First the good. Sign up for the tour! Debra was interesting and vivacious. Totally worth it. The skylit lobby is unparalleled. Our Ellyngton's waiter, Michael, was spectacular. Nice room decor. Comfy bed. Appreciated the TV streaming capability. Now the disappointing. The TLC of former owners still shows, but the new owners are letting it go. One of the two elevators was broken our entire stay. A cleaning cart sat in the middle of the hall our entire stay. Room phone for calling front desk was nonfunctional. Hotel info we were given at check-in was missing phone numbers; we had to Google the concierge number, but they didn't answer anyway. Concierge desk had very limited hours. No newspapers available in the morning. The old woodwork is in desperate need of refinishing. Doors and trim need fresh paint. There's redecorating going on, but it's slapdash. I don't expect an historic hotel to stay static in time; new decor can be fresh and modern and still look appropriate. Here it seems like the decorators just bought random stuff out of a catalog without even visiting the hotel. We love The Brown and enjoyed our stay, but if you're accustomed to staying in four-star hotels, you will be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I came to Denver for the first time for our anniversary week. We decided to stay at the Brown Palace for two nights since it was highly recommended on websites. He booked me a deep tissue massage and a mani/pedi, since I’ve never had any of these. We had reservations to attend the “Afternoon Tea.” We checked in and I began working (remotely) at the desk. He went to lay on the bed and I told him “you’d better check the bed” because I am a nurse and I’ve seen bed bug issues with patients, so it’s always on my mind at hotels. He pulled the top sheet (not even a sheet under a mattress or anything, the main top sheet) from the corner of the bed and we found clear evidence of a bed bug infestation; blood and feces. Definitely not our blood since we hadn’t even sat or laid on the bed yet. So either our sheets weren’t changed at all (they confirmed someone was staying in our room the night before and had checked our hours before we got there) or there’s a very active infestation and it happened after they changed the sheets. We were completely disgusted and packed our belongings and called the front desk and told them. He laughed and said “I doubt it’s a bed bug,” which I know it is. He asked if we wanted a new sheet to change the bed ourselves. Again, as a nurse, I know a sheet change isn’t going to help whatsoever. He then offered a new room, w refused and went and checked out of the hotel. Once he say the pictures, he apologized and refunded us for our room. He said he’d comp my spa visit, but I declined since there’s no way I’d be able to relax and enjoy it after knowing the hotel has bed bugs. They did not offer to find us another Marriott hotel or any other help. So, we had to venture out at midnight looking for a new hotel. No one from the hotel/manager has contacted us even though the gentleman at the front desk emailed them photos urgently. This was an absolutely horrible experience and we will never go back there. Besides, the rooms look super old and dated (not in a cute, vintage way) and even the lobby chairs were gross. And we’re worried about our luggage and belongings. We will likely have to pay to have our items dry cleaned.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry for the frustrations you experienced during your brief stay. As I mentioned in my voicemail, we immediately completed a full inspection of your room after your departure. We found no evidence of any pest activity in the room. To be sure, we have our pest contractor coming today to inspect as well. We take these concerns very seriously, and will complete our due diligence to ensure all of our rooms are ready for our incoming guests. I am eager to discuss your concerns in more detail directly, so please feel free to return my phone call at your convenience. Thank you, Nick

An elegant setting, like no other we've been in before. Discovered it during a walkabout and got great drinks and service. HOWEVER, it IS a cigar lounge and some folks might not like the fumes. We don't smoke and it was fine for us.

stayed at the brown palace on two occasions this past May 2021. First time, their were water stains on the ceiling, a/c did not work that well. Second time, the restroom door would not close all the way after this floor, according to the front desk clerk, had been completely remodeled. Not a very good job remodeling. room was very hot. Ellyington's Restaurant was terrible. Cannot make a poach egg if their life depended on it.

On Monday we were not able to eat lunch or purchase either food or beverages at the hotel. The restaurant and bars were closed, as was the grab and go concession - the only available option was high tea, We were directed across the street to the Holiday Inn where there were vending machines. Also, only one of the two elevators was functioning, resulting in long waits.
