Imagine waking up to the beautiful view of Pikes Peak (14,115 feet above sea level), the most visited mountain in North America. Visit Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds (try the Bat-a-Pult ride!) And other area attractions. Stay in a fully equipped Cabin, pitch a tent or pull into an RV site (including extra-large sites). If you are planning a rally or family reunion, this KOA has a hall for those scrumptious potlucks, or have them catered by the staff. During the summer, enjoy a dip in the heated pool or relax in the hot tub. Dont feel like cooking? Try the all-you-can-eat pancakes for breakfast or a homemade pizza or tasty barbecue plate for dinner. Pets will have a great time being with their families, meeting new dogs, running in the dog park or trying out the agility park. There are three horse corrals for your larger pets. With so many things to do at KOA and in the area, you will want to stay as long as you can! The campground staff looks forward to seeing you.

So, I bought out new 21' travel trailer this year, and needed a place to try it out. We live in Parker, 1 1/4 hours from this Fountain, Co (just south of Colorado Springs) KOA. When I was a kid, I remember travelling in our tiny trailer and staying in KOA's. I loved it. KOA was just starting out- trees were small, no pools, etc. Now, they have everything. We travel now with 2 teens, nice to have amenities. We stayed two times at this KOA, and had a blast. First, yes, it's by I-25. You hear traffic. On the east side is Fountain Creek which we heard more, after a rain, than traffic. You hear trains on the east side past the creek: an occasional rumble or whistle. You may hear, off in the distance, gun fire from the army base and revelry. It didn't disturb us. We picked this KOA for convenience and fun, and that's what it was, We chose a creek side deluxe pull through with concrete patio, big tree, fire pit and full hookups. The staff are super. Show you where to park; deliver purchased fire wood; answer all your questions. They have a nice store with some food, ice and stuff you may need. I forgot a coaxial TV cable; they had it for a decent price. On our 2nd stay, we even rented a golf cart. Boy, that's roughing it! But the family loved it. Cable TV, WIFI. The sites are neat and tidy and pretty level. Two bathroom/shower facilities, kept clean. Each has 3 shower stalls. The one near the entrance has handicap showers with extra room and seats. In August, I found the best time to use the shower in the AM is after 9. Had it all to myself. Our second trip was after Labor Day, never was busy then. They have lots of amenities. Best is their mini water park with slides and sound effects. Huge fun. They even kept it open after Labor Day, and that's why we came back. Also a small warm pool and hot tub open year round. Café offers yummy basic breakfast and food during the day. The pizza's are really good. Giant Chess board and Jenga; movies(Pikachu night when we were there), ice cream social, bubble machine, huge jumpy pad, wagon rides are fun- they have a theme with them; there's a playground. It's very family oriented; however, there are a lot of older campers that pulled in or stay there long term. It's a big complex with rows and rows of campers, mostly pull thru's; very well organized. Nice looking cabins, some 2 story; different tent sites including deluxe with covered areas with water and electric and soft ground. 2 nice laundry facilities. I used their clean outdoor kitchen area. Our kids took our small dog to the dog park and agility run. Dogs are kept on leashes otherwise, and I didn't hear any barking. Actually, I'm impressed at how well behaved and friendly veteran RV'ers are. There's a sense of community and privacy. Quiet time after 10. For campers, check-in after 12 and check-out by 11, but you can pay for late check out if available. There's a RV center next door if you want to look at latest RV's or have service needs. Down the road is a Love's gas/convenience store; Walmart or Safeway and restaurants, liquor store, etc., 10 minutes away. Kids had Chinese next to Safeway. We also drove to the super Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Lots of neat sites in the Springs. They'll give you a list of them plus a schedule of their activities. Easy to start fire with fire starter from store; roast marshmellows and smores. Slept well. I love it, can't wait until next season. Lot of fun. Great staff and well kept facility

This KOA was on the side of a busy interstate, so be prepared for lots of traffic noise. The campground was clean and well maintained with lots of activities for small kids, but there seemed to be lots of people living in campers there, so I won’t stay there again.

We took the grandchildren (7 & 9) here for a few days, and they had a blast. The small water park is good for their age group, but I think that is the target age - much younger or older may not enjoy the experience. They have a smaller than expected (for the size of the RV park) pool next to it, that was well used, and an adults only hot tub. It is also nice that they provide shaded seating so you can keep an eye on the children. I was a little surprised that the playground was somewhat limited in size, and things to play with. We were warmly greeted and escorted to our site. This is a large RV park with level gravel mostly pull through sites off asphalt roads. There is enough room between RVs to not be on top of each other, but they are close. The hookups were convenient and functioned properly, the included WiFi almost always provided a signal that was useful. They have a few cabins that seem to be well used. While we were there there were a number of families that were visiting together in multiple cabins.
