The Broadmoor emerges as an epitome of luxury, with many guests lauding its opulent atmosphere and extensive amenities that include sumptuous dining options and recreational facilities. Nestled in a picturesque location ideal for business and leisure, the hotel offers spacious and elegantly decorated rooms. While the service is generally held in high regard for being personalized and attentive, some guests have noted additional fees and occasional slow poolside service. Despite its high cost, which some travelers find excessive, the hotel's cleanliness and quality experience receive consistent praise.

We spent a week at the Broadmoor in late August with our family (kids and grandkids) in one of the cottages. We had heard many good things about the resort from friends but our experience was better than we could have ever expected. The resort is spectacular; the entire family had a terrific time. The cottage consisted of four bedrooms, a small kitchen (with fridge, microwave, utensils, glassware and serving ware), a dining table, a large common area and a large outdoor patio adjacent to a stream and the golf course. The furnishings and decor in every room were first rate — marble heated floors in the bathrooms, a big tub in every bathroom, nice linens and towels, lots of hooks for wet clothes, lots of plugs for all the devices, tons of seating in the living room. It was as comfortable an arrangement as we could have wished for, accommodating our six adults and three kids. I don’t know if the regular rooms in the hotel match up, but ours were five stars all the way. Our room was extremely quiet at night. The beautiful infinity swimming pool was a bit of a walk from the cottage (a small pool by the cottages would be nice!) but was great, with two water-slides, great food and beverage service and excellent staff. We bowled twice in the on-site bowling alley, which was great fun. The gym is comparable to a health club in terms of equipment, and I took two complimentary yoga classes. My wife and daughters said the spa was fabulous. My son-in-law is a golfer and he says that the two courses on-site are among the best he has golfed anywhere. There is a small playground near the pool, which the kids enjoyed. We ate a few meals on the property (separate reviews for those) but we also ventured off the property and found good restaurants within a 15 minute drive from the hotel, which were very good and less expensive. There are many excellent trails near the hotel for hiking or trail running, which provide great views of the entire city. The kids enjoyed all the deer and rabbits roaming the hotel grounds. Weather was warm with short thunderstorms a few late afternoons, which cooled things down. There were several conferences going on during our stay but the hotel seemed to accommodate them easily without interfering with our enjoyment of the property. The hotel offers all kinds of excursions — we took a very enjoyable e-bike tour of the Garden of the Gods. All in all, we had a fabulous week at the Broadmoor and would recommend it highly.

I am normally an Air BnB type traveler or a Hilton or Marriott traveler if I need to grab a hotel by an airport. For work trips I get to stay in the fancier resort hotels and in my younger days, worked in a Five Star hotel in Florida. The Broadmoor has been on my bucket list for years now and when a girls trip was planned for Colorado this summer we added a night here to our itinerary.

The one night stay truly exceed my expectations. The hotel is an historical gem and my senses had a hard time taking it all in (so much to see!). We were lucky to be able to check in early and had a Classic room in the main building overlooking the front lawn. The room was wonderful and loved having a hallway to the large bathroom which made it feel more like a suite. The staff checking us in couldn't have been better (extremely professional) and it was a treat to have a knowledgeable bellman bring our luggage to the room and make sure we were all set.

I never saw one dead/brown flower anywhere, the green grass was extremely lush (kudos to the landscaping team and lovely climate), the swans on the lake were perfect and everywhere you looked was beautiful. We spent an hour or more just touring the grounds and figuring out where things were located. We had dinner at the Italian place and it was very good. Loved the gentleman playing the bagpipes around the lake. Not sure how long he played but great touch. We also had lunch at the Golden Bee and it was beautiful inside. You really just feel like you step back in time when you are there.

The hotel is expensive and you can rack up a large bill really quickly but I knew that going in so wasn't shocked. Didn't love the 20% automatically added to the dinner bill and then adding a tip. Would have been nice to have a towel hook outside the shower. There wasn't one so had to place towel on the floor. That would be an easy fix to add.

Would I return? DEFINATELY! I've thought about it every day since I left haha! Would like to stay three nights at least and be able to settle in, enjoy the amenities more, go to Seven Falls and just enjoy! It was such a treat to stay at The Broadmoor and I now know why it is the longest running Five Star hotel in the world! A big thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Broadmoor the week after Christmas which I later found out is one of their busiest weeks. We have stayed at the Broadmoor before and each time it has been exceptional. This time it was even better than expected due to the kindness, understanding and assistance of all of the staff but especially Christian Rolla, the assistant manager. We had to check out early due to my husband's off-site accident. Mr. Rolla made my requested special arrangements in a timely manner and without blinking an eye. Reservations for dinner and a falconry lesson were cancelled without a charge. Our car was dropped off in front of our building and the bell hop brought our luggage to that drop off location so that my injured husband did not have to walk to the main lobby as is customary. Mr. Rolla listened attentively to my story about the accident and was very sympathetic and concerned. We both experienced care and compassion by all the staff.

