had a “Morning wake up call” assigned to my room. They said “No”. So all of the ringing alarms could have been avoided. Additionally, the hotel cleanliness was major concern for me- long black hair inside all of the folded towels, yellow stains on sheets and filthy hand marks all over the inside of the window. If you do grab breakfast all three of the staff members behind the bar will ignore you. I will not be returning to this property as this experience was not a reflection of a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests.

We stayed at Origin Hotel Red Rocks for 3 nights for a short getaway and to see a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater. This property has great potential with location, but unfortunately, the only food option on property is the Nomad restaurant, and while this also has potential, it was way understaffed our entire stay, with typically only 1 employee working at a time. This resulted in slow service, and having to initiate contact with the employee to even be served at all on 2 occasions. Our room was clean enough, but definitely could have been more thoroughly cleaned, and the room is only serviced upon request only, which was not communicated in any way to us, resulting in us having to request towels, toilet paper & kleenex on our own from the front desk. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the Golden area and this hotel was conveniently located for our trip, but the overall service & cleanliness was disappointing, especailly for the rate per night we paid.

The hotel is beautiful, but due to COVID the maid service was non existent. Therefore, we were charged full price for no maid service and given no extra supplies in our room to service our own room. Therefore, by the end of our stay, the trash was overflowing, towels everywhere, and toilet paper in short to no supply. All at full price. The last day, not being wanting to be in our room, we took our doughnuts to the lobby, where, I believe, the manage, to us that it was “uncool” to eat food outside of our room in the lobby that was not purchased at the hotel. On the upside, the front desk and bar staff are AWESOME!!!! And were as helpful as they possibly could be. But they can’t do it all.

First and foremost, we appreciate your business and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am terribly sorry to hear that your experience was not to your liking and due to our current COVID protocols that we still have in place regarding daily housekeeping service. Our number one priority is always guest and staff safety, and in accordance with our brand, we are still refraining from daily housekeeping service. However, we are always here to provide any extra amenities or items you might need through the course of your stay. We are working diligently with our brand to be allowed to return to daily housekeeping service as COVID restrictions continue to ease across our state and around the country. As for the the interaction you had with a staff member, i truly apologize for this and this seem very unlike any of our FD staff. However, due to liquor and food licensing restrictions we cannot have outside food or beverage in our restaurant, but food in our lobby is more than acceptable, as long as you are outside of our restaurant. We will be sure to follow up with our team on this, as we want all interactions to be pleasant. However, i am please to hear that most of your staff interactions were awesome as that is always what we strive for. Thank you for visiting with us and we wish you safe travels. Kind Regards, Chris K.

We chose this hotel due to the proximity to Dinosaur Ridge and other hiking destinations. This was an added bonus to the trip that we were making to a close friend's wedding. We were greeted pleasantly each time we entered, everything looked and smelled wonderful, and the staff even took the time to give compliments to my spouse. This meant a lot, because they are new to their LGBTQ lifestyle (trans woman) and traveling has been stressful as a result. I am so glad that they were able to comfortably present as they wanted here.

The Origin Red Rocks is focused mostly on an aesthetic that does not translate into the expected functionality of a hotel room. For instance, the rooms are not serviced so there are no clean towels but there are also very few places to hang wet towels because towel racks do not fit in to the hotel's aesthetic. Your coffee options are not great but you can pay $15 for someone to bring you what you need to make a french press pot of coffee. If you just want a cup of regular coffee you will struggle. You can rent a yoga mat or a mountain bike but you will not get a bar of soap, only a dispenser of liquid soap, like in a gym. The rooms are small and so are the supposed "queen" sized beds. These beds are not large enough for two adults. Bring a garbage bag with you if you are staying more than one night because no one will pick up your garbage and the garbage cans are very small. All of this would be acceptable if this was not the most expensive hotel in the area.

The young lady at the front desk was awesome! Very friendly and professional. Unfortunately that was the only good experience had at this place. The floors were dirty. Hair in the sink and on the hand towel. The flat surfaces of the furniture were not only dirty but the paint was rubbed off. The plastic glasses and paper coffee cups were not even wrapped in plastic and were stored right side up! If you plan on getting any sleep in this place you will need ear plugs. The bartender at Nomad (Bar in hotel) was a rude jerk. Very limited menu and overpriced food! I wouldn’t stay here again if it was free.

Let’s start with the positive. The staff. From the front desk, housekeeping, servers at the restaurant everyone was friendly, informative and did what they could for you.
The hotel does give a boutique vibe. Treats for your dog, guitar in the lobby, and chalkboard wall for guests to sign. It is the closest hotel to red rocks amphitheater, which is why my family of four stayed.
Would I stay here again? No, not even if it was complimentary. Our second day here the area had heavy rain. The hotel had a sewage smell that didn’t go away. It was in the lobby, halls, and in our room. I did go down to the front desk and was told it’s sometimes common for the rooms to have an odor after a storm. I was offered to change rooms, but at 11pm after our concert I was too tired. I did ask about air fresheners and was given an air purifier to use in my room overnight. It worked, but it was loud and woke us in the middle of the night….every 20 minutes all night long. I don’t understand how the smell wasn’t more concerning for other guests.
Even getting over the smell, my second issue is the bathroom door. It slides and has a window. We stayed as a family with two teens, and the lack of privacy was concerning. You can basically see through if someone is in the washroom.
One of the amenities at this hotel is the cool patio. However there is a sign that says no outside door or drinks. So you have to go to the restaurant. We did purchase a s’mores kit and wanted to have s’mores by the fire one night, but it wasn’t working because of the rain two days earlier, even though it’s a gas fireplace.
I am mad at myself for wasting the bulk of my Wyndham points staying here. When the smell started on day 2 of our 4 night stay….I should have switched hotels.

Berkeley Springs, West Virginia13 contributions3 helpful votesWhat is my best option for transportation to and from the hotel to Denver airport?
My friends took Uber from the hotel to the airport. Would probably be less $ than car service.
No. Use Lyft....they have it down to a science! Ask at the hotel. One of the servers at the bar, let us know about the whole setup for Lyft. They have a system at the venue that works great. Highly recommended!
The restaurant and bar are open as of our stay on September 24th.
