The location of this hotel is great for hosting a meeting with people flying in. It is close to the airport. The restaurant was good. Service was a bit slow, but accurate. The meeting facilities are good for medium to smaller sized meetings.

Our room was fair and the property really needs a renovation. The Front desk staff were fair and not very friendly. We are a Gold Member and they didn't even offer us a complimentary bottle of water. We had to pay $5.00 for two bottles of water. The best part of our stay was the shuttle driver to the airport. Very good and very accommodating.

I want to first say that as you can see from my other reviews you can see I always stay at a holiday inn. I’m a ihg member and have stayed at holiday inns since I was a little girl. So when my in-laws (86 year old grandmother) had an 8 hour layover there of course I would have them stay at only the best, at a holiday inn! So I call and made the reservation with the 1-800 number. And I Specifically asked them if it would be a problem for my aunt to sign for the charge of the room that I would not be there with them, and I was told that would be no problem at all because I was at IHG member and I had my credit card on file and I even double checked the number to make sure they had a good debit card number. So my aunt called me and said they took my credit card and they charged me she’s an older lady and did not speak any English so I thought maybe she just didn’t understand so I told her don’t worry I will call them and see what’s going on so I called and the lady that answered the phone was extremely rude she kept talking over me and cutting me off I had to raise my voice and remind her that I was an IHG member and we were the “guest” I was so upset that I made myself not write the review right away, She told me that at that specific location I would have to sign and permission slip basically for her to sign for my car but I did not have a fax machine or printer to print off an email. I also told her they didn’t have the money to pay for the room. And she said “ their card went through,” well yes, but that money was for other things, this is why I asked if it would be a problem. I could have gave them cash when they where with me that morning. I asked her what her name was and she said “Amethyst Wadsworth.” I asked her how did she spell her name and she said A-M-Y, I asked her again and again she said A-M-Y. So I said “ I don’t know how to spell Amethyst and she said A-M-Y is all you need to know. Then she said “ just so you know who your talking to, I’m the AGM here at this location “ then hung up the phone. No goodbye, nothing. I’m not sure if this was due to them not speaking English or being not from this county or what, but I have never had anything like this happen. I did have to call back and ask why they charged her so much and I spoke with a very nice man named Miguel. He explained everything to me and he was very Patient and friendly. Maybe she could learn something from him. I’m truly sorry that I have to leave a review like this.

Response from GregM3820, General Manager at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Denver Airport

First of all I want to apologize if any of my team members were rude to to that is not acceptable and it will be addressed, I also apologize that IHG reservations informed you that your that grandmother could sign for the charges on the room because they can't without the proper credit card authorization form and IHG did not communicate any of this to us in the reservation. Thank you for being a loyal IHG member and again I'm sorry this was not handled correctly from the the beginning because had IHG informed you the steps needed for your family to use the credit card we would have got them taken care and made this easier for them. Please fell feet to contact me if I can be of any assistance and I can assure you this this will be addressed with my team to make sure we do a better job in the future. Best Regards Greg McKenna

This hotel is only about a 10 minute drive from Denver Airport and offers extremely comfortable beds in a reasonable sized room. There is a half hourly shuttle bus and the only problem was trying to discover where the pick up point is at the airport. There is nothing on their website and they did not respond to my 2 emails. In desperation I had to ring them from the UK. We discovered that the bus leaves at xx15 & xx45 from Island 3 near Door 512 and we would have missed it had we not known in advance. Other than this, it was perfect for us.

We liked our stay here! The room was nice, bed was good, inviting furniture, a fridge for our food, nice shower. Not a new hotel, but kept very well! They let us have real glasses for our wine in our room too.
