.... and NOT for the better! For many years, this was our choice hotel and casino for our fun drive up to Cripple Creek. The last 2 visits were very disappointing. Unfortunately, the 'happy' is decreasing, the 'hoots 'n yips' from excited winners felt fewer and the service staff felt very stretched (1 cocktail waitress serving 2 floors on a... More

Stayed here for a business meeting and the business took the hotel off its list of places to stay in the future. The hotel needs major routine maintenance, has a VERY confusing layout, with average food and beverage service, and room prices too high for what you get unless you are a gambler. NOT kid, elder, or disability friendly.

Nice room. The staff works well to provide the room requested. They provide breakfast each morning with the room and it is not hard to get the room and evening meals paid for. The casino attached to the hotel makes it very convenient.

A friend I've been taking care of is dying from pancreatic cancer and part of his bucket list was to stay at the presidential suite and play the machine that's been at close to a million dollars for years .... This was all taken care of for him ! The staff was absolutely amazing and catered to him all day... More

Met friends there as we were staying just outside of Cripple Creek at a RV Park. The friends gambled and did very well (that means they actually won money!) But what we really enjoyed was the staff...literally everywhere!. The people working there were so nice. If you eat dinner there at Lombard's ask for Kevin. Top of the line waiter.... More

My husband I love going to Cripple Creek for a little get away. Our biggest complaint was the "Seafood Buffet", it was horrible. No flavor at all in any of the food. The worse buffet ever. We've been to plenty of casino buffets and this was the worst.

We went the first time before Valentine's Day to avoid the crowds. I felt the customer service was excellent throughout the entire hotel and casino. Everyone was there to help. I felt the room was very comfortable and I especially liked that it was quiet even though it was directly above the casino. We enjoyed ourselves at the casino and... More

Hotel was not comfortable at all!!! Bed was hard, pillows flat and very small room. They need to update badly. Casino was ok. No service for drinks while spending money. Had to search for employee to get something to drink. One good thing is received a free meal but that was the only positive

Older hotel, decorated in 1980s,90s style. Fairly clean though. The stay and play is a great deal, especially if you are over 50, you only need 50 points! Good deal with the free breakfast too. Special thanks to Brandy at the front desk, she is wonderful!

Have stayed and gambled at the Double Eagle many times over about the last 15 years. Prior to this month's stay I had not been here in about 5 years. I noticed a tremendous difference. Most notably was the staff down sizing and the lack of maintenance. The Double Eagle was and still is the best hotel and casino in... More

Travis, Thank you for writing a review on the Double Eagle. Our little town has gone through some severe changes over the years and it has created owners to have to close their doors. We do try to make every single guest feel welcomed and hope we are able to get the guest whatever promotions are available at the time... More
