Detailed Reviews
Wonderful place to stay in Fort Collins. Location is excellent and very convenient to both CSU and Old Town. The place is an old mansion with rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor with common areas on the 1st floor. Kitchen is fully stocked with both utensils and ingredients and there are many places to sit down and eat. Kelsey and the staff are awesome - very helpful and welcoming. We'll be staying again.

I am so happy that we booked at Fernweh. The house is lovely and decorated in a super tastful but slightly quirky style that is charming. The accomodations were very comfortable and we wish that we could have stayed longer to use the kitchen and borrow the bikes. The staff (we spoke most with Kate) were awesome, with lots of great recommendations for the area. Easy walking distance to CSU. The price was VERY reasonable.

we just returned from 3 nights at the Hostel. It is such a great place. My mom and I stayed at the Tree house room while we dropped of my son at CSU. We love the communal kitchen and totally love the living room for yoga stretches and dining room to catch up on some netflix. The outside garden/patio is also a great place to hang out either in the hammocks or just on the couch. We love using the community bikes to take around town. The Poudre river bike trail goes everywhere and has the coolest covered bridges. You don't have to ride much on the road to get their and Loomis has a large bike path on the road. Ft Collins is the best and we'd always stay at the Fernweh. It's so homey and so close to campus.

I recently stayed at the Fernweh Hostel in Fort Collins, CO. Over al it was a great stay. The house is beautiful, well taken care of, the room was comfortable. The house has a beautiful back patio where you can lay in a hammock and relax. The hostel is central and you have pretty much everything you need at hand. The best part of my stay at the hostel was the women that work there; all of them were kind and helpful.

B&B, in great location near Old Town. We did have our own bathroom, though. Wouldn’t have shared during COVID, although staff explained cleaning. Low price compared to nearby hotels. A little road noise.

I've lived in many hostels in Europe and it was my first hostel experience in the States! With the low prices, I didn't expect I got a better experience than hotels! I love their lovely house, living room, and my getaway room. And great location--right in the downtown but quiet. It feels like home.
I would highly recommend for anyone who's visiting Fort Collins!

We had an awesome stay at the Fernweh Inn & Hostel. I found it by accident, after getting frustrated looking for lodging in Fort Collins. See, my daughter is a recent CSU transfer student, but her apartment was not ready for occupancy until after the first week of school. So I needed to find a place for her to stay that week. I was close to booking a week at an extended stay hotel-and was reluctant to do so-when one last internet search turned up Fernweh. And what a wonderful search that turned out to be!
Everything you see on the website and in the pictures is accurate. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful part of town, and even though I only stayed there one night (I came late with a van load of stuff for my daughters apartment), I had a blast staying there, any my daughter loved it. Kelsey is a wonderful host, and is really passionate about her property. We were given a tour upon arrival, and we were greeted by Cash. Instead of the generic feeling you get staying at a hotel or motel, you feel like you are staying with friends or family. Kelsey made me feel welcome when I walked in the door. I had never before stayed in an environment like this before. I am at a bit of a loss to explain it. It is how in my mind lodging should be, but almost never is. The closest experience I can tell you is that the residents there shared the camaraderie one might expect when out camping or hiking, yet you are in a hotel like setting. If this is how a hostel is supposed to be, I have been missing out!
Another review said it best: There is a great energy in the home. I cannot agree more.
I highly recommend you stop and see Kelsey and Cash if your travels bring you to Fort Collins. Staying at the Fernweh is how traveling should be done.

Just as promised - great room, exemplary customer service, and truly felt like home.
The other people using the hostel were kind and truly easy to get along. This place has the coolest alarm system, it is two cool dogs that just love ya to death unless you do not want them to.

Wonderful stay at the Fernwheh! First time to Fort Collin. Staying at the Fernweh immersed us immediately and we felt like we were locals!! We were in town to visit the CSU campus and the Fernweh was an ideal location, just 1/2 a mile from the University. They even had bikes for us to use, so we really go the feel of what it would be like for a student. The accommodations were excellent. We had reserved a private room, the "Treetop" which was spacious and had a private bath as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Felt like we were staying at a friend's house. Ideal and would definitely be my first choice when in Fort Collins!!

+1
We were lucky enough to snag a private room here. This place is relaxed, friendly, clean, and full of amenities. We stayed in the top floor suite, which has a fully equipped bathroom (complete with a soaking tub) and kitchen area. It is in walking distance to Old Town, and we felt safe as two women in a town they were not so familiar with. This place is whimsical, comfy, and invites people to enjoy the space. For example, after a great night, we were heading up the stairs to our room when I spotted the sign below. We had so much fun rooting through this hidden surprise! I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay close to Old Town.
