The hotel is conveniently located very close to the highway. Unfortunately, I had a room that was on the highway facing side of the hotel, so you had to have the windows closed in order not to hear the noise of the passing cars. I was a little surprised because the booking was made directly through the hotel's website. It is said that you usually only get slightly inferior rooms when you book through an accommodation booking website.

The room was otherwise quite okay, everything was clean, but the furnishings were a bit plain and functional.

The hotel has its own parking lot, but I found no space there, because the hotel was well booked. However, there is a public parking lot nearby where I could park my car.

The breakfast buffet was generally acceptable, but the small pancakes were quite hard on one side and not as fluffy as one would have liked.

Dear John S, First we would like to thank you for your recent visit and for your review on TripAdvisor! We try to give the guests who book directly via our website a free upgrade, unfortunately this upgrade is based on availability. We are pleased to inform you we have renovated most of our hotel rooms at the moment. So hopefully, during a possible next visit, you will not find our furnishings plain anymore. Kind regards, Team Parkhotel Horst

Was looking for a hotel near Toverland that was affordable and offered air conditioned rooms. Found it through this site. Found this to be a very nice hotel that also offered free parking. In addition to free parking multiple Tesla charging stations were available. The room was nice and provided a great nights sleep. We ate at the restaurant for dinner but wern't really impressed. Breakfast was free and really good. I would stay at Parkhotel again when in the area.

The hotel rooms was good and so was the location. However the restaurant food was not up to standards and neither was the service.
The quality of the food was not good the curry did not taste like curry as it had no spices or any flavoring. The Sole was solid and not soft as it should be. The service was not good as the garnishes came after the protein was already finished.
Hotel staff in general was good.

Dear Hellmar, Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor and what a pleasure that you visited our hotel. We really appreciate you being so satisfied with the room and location. Too bad the food, on the other hand, was not quite up to standards. We would like to apologise for this. We have shared your feedback with our kitchen team for future improvements. With kind regards, Team Parkhotel Horst

I came for business trip to this hotel, everything was bad, they don't clean your room properly, leave your toilet super dirty, and when you tell reception people, they are rude and don't know that's the meaning of customer service.

Pleun on reception was extremely unprofessional, untrained, disrespectful and rude, unfortunately very very far away from actual 4 starts hotels in other places in the world.

location is ok, the lake was nice for a walk, but that is it..

I will make sure my company never book in this hotel again.

Hello, We are very disappointed you left this review following your stay at our hotel. The room was in order and clean before you arrived. We did our best to meet your requirements. Unfortunately, you expect our staff to clean your room and toilet every time after you have used it. We hope you understand that this is not the task of our reception colleagues, to do this several times a day during your stay. Kind regards, Management team Parkhotel Horst

The room was very disappointing, it was thick dust everywhere, finger marks all over the windows, cobwebs in the bathroom, dead bugs in the bath, grout in shower mouldy, a door stop behind the door so doesn’t open fully, making it difficult to get in through the door.
No mirrors in the room, very poor lighting for getting ready the only mirror is in the bathroom, overall I was very disappointed especially the cleanliness.
I wouldn’t stay here again!

Seems to be a quite new hotel, or at least renovated not a long time ago. Spacious rooms with large bed and a bathroom with bath and seperate shower.
Very close to the A73 highway.
The rooms at the back have lakeview.
Restaurant 'Bøff' is nice. Small card but the value price - quality is good.
Went for a swim in the small swimmingpool downstairs. It was clean and well designed.
Overall very good hotel with good service. They clearly saved money on the hotel room television's quality 😄

We were promised a certain prize for an overnight stay during an event. When I booked they came with a much higher prize.
Their argument, the cheaper rooms had all been booked. Great for them, Then find a solution. But do not make it the problem of the customer.
And the solution is very easy, just another room in another category.
But obvioulsy the hotel is not client orientated.

Dear 494bartk, First we would like to thank you for your recent visit and for sharing your experiences. We are sorry the room type you preferred was sold out and you had to book another room instead. When a particular product is no longer available, it is more often the case that you can choose another (and sometimes more expensive) alternative. We may advise you to book directly next time or perhaps on another date, when the preferred room type is available. Kind regards, Team Parkhotel Horst

We enjoyed staying at Parkhotel for 2 nights. We were welcomed by the receptionist with 'You must be Mr. X', very personal reception! The room we had #220 was big, had wide beds and a spacious bathroom with both shower (bit tricky to adjust to hot water) and bathtub. The windows of our room were directed towards the motorway exit which was not ideal, but the noise is minimal so sleeping was no problem. The swimming pool is small but has a jacuzzi. Next door is a mixed gender sauna (clothing forbidden) which we enjoyed. In total there are 3 saunas. You can rent bathgowns from the reception at euro 7,50, but bathtowels are for free. Both breakfast and 3 course dinner in the hotel restaurant were excellent. Nice view of the small lake from the restaurant tables. All in all very good.

The location was perfect by the lake and have a beautiful view. Friendly employee and with the swimming pool inside. Breakfast is ok.

The room don’t have air conditioning which is very hot in the room,

no refrigerator,

no free bottle of water ( even 3 stars hotel they have it ),

No thee or coffee facilities.

The food is expensive compared for what you got.

They shouldn’t let employee with uniform having drinks in the restaurant it self ( rules of the international hotel all over the world).

We went here for the Sylvester package deal and could only make reservations for the suite, so we did.~I was a bit restrained since I found it to be pricey. The suite was a nice big room, the sitting area, well, I did not really care for the decoration and missed a bit of a light- source, the coat rack... bit too modern to be usable. The bathroom could be accessed from 2 entrances, which I didn't really found to be handy, the bath was nice and spacious though, the shower had two kinds of showerheads, which was nice. The toilet was lacking a brush and there was a bit of a pinkish rim at the shower door. There were coffee making facilities and a fridge, complemantary bathrobes, a safe and free wifi, which was all very much appreciated, as was the lovely view from the room. The bed was okay, but tended to 'split' during the night, let's say the distance grew between me and my husband during the night... and none of us was to blame...
Enough closet space, but could use a light over there as well.

Staff was, from beginning to end, lovely, polite and now and again even funny! Dinner and dinnerbuffet were great, good quality food, creative dishes and the waiter was great as well, had a nice discussion about wines and wine/food combinations.
At the bar I especially loved the beer- suggestions from the Hertog Jan Brewery. The brewery was closed for the holidays, but now we still could sample the beers, with a sampling platter, nice !
Breakfast was abundant, fresh, the soft boiled eggs were actually 'what it said on the lable'!

We've enjoyed the wellness area very much, it was nice and quiet and for a hotel there are a lot of wellness facilities. There's also a pool, so do bring swimming gear.

Did enjoy the Sylvester party, allthough quite a lot of 'old people', but everything was well taken care of. Still... my initial feeling of 'bit expensive' didn't go away.
