The Broadmoor garners acclaim for its stunning amenities, which include a well-maintained pool and spa set within picturesque grounds, though guests have noted some extra fees. Accommodations at the Broadmoor are consistently praised for their comfort and historic charm, offering an atmosphere that many find transports them back in time. While the rooms' cleanliness receives high marks for being spotless, a few travelers have pointed out that some room features feel dated. The service stands out for its professionalism and warmth, but not without occasional hiccups and unexpected charges. Although the location is celebrated for its convenience, especially for those with mobility needs, the overall value proposition is sometimes questioned, particularly due to the pricey food and additional fees for amenities that some guests expect to be part of the package.

My husband and I went the day after Christmas for two nights. Check in was smooth and we were assigned the South tower . The rooms are updated in the South tower. Our view was the parking lot unfortunately, even though we asked for a room with a view. The room was very nice, small hallway to the door prevented noise except for the slamming doors. Bathroom was nice. Beds comfy. We called down for ice and waters and they brought them right away. Great service. The resort was packed with kids running around and the indoor pool was a madhouse. Lots of kids on break from school, so it was crazy. We were only able to get reservations at two of the restaurants due to overcrowding. You are not allowed to have even a pizza delivered and if you want, say a pizza , you must walk all around the lake to get to get it at the Italian restaurant which had no reservations available. The food is super pricey-- delicious of course-- but prepare yourself for at least $100 to $150 for two -- no drinks even-- per meal. Do Not order room service!! The first night we were told it was a three hour , yes a three hour wait for food.. how crazy!!-- next night, we tried again . It took 45 min. We ordered one quesadilla, a pop and a beer it was over 60.00 dollars.. they tack on a 24% charge and an additional $6.00 charge for delivery-- so ridiculous. All restaurants automatically tack on 20% for tip no matter what-- just be aware. I think for one night just to experience this place is ok... anything over that you will pay, pay, pay!! The bowling alley costs $75.00 per lane -- only 3 or 4 lanes and of course zero reservations available. It may be best to go off season and prepare yourself for super high prices, limited reservations available-- and bring in your own snacks and beer or soda etc.

Hotel's Favorite
Beyond human nature, I look for what's wrong, no matter how minor. I think I was this way before I spent more than half a century in journalism but now, as a curmudgeonly octogenarian with a little money, I take the search for failings as a matter of pride and perhaps prejudice. I've recently spent two days exploring the Broadmoor (but barely scratched the surface of what this vast resort has to offer) and one night sleeping there. Before I review let me say: If you've read criticism based upon the price of anything at the Broadmoor, from a drink at the 19th century English pub imported piece by piece by the builders, to the little shop in the lobby, those folks were staying at the wrong hotel/resort. If paying $35 a nite for valet parking (which certainly could legitimately irk someone) or alternatively walking two blocks, past an antique Pike's Peak steam engine (I think a past owner owned the railroad) to the self park garage upsets you, you should probably not consider the century-old Broadmoor. Or, if you think a fancy place like this should act like its poop doesn't stink, should not allow a kid in bathing attire to run through the lobby or - God forbid - allow ANYONE to walk their dog there (yes, you can bring Fido)...look for another resort. From the front desk staff to a room service delivery person, from the lobby dripping with incredible art (can anybody say "C.M. Russell"?) to the most modestly priced room (just kidding, no such thing) the Broadmoor manages to simultaneously ooze over-the-top luxury and be as laid back as a Best Western Motel. In a word: it is incredibly comfortable. I looked hard for negatives and I found them, alright. In my daughter's suite I would definitely have put a different painting above the fireplace. And, horrors, I spotted a house fly. Probably came in when they left the balcony door open whilst sipping Champagne (he had just proposed) but none the less. In my "modest" room...give me a second...still thinking...no, nothing. Oh wait! The bed sheet was tucked in a little tight. I had to work at forcing these old legs under the covers. Finally, consider this. This resort has had 3 different owners in the past half century and has never slipped from the Forbes (formerly Mobile guide) 5 star rating... has held it longer than anyplace else in the country. I suspect the ghosts of owners' past would haunt the living daylights out of any owner or staff who let quality slip even the tiniest bit. The ONLY reasons not to stay there are: you aren't in Colorado Springs; they haven't got a room (all 784 were booked when we were there); or you don't want to/can't spend the money. In conclusion, as I mentioned: I am 80; I thank God every day that I can afford to stay at any hotel in America; and the Broadmoor is - for me - as close to perfect as anyplace I have ever stayed or ever hope to. Oh and the impeccably manicured grounds are absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for reading.

