Beautiful and amazing! The staff was very helpful and friendly. So, why not 5 stars? The bathtub had a lot of dust. You know when you are soaking and there is a dust ring floating around the tub? The other negative: a lot of people were smoking. I’m not sure of the policy, but walking around, the cigarette smoke was bad. We had a nice dinner at the Italian restaurant. The large windows were open and we had a nice view of the lake. This was an expensive dinner, but all it takes is one person (or more) walking by smoking a cigarette or cigar (which happened) to make the meal less than perfect. I’m wasn’t sure what the policy was in regard to smoking. I want to compliment our server, Steve (or Steven). He was very attentive and gave suggestions for wine and dinner. We only stayed one night, a once in a lifetime splurge for us.

Beyond human nature, I look for what's wrong, no matter how minor. I think I was this way before I spent more than half a century in journalism but now, as a curmudgeonly octogenarian with a little money, I take the search for failings as a matter of pride and perhaps prejudice. I've recently spent two days exploring the Broadmoor (but barely scratched the surface of what this vast resort has to offer) and one night sleeping there. Before I review let me say: If you've read criticism based upon the price of anything at the Broadmoor, from a drink at the 19th century English pub imported piece by piece by the builders, to the little shop in the lobby, those folks were staying at the wrong hotel/resort. If paying $35 a nite for valet parking (which certainly could legitimately irk someone) or alternatively walking two blocks, past an antique Pike's Peak steam engine (I think a past owner owned the railroad) to the self park garage upsets you, you should probably not consider the century-old Broadmoor. Or, if you think a fancy place like this should act like its poop doesn't stink, should not allow a kid in bathing attire to run through the lobby or - God forbid - allow ANYONE to walk their dog there (yes, you can bring Fido)...look for another resort. From the front desk staff to a room service delivery person, from the lobby dripping with incredible art (can anybody say "C.M. Russell"?) to the most modestly priced room (just kidding, no such thing) the Broadmoor manages to simultaneously ooze over-the-top luxury and be as laid back as a Best Western Motel. In a word: it is incredibly comfortable. I looked hard for negatives and I found them, alright. In my daughter's suite I would definitely have put a different painting above the fireplace. And, horrors, I spotted a house fly. Probably came in when they left the balcony door open whilst sipping Champagne (he had just proposed) but none the less. In my "modest" room...give me a second...still thinking...no, nothing. Oh wait! The bed sheet was tucked in a little tight. I had to work at forcing these old legs under the covers. Finally, consider this. This resort has had 3 different owners in the past half century and has never slipped from the Forbes (formerly Mobile guide) 5 star rating... has held it longer than anyplace else in the country. I suspect the ghosts of owners' past would haunt the living daylights out of any owner or staff who let quality slip even the tiniest bit. The ONLY reasons not to stay there are: you aren't in Colorado Springs; they haven't got a room (all 784 were booked when we were there); or you don't want to/can't spend the money. In conclusion, as I mentioned: I am 80; I thank God every day that I can afford to stay at any hotel in America; and the Broadmoor is - for me - as close to perfect as anyplace I have ever stayed or ever hope to. Oh and the impeccably manicured grounds are absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for reading.

Our stay was a time of celebrating with a large group of friends. The stay was most enjoyable from start to finish. We had lovely accommodations in a building facing the main building. Hotel staff worked very hard on delivering an excellent experience. The multimedia decorations were impressive and memorable. Meals were delicious. We had a wonderful time.

I stayed at the Broadmoor for 4 nights this week for a legal conference and it was just delightful. Pros: -I arrived at 11 am well before the 4 pm check-in so there was an understandable delay. Alice at the front desk upgraded my room to a fantastic suite. -My suite was absolutely stunning. Large, comfortable bed, separate study, step in shower, and plenty of amenities; -I had huge windows and doors that opened to the most incredible lake/Mountain View. (Tip-Main is the place to stay for that view). It really took my breath away; -The entire hotel staff is pleasant, courteous and they seemed to jump on every request; -The conference facilities were nice and overlooked the mountains in certain areas. -Fantastic spa overlooking the mountains; and -Convenient (paid) shuttle service from the airport. Con: My only con is that they don’t have 24/7 room service and shops close early. But that was a minor issue. After the first night, I made sure I had snacks. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A seamless stay. Everything from check in , dinners , housekeeping and room service was a 10/10. Staff was very helpful and kind. Food is very very good. Scenery is breathtaking and the rooms GORGEOUS. So many hidden gems here from the walls with pictures of famous people who have stayed here to many lounge areas with fireplaces. Fresh roses everywhere and beautiful artwork.

