My spouse and I stayed at Cloud Camp for 4 nights because the Broadmoor was full and don’t regret. Being at 9000 feet and having amazing meals and amazing service and spectacular views when we have breakfast on the Decks is unique for us.
We would have given 5 stars but we heard music and furnitures moves around from our room 81 07 the last night until 1 30.

Overall the place is amazing. Views. Service. Food. More views and the activities.

Couple downsides which were huge for me.
This is listed as a pet free establishment. I had noted on my check in prior to arrival that I have a severe life threatening allergy to dogs (i have to carry an epi pen). Upon arrival at the cloud camp lodge i was greeted by a furry black dog that lives in the lodge. They did their best to keep outside during my time at cloud camp but i did suffer some allergic reactions due to residual dog fur/dander in the lodge. And my last morning I had to spend the last hour before I left outside since they let the dog out while I was there. Very unfortunate and not a happy ending to my stay there
So be aware there is a dog in the lodge

Other point. Dinner - amazing but be prepared for a 3-4 hour ordeal. Supposed To be served at 6. The first night the first course was served around 7:15 and the 2nd night it was closer to 8pm before the first course was served. Lots of choices and the food is fabulous but know if might be late before you get to eat.

Overall I recommend but highly disappointed about the dog situation

Very pleasant unique experience. Drive up to the Broadmoor south tower valet. Edward will greet you , he will give you a luggage tag and car tag. The car is wisk away by a driver. Your luggage is wisk away in a storage room until the Cadillac arrives. Edward is cool. Then you wait for the Cadillac. While your waiting, there are very nice restrooms close by. In the five diamond restrooms are washcloths to dry your hands. Walk around the broadmoor take pictures of the beautiful resort. Golf course, swimming pool, lake, paddle boat, flowers, and when the Cadillac arrives load up your luggage. The driver drives through the Cheyenne mountain zoo to get to the steep paved and dirt rutted one lane roads. When you arrive your greeted by the cloud camp staff and by moose the beautiful well behave dog. Your offered a cold beverage and a tour of the lodge. Your itinerary is yoga, mule riding, crafts, cocktail class, archery, all kinds of yard games, board games, socializing, and drinking beverages. It's a all-inclusive retreat with lunch, breakfast, dinner, and snacks. Just getting up there is a experience itself. Good time. Good place. Good people. Thank you, take care , stay in good health, and have fun. It was my staycation in Colorado. Rita Bennett and Steve Nordstrom Denver natives.

We visited Cloud Camp for 2 nights after attending a wedding in Denver because we wanted to get a better feel for Colorado . Cloud Camp exceeded our expectations . By no means are we campers but we do love the outdoors , good food and great service , Cloud Camp checked all the boxes . Kurt and his Staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed . We enjoyed hiking and archery , cooking class was informative and all of the food was comparable to the fine dining at the Broadmoor . We especially enjoyed hiking as we were able to view the beautiful Pikes Peak from many different angles . Being able to relax in the hot tub under the stars was enjoyable as well . We highly recommend Cloud Camp .

This place is incredibly beautiful and I’m thankful that some man had the means to forge a road up the mountain and build a lodge here (this is version 2). It’s stunning. I feel like I’m in a Wild West show but the Indians are all in paintings. The staff here at Cloud Camp are phenomenal. Carmen, the concierge is warm and accommodating. Kurt, the manager is young, strong, handsome (ladies, he is 31 & single!) and very on top of things. We had excellent service from Kaylie, Nateesha, Megan, Rebecca, Danny, Gabriel (I love my Chilean friend), Stacey (so sweet) and Beth ( Hilarious). The breakfast crew & rangers are equally kind but I need a certain amount of caffeine to remember names. Come to this magical place, at least for 3 days!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Cloud Camp. We had visited the Broadmoor before but this was our first time at Cloud Camp. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Hannah, Gabby, Stacey, Ryan, and Peter are just a few folks that made our stay so lovely.