This was our second trip here to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. They are always just next level when it comes to service and making my birthday girl feel special. The room and bed were amazing, we looked out over the lake with a Juliet balcony. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was just beautiful and spacious-perfect for a family of girls! The concierge was very helpful in helping me plan dinners while we were staying. The Summit was extra special, and the meal was wonderful. I can't say enough again about the service their people provide. From check in, to the housekeeping staff, concierge, and restaurant staff-- everyone seemed to love their job and had a smile on! We will definately be back again!

My husband and I stayed at the Broadmoor the week after Christmas which I later found out is one of their busiest weeks. We have stayed at the Broadmoor before and each time it has been exceptional. This time it was even better than expected due to the kindness, understanding and assistance of all of the staff but especially Christian Rolla, the assistant manager. We had to check out early due to my husband's off-site accident. Mr. Rolla made my requested special arrangements in a timely manner and without blinking an eye. Reservations for dinner and a falconry lesson were cancelled without a charge. Our car was dropped off in front of our building and the bell hop brought our luggage to that drop off location so that my injured husband did not have to walk to the main lobby as is customary. Mr. Rolla listened attentively to my story about the accident and was very sympathetic and concerned. We both experienced care and compassion by all the staff. Besides the care, courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness of all of the Broadmoor employees, the environment was gorgeous and well maintained. Our handicap accessible room was beautiful, clean and on the sixth floor with a balcony and a large window offering exceptional views of the city and Christmas lit grounds. The room was quiet (despite the hotel being fully booked) and close to the main building. We had room service for 2 dinners since all restaurants were fully booked and we traveled with our dog. Brenda with room service was extremely helpful. Our food was warm and tasty and delivered promptly at the requested time. The turn-down service staff left clean towels, water and chocolates as promised. Our most significant regret besides my husband's accident was that we had to leave early. Hopefully we will be able to return soon. Thank you to all of the exceptional staff and a special thank you to Christian Rolla, staff manager, who treated us with professionalism and warmth. Nancy

Enjoyed a post Christmas visit at Broadmoor to recover from a busy Christmas season. What impresses me the most about the Broadmoor on addition to beautifully appointed rooms and immaculate grounds is the welcoming greeting you receive from the staff as you encounter them during their daily routine. You don’t pass a Broadmoor staffer who doesn’t greet you with a warm smile or acknowledgment. The Broadmoor is the whole package, five star food and service, top rated golf, a holiday wonderland.

We have stayed at the Broadmoor over the Christmas holidays for several years this most recent stay was not up to our expectations. We booked a 2 room cottage, which worked great for our family of 4 adults and two children. We loved having a living room in addition to the 2 bedrooms. Unlike previous stays there was no water in the mini fridge. We had a reservation for the Zoo lights and really appreciated the shuttle bus and the drivers. That is a great service. Our complaint centers around the quality of food. We had a bowling reservation, we were told we would have plenty of room for all of us and food. Not the case, we shared the space with another family and we had no place to eat anything. We were rushed off our lane and our dinner was placed on a table in the dining room. By the time we got to the table the food was cold and very unappealing. Definitely will not return to the bowling alley again. Breakfast the following morning was terrible. We ate at Ristorante Del Lago. Service was extremely slow and once again most of the food was cold. It tasted like it had been on the buffet all morning even though we ordered off the menu. We love this hotel but will probably look elsewhere for future holiday experiences. I did fill out the comment card that was in our room and mailed it back to the hotel. Never heard back regarding these similar concerns, thus felt the need to leave a less than positive review here.

