We stayed here for 4 nights. We had a wonderful spot just up the hill from the train tracks. Our boys loved watching the trains to by everyday. The showers/bathrooms were clean. The laundry room was huge and the machines worked great. We used the trolley our last night there with no issues. Can't wait to go back!

We are new to RV'ing and this was our first RV park visit. The place itself is nice, clean, off the road and pretty quiet. It isn't very big which is also nice, but the spots are pretty tight and very close to each other. We had to maneuver our travel trailer so that it would fit between the trailer... More

I did a review for Lightner, comparing it with United. Both have showers, pool and store. I loved Lightner, but my family prefers United for camping in Durango. I do love that you pitch your tent on a soft lawn. We went again beginning of August. More crowded than the weekends we usually go in June but I don't think... More

Campsite was great! Owners were friendly and the shop/store was convenient. The free trolley was nice and my daughter and I used this to do some shopping while the boys fished. A little difficult pulling into the spot we were assigned based on the proximity of other campers but the effort was definitely worth the work. Thank you for the... More

This is our first stay at United but 4th visit to the Durango area. United is very close to the Animas River (a highpoint for us), and the narrow gauge train runs at the edge of the campground several times a day - very neat. The showers, bathrooms, and laundry are all kept very clean. The pool is spotless. The... More

We seledted this campground based on 1) free trolley to town 2) train runs through the campground and 3) pictured on Trip Advisor. Our stay was pretty satisfactory with the exception of our campsite assignment. Like so many places they want to put two sites on one pedestal and our rig is set up for the side other than that... Experience started of on a great note. Called to make a reservation and was told that all we needed to do was show up. When we arrived about 6pm we were told we didn't have a reservation. While they were shuffling through paperwork I found the slip that had our name on it. They pulled it out of the pile... More

I can't say enough good about this place. So impressed that I was not hesitant to go back 2 days later after an unexpected breakdown with a friend's motorcycle. Beautiful campground, excellent showers and bathrooms, train comes through campground around 8:10 am, grass well manicured, plenty of shade, and very friendly staff. Free trolley that runs every 20 minutes into... More

This was my second stay in two years. The sites are well shaded. The pool is nice. The Silverton-Durango goes right though the campground so everyone has fun watching the historic engines and cars go by. The FREE shuttle stops at their driveway and takes you right downtown and can connect you with other buses that for a dollar go... More

Just attended the San Juan Brewfest in Durango, 46 breweries, 100 beers to sample [responsibly]. We had 2 travel trailers next to each other for Fri. and Sat. nights and really enjoyed our stay. Big trees, very clean restrooms and the added bonus of the Durango & Silverton train going through the campground twice in the morning and twice late... More