We found two nights to be enough. We had plenty of time to take a few hikes, enjoy the hot tubs, and do yoga and archery. Chef Randy never disappoints and the food was great for every meal. We really enjoyed sitting around the communal table and making friends with the other guests.

We visited in early September and the weather was perfect. Warm during the day and cool at night. Definitely worth a visit!

We came here last year for our anniversary and returned this year with our daughter and her friend. Kurt is a wonderful manager and Moose the huge puppy is absolutely adorable. The food was spectacular, the views are always stunning and all the activities are so much fun. There was a little disconnect this year because everyone was frantically getting ready for a wedding while we were there and us other guests got forgotten about a bit. I love meeting different people from different places at the huge dining room table. My only gripe is that I wish this would be a playground for adults only. It is a bit dangerous for kids hiking on the mountain and there is plenty for kids and families down at the Broadmoor or Ranch. I have four kids of my own and would like to relax and enjoy the surroundings without young children.

My husband’s company reserved the Cloud Camp Property for a company appreciation event and it was an amazing experience. We loved everything about it. The hospitality was second to none - the shuttle driver, the property manager and his adorable sidekick doggo Moose, the staff we encountered throughout our stay. As soon as you arrive, you’re offered anything and everything you can think of that you might want or need. We had amazing food and drinks, an abundance of relaxing activities, gorgeous views, live music and a cozy lodge fire. The hot tub cannot be skipped! They’re made of cedar and the smell is as great as the atmosphere. Would love to visit again.

Just returned from a week in Colorado including 2 nights in the Fire Tower at Cloud Camp. The facility is well made/laid out and provides one of the best overlook views in the West. The all inclusive food was very good, as were the drink selections. The curated (hiking, archery, et al) and uncurated (pickle ball, etc) activities were great for the remote site, but could wear thin after a few days. This place generally caters to those who are looking for downtime (and it does that very well). While there were a few families with kids, the resort was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely return.

Me and my husband had an amazing time at Cloud Camp. Such a unique place to stay! We went during the last week they were open of the season and even got some snow. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to their guests. With multiple activities and ways to relax it is for sure a great place to come for the weekend. We stayed at the cabins on site and also got to stay in their honeymoon suite. Both rooms where clean and provided plenty of water bottles for elevation sickness. The food is amazing! I have included photos of the food/menus for ideas. We are picky eaters but tried everything and was not disappointed. I highly recommend this place to others even if you can only afford a weekend stay.

Can one hike up to the cloud from the Zoo?
Answer from ChaskaMN
Chaska, MN12 contributions1 helpful vote
Hi - the winding asphalt to dirt road goes from the zoo, past the will rogers memorial (Shrine of the Sun) up to Cloud Camp. it is fairly steep and has 15+ switchbacks past the Shrine alone. There are also several gates we passed thru and private property signs from the Memorial up to Cloud Camp. If you are a Guest at Cloud Camp, I believe you can ask to be dropped off down towards the memorial or zoo to hike up. Generally they start you at the Mule barns (higher up than the Memorial and on Cloud Camp property) if you want to walk up. In addition, the MacNeill Trail on the back side of the property also has a small gate and signs signifying its private property towards the very top (this is a very nice hike)

We found 2 nights at Cloud Camp was enough (we like to do activities and they get a bit stale after 2 days. if you like relaxing, its a different story). In addition, its kind of a hassle getting up and down the mountain and takes 30+ minutes each way with limited bus runs. We stayed down at the Garden of the Gods Resort (fantastic views) first for 2 nights and did white water rafting, broadmore zip lining and hiking around the GOG. it was super convenient.

As I understand from speaking to a couple of the employees when we stayed there, the shuttle is the only way allowed to get to the Cloud Camp. however, as far as visitors, you should check with the staff. I don't believe they would allow visitors under normal circumstances. Its an all inclusive place which means all activities, food, drink, etc are included and they may be hesitant to allow a guest who has not paid.

No cars are allowed at Cloud Camp except for the Broadmoor shuttle cars. You leave your car at the Broadmoor.