Besides the care, courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness of all of the Broadmoor employees, the environment was gorgeous and well maintained. Our handicap accessible room was beautiful, clean and on the sixth floor with a balcony and a large window offering exceptional views of the city and Christmas lit grounds. The room was quiet (despite the hotel being fully booked) and close to the main building. We had room service for 2 dinners since all restaurants were fully booked and we traveled with our dog. Brenda with room service was extremely helpful. Our food was warm and tasty and delivered promptly at the requested time. The turn-down service staff left clean towels, water and chocolates as promised. Our most significant regret besides my husband's accident was that we had to leave early. Hopefully we will be able to return soon. Thank you to all of the exceptional staff and a special thank you to Christian Rolla, staff manager, who treated us with professionalism and warmth. Nancy

The Broadmoor - located in Colorado Springs, Colorado - is a luxury resort not to be missed. We had the upmost pleasure of staying at this iconic Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star resort and had the best time.

During our stay, we immersed ourselves in the hotel and experienced world-class amenities, exquisite dining, & unparalleled service. The hotel's architecture was inspired by the Italian Renaissance and made to fit into the mountain landscape, with intricate details & finishes. The resort's grounds were meticulously landscaped, and featured lush gardens, fountains, & breathtaking mountain views.

We checked in at the main building and bellman Sean helped us with our luggage; he was professional & attentive and ensured we got to our room with all of our bags without issue. We stayed in the Edith K. Gaylord Suite.

The Edith K. Gaylord Suite at The Broadmoor was a luxurious hotel suite nestled atop the Lakeside Building. With some of the best panoramic views of the mountains & lake on the property, it was a dream stay.

The suite's opulent decor and spacious layout created a sense of timeless elegance. From the cozy fireplace in the bedroom to the expansive balcony & terrace, every detail was designed for ultimate comfort and relaxation on the grandest scale. The beautifully appointed living room and dining area were equally impressive.

The Broadmoor is dog friendly, and our dog Forbes enjoyed the suite as much as we did. There were dog treats, dog bowls, and a dog bed waiting in the room upon our arrival.

During our stay, we enjoyed meals at Ristorante Del Lago, Summit, & Sunday Brunch in the Lake Terrace Dining Room. We also visited Café Julie's in the morning for coffee and pastries from the onsite bakery. The chocolate filled croissant was next level. For a quick healthy lunch, we grabbed smoothies and a tuna bowl from Natural Epicurean.

During our stay we checked out the Forbes Five-Star Spa for a couples massage. My masseuse Emily gave me a classic Swedish massage that was pure bliss (this is one of the best massages I have ever had). She effortlessly stretched & unknotted across my muscles, melting away tension and stress. Each movement was a gentle reminder to relax and unwind. It was the perfect way to recharge & leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

The Broadmoor is a true five star resort! Excellent service from the second you pull up to the door and until you leave. The grounds are magnificent and The Broadmoor is located in a beautiful setting on Cheyenne Mountain. The daily resort fee covers use of an excellent fully staffed fitness center, indoor swimming pool, outdoor hot tub and lap pool, locker rooms, and viewing museum quality western art throughout the hotel. Many famous people have stayed here. The lobbies, pathways, and all the common grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed a beautiful classic king size bed room in the West Tower with a nice view of the lake and it was very quiet and comfortable. The two white swans, Canadian geese, and ducks on the lake are fun to listen to and watch. It is expensive but you are paying for great service, a beautiful location and large bedrooms with twice daily maid service and turn down service, valet parking, bellman, and concierge services. There is a daily parking fee to park your vehicle. They do add a 20% gratuity fee to all food and drink order so you need to expect that and plan accordingly. The Broadmoor is an expensive place to stay with lots of added fees so budget appropriately.

The Broadmoor is a destination in it of itself. With sweeping views in every direction and well appointed rooms, you immediately feel transported when you step on the property. The staff is seasoned with a key eye for detail and a friendliness that you don't often experience. Unfortunately, the food overall was quite a disappointment.

My husband and I dined at 3 of the restaurants and we found that overall the quality of the food was closer to that of a cruise than a five-star hotel. Please mind you that we are not foodies by any stretch and when speaking with other guests (~15 people) the feeling about the food was shared. From a $70 ribeye that was served untrimmed, drowned in butter and covered in garnish to cold chicken tenders and hardened fries to watery poached eggs - it was not a pleasant experience.

