Clean room and facilities. Grab and Go Breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice working area. Nice to have a kitchenette. Good lighting and outlets. Comfortable bed. Indoor pool and hot tub open although we did not use them.
My partner and I arrived on Aug 15th for 3 night stay. When we checked in, we were warmly greeted by Angel who was the front desk agent on duty. He was very friendly, polite, and took time to answer our questions about the local area. Glenwood Springs has been impacted by the Grizzly Wild fires just outside town resulting in I-70 closures on both directions making it difficult for travelers heading toward Denver or westbound. The property itself was nice, well kept up, nice indoor pool/Jacuzzi area, rooms were clean w/ full kitchen. We were assigned room #425 which had a great view of mountains. All guests + staff were wearing masks in common areas. I believe Marriott has a must wear mask policy in common areas in all it's properties. I was not sure the local/state ordinances for wearing mask in area. Like many hotels, the hotel has temporarily suspended complimentary hot breakfast due to covid and offer "grab n'goes" which is a choice of assorted muffins or bagel, with a fruit cup, and bottled water. We end up using the "grab n'goes" for snacks. We took advantage of the kitchen in our room + cooked our own meals. We were disppointed that Glenwood Adventures was closed due to the wildfires. However, we ended up driving down Aspen for the day + did sightseeing. The next day enjoyed GS Hotspring + downtown GS. The only minor disappointment was the Target store nearby did not carry groceries so we had to drive to City Market a few miles away to buy groceries during our stay. A big kuddos to the front desk Angel for going out of his way for our requests. I definetly will stay here again.…
Stayed here a couple of nights while driving through CO. Nice spacious room, prompt service to our requests. Managed breakfast ok in covid times. No issues with mask usage, compliance made us feel safe. Nice location. I would def stay here again if in the area.
First, let me start out by saying that the room was clean, well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. All of the light blocking blinds were broken in every room so we could not roll them up during the day to get an exterior view...no biggie...we spent our days out exploring anyways. The big concern that we had was safety for our belongings and ourselves in our rooms that we assumed would be secure. We checked into the room with no issues (room 114) with myself, husband, and our 15 & 19 year old daughters. It was a 2 bedroom suite with a separate living area. We had only been checked in a couple of hours when our daughters decided to go to the indoor pool (which was clean) to swim for a bit after our long drive. My husband and I decided to walk down and check out the laundry facilities and chat without daughters for a few minutes while we waited on our supper to get delivered. We were gone for approx 15-30 minutes at most before my husband and I walked back down towards our room. As we turned the corner to walk the hall where our room was located, we saw a young male standing outside of our room. Somewhat perplexed and trying to figure out what he was doing, we walked a little faster and that is when we saw another younger male run out of our room, the door slamming behind them and they began running away from us. I took off as well and as they ran around the corner and into room 113. I immediately called the front desk where the young lady was very apologetic and said she would have her general manager look into it immediately. I told her the very vague description of the 2 young boys (approximate teens, one taller with darker hair, the other shorter with a lighter hair color). I heard nothing all evening so I walked to front desk to let them know that the young males had been in our stuff as our oldest daughter’s wallet had been rummaged through and was left laid open. Still no response from the general manager. I awoke the next morning to our daughters having pushed the kitchen chairs in front of the entry door out of fear of someone accessing the room throughout the night. I anticipated to hear from the general manager throughout that day but again, nothing. I went to the front desk again the following morning to ask if they had heard anything, again expressing my concern for our safety as well as the safety of our belongings while we were out during the day. I asked see if they could check if the hotel had issued another room card to our room or how the teens gained access to our rooms. They said that we probably "left the door open some so they were able to get in"....but if you stay in room 114, you will quickly realize the heaviness of the door and no matter how easy you try to close it, it will slam shut and lock (we tried several times before our departure to test their theory...never worked). The front desk associate said the general manager is aware and that they called all of the teens to the front desk in that room and that none of them matched the description. She said they had brown hair and some had red hair. My response was, okay well my description was dark hair and lighter hair and I saw them running out of my room and the door shutting behind them...all I want to know is how did they gain access to my room and can you look on cameras to see how long they were going through our belongings. Front desk associate said she would have general manager call us. It has now been a little over week past our departure and no calls from general manager after multiple requests. No explanation of why our belongings were not secure, no explanation as to why or how these young boys accessed our rooms and what personal items they were able to rummage through and take. The remainder of our three night stay was a very uneasy one...never knowing if someone could walk in on us or enter our room while we were away during the day. It would have simply taken a little customer service from the GM to reassure us and to make an effort to ensure that we felt safe and that our belongings were safe. Since our purses were gone through, we will now have to check our bank accounts and cards frequently over the next few months to make sure that our card numbers were not stolen and that our accounts were not compromised. As to the cash, well who knows??? Never had to deal with this type of issue, especially by a Marriott hotel but lesson learned.…
We had spent a week in RMNP amd needed a place to charge our batteries and water up. This resort is beside I-70 and only minutes from Glenwood Springs. This property borders the river. It has a rafting company on site and a zip line as well. There are cabins, rv spaces, and glamping tents available. Our 19 ft camper was riverside. The rv spaces were very close together, which is usually a big turn off for us. However, the rushing water from the river made it impossible to hear road noise or noise from other campers. The staff were all really helpful and nice. We enjoyed our time here and plan to stay again.
