Great location, clean hotel and good staff. I just wasn’t crazy about the room and layout. Poor use of space and lacked many amenities which have become standard such as fridge and coffee maker. I understand the historical aspect of it but needs some updating

When you check into a 130 year old hotel you have to expect things to be a little different. But the hotel is still magnificent with interesting furnishings and character throughout. The rooms could be updated with modern amenities, but wouldn't that ruin things? The rooms are comfortable and clean. There are nice amenities including a courtyard bar. And it's right across from the hot springs. So all in all, I can give this hotel 5 stars.

So first, what I liked... the historic aspect to it, so very cool. Also, incredibly friendly staff, very clean, great location... but the biggest criticism I have, for me, it's big: I have sleep issues. The walls are INCREDIBLY THIN for a historic hotel. Usually, old hotels have thick walls. Not so here. I could hear what my neighbors were watching on TV, their conversations, their burps, their farts, EVERYTHING. No joke. However, I'm prepared and I bring noise canceling headphones and my laptop, BUT... the WiFi is not good enough for streaming in the evenings when the hotel is full, which leads me to use my cell phone for a hotspot so I can listen to something with my noise cancelling headphones in order to sleep. My first night here, I slept about 2 hours total, here and there over 8 hours. I like this place, I wish I wanted to stay here again, but I don't and I won't. Go somewhere else.

Dear Jeremy C, Thank you for the review and for giving us the opportunity to improve. While we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the historic charm of our hotel and that our staff was accommodating, we sincerely apologize that you did not have a restful night's sleep and for the inconveniences with our WiFi. We completely understand how this made your stay unenjoyable and regret you were uncomfortable. I have passed your comments on to our team so that we can approach a solution. We are eager to improve for our guests and feedback like yours allows us to do so-- thank you, and we would be grateful for the opportunity to host you again in the future so that we may provide you with a more comfortable experience.