We have just spent a week at the Broadmoor for our annual summer holiday. We have had a wonderful relaxing week and loved every minute particularly our walks by the lake first thing in the morning. The pool on a hot day is wonderful and the children had a blast playing there and in the little playpark. Both staff and guests have been so friendly and this is something we really value. Staff that need a special mention are 1) Mohammed (who met us on arrival and looked after us all week) and Reggie - both were so friendly and kind to us 2) chef Ana at Epicurean and her sous chef who went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requests .. always smiling etc . Her food is excellent and the bowls she makes fresh are so delicious 3) Shirley who transported us to various places - so helpful and kind. They all went that extra mile and it made a huge difference to our holiday! A few other points / areas of improvement:
1) on arrival we realized our lovely bedding was feather and asked for it to be replaced with non feather bedding due to allergies etc .. the bedding that came wasn’t nice at all.. hard lumpy pillows etc we would expect as good a quality bedding as feather !! Perhaps also it’s something that should be sorted out before arrival.
2) Whilst Epicurean offers the most wonderful fresh lunch bowls.. it is closed two days of the week. On those two days we tried packaged sandwiches from Epicuean/Julies and we thought they were poor quality. One of them was old / slightly stale and given the cost this isn’t ok!!
3) we tried every restaurant on site and the epicurean lunch (fresh bowls) were the best. Dinner was also outstanding at the Italian. We also really enjoyed the steak at the grille. The tavern sadly was a disappointment and we probably wouldn’t go back. The hotel could definitely work on its menu to provide more variety and ensure that sandwiches are actually fresh etc
4) the hotel and amenities are generally very expensive . The fact that a guest can’t even visit the spa to use the steam room etc is a shame given the amount you pay to stay there. We felt the hotel could include more perks for its guests such as this.
Apart from the points above we had a wonderful stay.

I've been to many 5 star hotels all over the world. The Broadmoor is very beautiful as you would expect. The problem is you walk away feeling you've been nickel and dimed at every turn. You expect everything to be priced at "resort" pricing. I get that, but even the "grab and go" coffee and tea is an additional 10% service charge. Restaurant dining is a 20% service charge. Room service is 24% plus $6 delivery plus tip. Daily "resort charge" is another $42. My room was average at $805.00. It's not the guests job to directly pay the staff. Definitely, not left with a good feeling being nickel and dimed.

The restaurant Ristorante Del Lago delivered one of our entrees under cooked and cold. We asked them to try again and they did. More importantly they missed the opportunity to comp a desert, glass of wine or comp that particular entrée. Again, you walk away with a less impressive experience.

Too many things not right, so I can't recommend this hotel.

I visited the Colorado Springs area every year as a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s, but hadn’t stayed at The Broadmoor since then. We stayed there 6 days in July, and although the grounds are beautiful and our room was nice, I was disappointed with the experience.

The food was mediocre in all of the restaurants, except at Ristorante del Lago, and very expensive. Our son and his family joined us for 3 days, and because they have small children, the reservations staff steered me to the Eastmoor Suites building, which was isolated from the main resort, and lacked nice common areas. We had to trek on over to the Main Building, or the West Building to get out of our rooms, and always felt a bit like we were interlopers.

The valets were friendly, but we waited way too long every time we got our cars. This was not fun with small children in tow.

We paid for admission to Seven Falls because we had made reservations at the 1858 Restaurant there, but the need for tickets was selectively enforced. One night we needed them, the other we did not. Both times we rode the Broadmoor shuttle there. Felt we’d wasted quite a bit of money when we didn’t need to show our paid admissions.

The children enjoyed the playground, but it was small, and sometimes very crowded. It was not adequate for the number of children staying at the resort.

The children enjoyed the indoor pool. I was glad it was available.

I’m not sure I’d ever stay at The Broadmoor again.

Harken back to the good old times when service and opulence were the norm. Beautiful period pieces and decor in lavish over the top charm. Housekeeping, custodial and service workers that are genuine, inviting and insure you are well taken care of. A front desk that does remind you of those days of yore when you as a customer were made to feel fortunate and lucky to even have been allocated a room to stay. A bit snobbish and unyielding unless you pushed to get what your pricey room rate should allow for.
Add in a 3/4 full latte for $9.50 and burgers and fish tacos for mid $20 pricing, and a 20% service charge added to everything you buy and you do have the joy of feeling wealthy that you can afford to stay where many presidents have. It is beautiful, maybe even decadent but with Comparable pricing of Hawaii and NY city ...hmmm..yeah..you get the drift

Broadmoor West is on the opposite side of the lake from the main hotel. It is nice, but you have to walk a ways to get to any of the main hotel ammenities, i.e. - the spa, pool, golf club house, breakfast dining room, etc. I would always choose the South Tower which is adjacent to the spa and looks over the golf course.

They have a little theater and a playground by the pool as well as a bowling alley. The pool has a children's space with two water slides. If you're planning to stay a day by the pool and go to the bowling alley in the evening I would only stay one day at the property and explore the Springs on the other days.
