Yes, the location is great if you want to be downtown, right of the 16th Street Mall. And the service is quite good. The gym, located in the basement, is big and well appointed. My room was better than average, but it was clean and comfortable. I wasn't looking for ultra-luxury, so no disappointments. (I do wish however that the room would have had an in-room safe. I had to use the safe at the front desk.) As an aside, and nothing to do with this very nice hotel, is the presence of all the potheads and dope smoking in this town (state, really) . I'm no prude and don't get me wrong, everyone has a right I suppose to their own sedation. But imagine walking down the street with, say, your family or a prospective new business client and walking thru a cloud of weed, wretched smell in the air - that's no exaggeration. Especially prevalent on the aforementioned 16 st mall & the free shuttle that runs in front of this hotel. But that's Denver for you now. It was great back in the '90's. Not it's sort of a confused metropolis, trying to be all things to all people.

I'll start with the positives. It's a great location, right off the Downtown Mall and a Free Mall Ride bus stop right outside. You can easily hop on the Mall Ride and get to Union Station and connect to the airport train and/or dozens of other places to go in the area. Also a block or two just North of the light rail lines that run South. Dozens of good food establishments all around it, including a cool bagel shop next door called Moe's. You can sit out on the mall and relax with a coffee and/or just walk the area. The lobby is nice and spacious, there is a large fitness center in the basement along with laundry services. Laundry was a bit more expensive than I thought at $3 for wash and $2 to dry. Hotel doesn't include the traditional Courtyard Bistro but it has a restaurant inside. Rooms are huge and we had a city view off of the Mall. It was quiet enough and the windows are floor to ceiling. Bathroom was old and the tub was a little dirty. The negatives in my mind were the bathroom, the overall stench/odor of the building wasn't great and as a Titanium Marriott Awards member, I wasn't thanked for my loyalty nor offered a welcome gift when I arrived unlike other Marriott properties I've stayed in. Staff was young and mostly helpful. Plenty of Marriott options in this area -- do your research and find the best one for you.

Walking distance to shopping, dining, convention center. Parking at the hotel is expensive, but you can park yourself in public parking just a block away for much less. Sam's #3 is a diner across the street that serves everything from breakfast (all day) to beer and cocktails to milkshakes to Mexican to wings to ... pretty much everything, and it's all priced as you'd expect as a diner. Park yourself and eat at Sam's - that's my advice for saving yourself some money.

The entire experience at this hotel was amazing from beginning to end. All of the staff was kind and considerate. Specifically Andy, Tuoa and Stephanie. The room was huge with big fluffy beds and a bathroom with a tub. The ceilings are very high so the windows are huge giving you so much beautiful sunshine in the room. The tvs were smart tvs so we could sign into netflix and youtube. The staff always made conversation with you every time you saw one of them. The location is awesome. You're right next to the 16th street mall which has a free bus to let you go up and down the street for all the shopping and restaurants. This was one of my best experiences if not the best experience at a Marriot and it made me love Denver even more.

While the entrance was charming and the location is great (but so are 2 dozen other hotels), the room smelled weird, never got below 72 degrees (even with the air set to 67 both nights) and the curtains did not provide enough blackout. The rooms are also dated and need a refresh. For the price this hotel isn't worth it - there are plenty of others in the area that are better. While the bed was fine and so was the water pressure, it takes a lot more than that for a great hotel.

Dear mollypollywog, Thank you for your comments. I can not imagine how the HVAC unit must have inconvenienced you along with the smell and I am sincerely sorry. We have addressed the concerns and will continue to be even better moving forward. mollypollywog, I am confident we are a much better hotel and have a better culture than the experience you received and hopeful to have an opportunity to regain your faith in us. We wish you the very best and hope to serve you again soon.