I’m currently staying at The Broadmoor historic resort for a work event and am so moved by its charm, elegance, extraordinary attention to detail and warm service throughout. My room, 4607, is a premium king room in the West Tower with a lovely view of the mountains. The entire property tells a story and there is so much to discover at every turn. From the many original works of art to the manicured grounds, you’re in for a rich and rarified treat. Plan several days to explore all the resort (it’s really more like its own small historic village) has to offer. The room is quiet, plush, extremely clean, gorgeously appointed and supremely comfortable in every regard. It’s the kind room that makes you want to sink into the chairs or bed for hours. It has every amenity you need for a comfortable and productive stay. It’s the kind of room that simply makes you feel special. Room service was delicious and elegantly presented. And every staff member—from the security gate attendants, valet, front desk, concierge, bell desk, and housekeeping—has been so warm, professional and clearly well trained. I can’t wait to return with more free time to explore all The Broadmoor has to offer. Thank you to everyone on the team for this very special stay! Pro Tip: There is a hosted art tour every Tuesday at 10:30 starting at the main concierge desk. They also offer a beautiful color booklet which describes each work of art including its location on a resort map.

I tried calling to get my mom a gift card for the spa for her birthday. She lives near the hotel and they will only sell you a gift card for the spa if you're staying there. This was after getting two different stories and multiple times calling. For a 5 star hotel they have 1 class service.

When I walked into the door , felt like a queen entering her palace. The beauty of the place takes your breath away. The friendly, helpful staff at your beck and call at every corner. The chandeliers in every room along with live roses on every table to the rich Victorian style furnishings. Everything about the place was a work of art. Cheyenne lake sits in the center of the resort surrounded by the Rocky Mountains . The scenery was stunning . Multiple restaurants including 5 star chefs. Several shops. Infinity pool where they take care of your every need. Even housekeeping goes above and beyond. They folded our clothes on the bench seat . Everything about the place was perfect. We stayed in the lakeside suite overlooking the lake. It was fabulous. You have not experienced luxury until you have stayed at the broadmoor.

We paused at The Broadmoor to check in prior to heading up for a stay at their Ranch at Emerald Valley—a seriously memorable occasion in every way. But the check-in experience was memorable too, and less than perfect. We knew we were to head directly to the South Tower: headquarters for the hotel’s “Wilderness Experiences.” And so we informed the gatekeeper at the Lake Avenue entrance. “No. You go to the main entrance.” We demurred. “NO. Go as I said.” So we did, and waited and waited in line for the next desk clerk. Who happened to be Jazmin—sweet and efficient though she had to apologize twice for leaving us to secure our check-in docs and waivers for the high-country Ranch. We discovered the reason for the delays. We were told that we should have been directed to the South Tower (surprise!), and Jazmin had to dash back and forth from there to get our docs. Leslie, clearly the hotel’s traffic authority, showed the way to the South Tower where the valets took charge and all went well. She made our departure a few days later super-easy: the Ranch shuttle dropped us right at our car—an EV that had been fully charged (gratis) in our absence, and Leslie helped get our luggage in place. We’d arranged to have lunch with a friend prior to heading to the Ranch, and reserved a table at The Grille in the (opulent!) Golf Club. That venue, ultra-country-clubby in a swell retro way, suited us all just fine. Our attentive server, Austin, did well, the Compari-sodas slid right down, and the salads were up to scratch, except for my ahem rubbery shrimp.

Pros: Overall, very nice place. We were there for our anniversary and the hotel sent up complementary champagne and chocolate. We did the golf package, the courses are very nice and the scenery is amazing. Cons: 1. 20% Gratuity is included at all of the restaurants, the service really wasn't that good... 2. When paying that much to play golf, I don't expect to be playing with strangers. Putting two individual golfers with us is unacceptable and simply smells greedy on the resort's part. 3. The food is average, so well over priced. 4. two beers and a bag of chips on the course will cost you $25...
