Walter and Jodi are truly fantastic hosts! I cannot say enough about their hospitality.. The breakfasts are fantastic! In the evening they serve dessert. One night we had peach cobbler with ice cream and the next bananas foster. Fresh baked cookies are available all day long in the living room. Wine, beer and soft drinks are available all day long at...

Walter and Jodi at Country Sunshine run a clean and comfortable establishment just outside of Durango- close enough to get into town easily but far enough out to enjoy peaceful breakfasts on the back deck. We used this location as a touring base for Four Corners, Hovenweep, Mesa Verde, Chimney Rock, Silverton, Ouray and Teluride which are all easy day...

This place is great. Stayed in The Golden Oak Room--just lovely. Breakfast & desserts were beyond expectations. Lovely home in the mountains. Offers a fridge full of goodies, a huge lit fireplace and a great evening dessert. Enjoyed all the guests. Walter and Jodi are wonderful hosts, would definitely go there again. Great pets too!!!

This is a tucked away B&B with about 10 miles north of Durango. It is rustic and comfortable with wonderful owners and staff. They are accommodating of individual dietary needs and serve a fine breakfast. It features large upstairs and downstairs sitting rooms with comfortable furniture, a refrigerator stocked with four different New Belgium beers along with water and non-alcoholic...

Hands down, the most welcoming bed and breakfast in the Rockies.... Inn keepers Jody and Walter go out of their way to make your visit a warm and welcoming experience. I can't imagine staying at any other place in the Durango area. Book early, as their hospitality is spreading and harder and harder to book a room........ 😊😊

Jodie, Walter and Nora went out of their way to make our three night stay pleasureable. The plusses? The Aspen bedroom was topnotch. Walter's breakfast creations, in turn, were as tasty as any that we have had in B&Bs. His mid-evening (7:30-9:00) desserts, though, along with ample space to socialize with the other guests earn Country Sunshine a value rating...

Stayed with Jodi and Walter for four nights, nothing more than excellent can describe this B&B. From the minute you arrive, the welcome is most friendly, the surroundings are beautiful, and the accommodation first class. Breakfast is a joy, and sitting round the table with all the others guests sharing the various trip information, things to see etc that everybody...

I can't say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, the room was very comfortable and inviting, the food is out of this world, and the innkeepers are so nice. We loved loved loved staying here and will definitely stay here again. This is an absolute gem!! Did I mention the food?! Sooo good. My...

We only got to stay one night. Wish we had time to stay longer. Very peaceful. Owners lovely. Very close to Rockwood train depot for our soaring adventure. Bed comfortable, place homey and food good. Great cookie Walter.

Can't add much to the many reviews, I can only confirm that it is a great place to stay. We spend three weeks in the US and this was by far the best. Uncommon for the US (no offence); we enjoyed a great breakfast and had a nice conversation with an American-Turkish couple.
