My wife and I took a trip to Colorado in October. We were gone for a week and of the week we were at The Curtis for five nights. Four nights in themed rooms one night in one of the regular rooms. Overall the hotel is fantastic. The location is great just steps away from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and like two blocks from the 16th Street Mall. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The theming and decor of the hotel are extremely fun. We stayed in the Fun & Games and the Sci-Fi themed rooms. Both were very well done and very fun. The regular room we stayed in fine, just a bit on the small side. My only complaint about The Curtis was the bathrooms. They were small and the showers had a tendency to get water all over the floor. If we were to find ourselves back in Denver I don't want to stay anyplace but The Curtis.…
I had a total of six nights at The Curtis - three nights in the Video Game themed room and three in the Ghostbusters room! I must admit I booked this hotel almost solely because they had these pop-culture themed rooms. I thought that was such a cool touch. Indeed, I was very impressed by the Video Game room which actually featured a good old-fashioned arcade machine in the room itself. So damn cool! Wow! I can't believe they had a room like that. The arcade was excellent, and offered a number of different games - classics such as Donkey Kong, Pacman, Asteroids and Bombjack. I had lots of fun playing the machine, and it was a wonderful nostalgia ride to my youth in the 80s and early 90s. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, with a fairly nice bathroom as well. It was also very clean, with all the COVID-19 precautions and measures in place, albeit there was no housekeeping during my stay. It was only available upon request. The hotel also didn't offer breakfast (except for Saturdays and Sundays I believe) and for the most part, the restaurant on site seemed to be closed or very quiet. In the room, there was a fridge, but no mini bar, so I'd recommend stocking up on snacks. Due to the hotel's central location in Denver, there are many places nearby where you can buy stuff for the room. The reception area also had a fridge with soda and water. Overall, the room offered most of the amenities I would expect of a Hilton, including good Wi-Fi and a good TV with lots of channels. The AC also worked fine, although it was very noisy. My Ghostbusters room was also super cool. It had a framed photo with autographs from the cast, and a very cool mural. There were also a nice effect on the floor, which looked like slime, and some cool photos from the movies. As a huge fan of Ghostbusters, it was definitely fun to stay in that room (and we watched the movie on a laptop while staying there, of course). The floor and public places were horror-themed and decorated with some very cool things from classics like The Shining and Poltergeist. Indeed, many of the floors each had a theme - like superheroes, TV shows and more. Really cool touch. Overall, a great hotel in a very central location and it was fun to stay in the themed rooms! I would definitely stay again.…
Booked with only 19k points with Hilton diamond status. Room was upgrade to high-floor corner room. Front desk was welcoming and friendly. The room was labeled with cleaned with Lysol. Breakfast was offered by a nearby Starbucks. For a 19k points or 100usd hotel, it was a good choice. The only thing I don’t like was the air conditioner, which is big, old and noisy.
Staying in this hotel is A LOT OF FUN! The decoration is incredible, you walk into the lift and feel like you enter a cockpit. Take the time and stop at the different floors - lots of fun things to see! My favourite floors were 13 (Horror) and SciFi. Staff is great and forthcoming, Customer Service is wonderful! Cool people, it's a lot of fun to be there!
For the price of the rooms, customer service should be top notch. We arrived a little after 4:00PM to find out our room wasn't ready yet. Check in time is apparently 3:00 p.m.. We tried to be understanding, but the front desk girl was less than apologetic. She basically acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there, and shooed us away. After waiting about 20 more minutes, we went up and asked if it was ready yet. She kind of seemed confused, as if we haven't spoken 20 minutes ago. She finally texted someone to check. It needs to be inspected she says. We're tired. We just traveled all day. So we tell her we don't care if it's checked. She finally gave us our key. We got the Star Trek themed room. It was cute. a wall mural, a few books, and some curtains. It could be fine up a bit more. But it was cute. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. The restaurant attached was awesome. Delicious food. No doubletree cookies, apparently due to Covid. Super disappointed, but I guess we understand. The parking area was confusing. We couldn't figure out how to put in our ticket, and card. So we ended up paying with our credit card just to get out. There was a pile of cars behind. We got another charge to our room. But we called, and they took it off. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointing stay.…