After 35 years of being neighbors and visiting for conferences and wine tastings, we finally decided to splurge on a stay at the hotel. The hotel itself and grounds are absolutely stunning!! The ambiance is worth the visit. Our room was a surprising disappointment. Outdated furniture ( and not in a charming period piece kind of way), no water in the room, no turndown service (was very much looking forward to that), and a crummy view of the air conditioner and parking lot (see photo). To boot, the work crew was outside our window at 7 am working on the HVAC. Checkout is confusing. You need an activated card to get out of the garage, so once you check out you are stuck. Seems like a broken process. The front desk said we could just let the attendant know that we paid for parking on the room, but I’ve been through that boondoggle before at this resort (and had to pay twice for parking), so I asked that they please reactivate our card. They did so begrudgingly reminding us that they have never had a problem…then we found the garage unmanned. Had we not had an activated card, we would’ve had to pay again or trudge back to the hotel. Also, of note…they add a gratuity to every purchase. Don’t make our mistake and tip on top of the tip. Overall, the broadmoor ambiance is grand and worth a visit. I’ll continue to enjoy a glass of wine or two on the lovely grounds, but I probably won’t book a room again.

Holiday traditions vary widely by family, but no matter how your fam chooses to celebrate Christmas, you’ve probably become rather attached to the traditions that you’ve established. A new family Christmas tradition that we’ve just begun (and hope to continue) is visiting the iconic Broadmoor Hotel in “The Springs” during this time of year. If you’re able to get here soon you might still be able to enjoy their “Gingerbread Lightning Bug” creation which, amongst other ingredients, contains 958 pounds of powdered sugar and required approximately 308 “Elf Hours” to complete. For risk of being placed on Santa’s naughty list, I cannot tell a lie. Therefore, I confess that I have absolutely no idea what the Elf/Human Hours Conversion Rate is, but that’s nearly 40 typical “human” workdays! 🤯 If you’re looking for a little treat while strolling around their spacious grounds, we’d recommend “Cafe Julie’s” for a little coffee/tea or a sweet treat. Hope to see you next Christmas, Majestic Broadmoor! And that’s…Henry’s Take. #majesticbroadmoor #coloradochristmas #christmasinthesprings

First of all, we love the Broadmoor. We were there this past weekend for my wife’s birthday and they had decorated for Christmas the day before we arrived. The staff were great… our room was great… the spa was great, overall a great experience. However, the dining was disappointing at all venues we tried… especially Ristorante Del Lago. I don’t know whether this review should be for the resort or each individual restaurant, but here goes… Ristorante Del Lago was the worst… my wife’s kale salad was terrible… she could not eat it, and my Caesar salad was edible, but not Five star great. My wife’s lobster dish was pretty good, but my lasagna was dry, overcooked and not very tasty. I asked for some marinara to put on it, but it didn’t help a lot. Accompanying bread was cold, tough, and chewy. Olive oil tasted kinda rancid and we had to ask for butter instead. It was my wife’s birthday, so we got a free desert… dark chocolate cake, which was not at all tasteful. We had a bite each and left the rest. Service was not as attentive as we would have liked and we could not understand him very well. Overall, a very poor experience… especially for a birthday dinner. The Grill at the Golf Club… had lunch here the day we arrived. Very mediocre. Clam chowder was mostly potatoes with very little clam. My chili cheese dog was less than memorable, but not worth $18, and my wife had the mahi mahi tacos, which were adequate, but not worth anywhere near $26. Service was adequate. Terrace Cafe - We had breakfast there two mornings, but skipped the $95 brunch buffet. I won’t go into details about the breakfast, but everything we had was lukewarm and mediocre. The ambience was great, but we had rather have had food from IHOP. Day one bagel was tough and not warm… same with biscuits and gravy on day two. My wife sent her skillet potatoes back as they were not even close to the “well-done and crispy” that she had requested. Service was adequate, but not what one would expect at a 5 star resort… and food was definitely sub-par. I hate to rag on a beautiful, historic, place like the Broadmoor, but at a place like that, you should at least come close to getting what you paid for. We did not. By the way… the rating was for the overall experience… the food we rated in a separate review as a 2.

Great place to visit over Thanksgiving Holiday. Food was excellent and plenty of activities for the kids. Only negative was the DOGS and their owners! I love dogs but a Great Dane or a hound dog barking come on man! Why? Some people had multiple dogs takes up the entire elevator.
