I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. While I am a loyal Choice Hotel customer, I’d never had the opportunity to stay at a Cambria before. It appears to be their top tier hotel. The hotel was nice and clean and I was upgraded to a huge corner suite. Thanks! The hotel is across the parking lot from a Fuzzy’s Tacos (yum) and an Original Pancake House. There is a huge shopping center across the street with a BJs restaurant. The area seemed nice and safe and I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in town on business.
We got our room through Hotwire, so did not expect a great room. We were traveling with our daughter for a college tour of Co State Univ. Our room turned out to be very nice with 2 separate king size beds, one in its own bedroom. The room was clean and very large with a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel normally offers a free breakfast, but since it is covid time, we were told we'd receive pre-packaged food in a bag. We weren't even going to go pick it up, but my daughter and husband were awake so decided to go check it out. The breakfast turned out to be very good! It was a croissant egg sandwich which we warmed up in the microwave, a yogurt, and an apple. We all ate them and were very happy! We were only there one night, but we would definitely stay there again if back in the area!…
True professionals! Loved the room, such an awesome view (Ask for room 410 or 412...the tower) Jonathan was the best front desk person I've had in awhile...knows his bld and goes the extra mile. Absolutely would pick them again. And if your into Gastro areas...this hotel is in one. Fuzzy's Tacos and an Original Pancake House within 3min walk. And many other great restaurants in the area (Doug's Day Diner 😉). And not far away is a Target if u need stuff.
We enjoyed our stay after the manager, Jonathan, made things right. Our room hadn't been prepared for 3 people, only 2, regarding towels and sofa bed linens. There was also only 1 single packet of regular coffee, an almost empty box of facial tissues, and an on-wall shampoo that ran out after our first day. The linens provided were adequate for only the 1st night, with only 1 towel exchange allowed every 3 nights. I've noticed that almost all the Choice hotels no longer provide daily housekeeping and clean linens and have no restaurant or lounge, nor the hot breakfast. Cold grab-and-go bags are a sorry substitute. (Actually, I did stay at a Clarion last month that provided guests with hot breakfasts that were prepared by staff and given to each customer. That was very nice and should be the standard.) The rates at the other Choice hotels, IMO, should be cut accordingly. Definitely on the plus side, the bed was VERY comfortable, and the TV screens were big. The coffee, when it arrived, was Starbucks and FAR superior to other Choice hotels. The pool was open by reservation. And, as I already, said the manager made things SO much better!…
The Cambria was extraordinarily clean, and the rooms are spacious. However, the rooms are starting to show their age with peeling wood trim and spackle stains on the wallpaper. In the public spaces, there were two glaring issues. One handrailing had come off of the first-floor stairs. Maintenance patched the holes left; however, they didn't vacuum the drywall dust from the repair. Second, the left side of the entrance awning had a huge break in one panel. It was exposed to the point visitors could see insulation. In the end, they need to pick up the maintenance. The Cambria is in an area with a large number of hotels. They'll continue to lose business if they don't keep up.
