Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Florence Rose. We were celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary and the innkeepers Bob and Barb went the extra mile to make our stay extra special. A lovely rose with a "Happy Anniversary" note, along with some chocolates greeted us in our room (the Elizabeth Ann room), that was filled with beautiful antiques. The entire Inn, as well as the grounds, are so charming. We loved sitting on the patio with Bob and Barb hearing the stories about the history of the Inn and how they came to own it. By the time we left, they felt like friends. The town of Florence (right outside of Canon City) is quaint with a lovely Mainstreet lined with antique stores that unfortunately were closed on the day we visited...so we have already decided we will be back to stay with our new (New Jersey!) buddies at the Florence Rose. ps. Barb's homemade cinnamon coffee cake at breakfast is out of this world! …
What an absolutely charming place to stay. The owners are very welcoming and the room is nicely decorated and cozy. There is a great patio area to hang out in. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Communication with the reservation was great. Close proximity to downtown Florence and the Royal Gorge.
This is an outstanding B&B. Bob and Barbra are great hosts, and the experience was better than expected. Why stay in a chain hotel for the same price when you can relax at the Rose? We walked to downtown on a nice evening and really enjoyed the small Main Street feel. Good selections for food, outdoor seating, and outdoor live music. We will be back.
My husband and I booked this place after seeing most of the hotels in Canon City were rated low. We rode the Royal Gorge train right before. This house is gorgeous and so well maintained and kept as original as possible. We were greeted by the couples cute little dog Penny and were given a tour. So awesome. Loved our room which overlooked the road. Nice breakfast layout the next day too. Highly recommend this place. Also Florence is such a cool old oil town with great history and a historic old town area to discover.
I stayed in the garden room, separate from the main house and enjoyed it. Very nice grounds and great place to stay with my dog and there is a hot tub in a separate gazebo room next door. Breakfast was continental, muffins, juice, tea, yogurt. The hosts were friendly. It was the end of a rainy holiday weekend and I was the only guest.
