The reviews are right about many things in regard to friendly staff, landscaped terraces etc. We were able to get a spot that was available just under a month! I was pretty excited based off the glowing report that a staff member told me their RV resort was considered the BEST in Colorado according to Campendium. We arrived only to find we were relegated to one of the spots right in front of the office so if you get spots 1-8 be prepared for a tight squeeze. Some reviews claim spaciousness of sites but it is NOT true with many of them. Yes, some are very nice but I also discovered that MANY RVers there are full timers (something I didn't know existed as we are mainly weekend to 1 week campers) It was quite strange to discover to say the least. Our site was no wider than 16ft, the firepit? what a joke. It consisted of a pile of rocks with no metal pan to protect from fire embers. (photo attached) No one used it because the weeds grew up around it and it wasn't in a convenient spot, it was on the far right hand corner at the entry to the site. The roads are not clearly marked I felt. At one point I found my self driving into an empty site with no where to go. They do have a nice little store and a pizza cafe with sandwiches, salads, etc. I am more disappointed by the fact I was led to think (based on pictures too) that each site was unique but when you are KOA close it takes ALL the fun out of camping! And I do find the place more like a KOA than a unique RV site. Also, last but not least, we heard large explosions in the distance all weekend. It is either due to the rock quarry down the road or some speculated that it could be coming from the military in Fort Carson so there's THAT! Not sure if I'll return.…
We spent a week there and really enjoyed it. Quit, tree covered. The spots are scattered and not right up against each other like a parking lot. Hate those kind. We had a large site. The row of sites we were in were all large. The WIFI was very good, if that’s important to you. One of only two campgrounds we’ve been in with good WIFI. The onsite pizza joint opened up our last day there. Call or text your order and they deliver it to your site. Will definitely stay again next time we are in the Colorado Springs area. Great staff.
We stayed at Mountaindale June 26 through July 2. The campground was very well kept, and the showers and laundry facility were clean. I would give the campground itself 5/5 stars. We had an issue the last day of our stay. I am not going to go into the details as it is long and boring, but it would be beneficial for the lady that was working the desk in the office to learn some basic customer service. The campground made a mistake with our reservation and a simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way with me instead of her getting defensive. Because of the issue I am giving Mountaindale 3/5 stars.
Wonderful RV park with some tiered sites with lots of space, shade, and wildlife as well. We really enjoyed our time here. Most of our 8 days here were was so quiet and peaceful. We are a big rig (40ft) and we had no problems pulling in even though there were lots of trees which are pretty well groomed. We were guided to our site which was was helpful. Internet was great; although phone service wasn’t so great, but they include instructions on how to make WiFi calls on your phone which worked fairly well. The best amenity of all, besides the wildlife wandering through the park, was the hot tub. In is enclosed in a fence and is available by reservation only. You can book it for an hour at a time and it is all yours! Why not a 5 star? Well that is because some of the long term residents, I think they may work at the park, like to crank up their music a bit. It was during the day, but the lyrics to some of the music was not appropriate and shouldn’t be blasted for all to hear. They also had friends arrive our last two days and they stayed in site 80 next to us. They had not only a camper van, but two other cars as well as a large tent on the site. They obviously knew the loud music crew. They were not overly loud but they had 4 dogs that were not kept on a leash and they wondered around including on our site. I thought dogs had to be on a leash!? They weren’t the most friendly dogs either and the wildlife disappeared after they arrived. There were way too many dogs and people for the site. Other than that, this place was amazing!…
We stayed there over Memorial Day weekend 2021. What a beautiful campground with very spacious sites. Lots of trees & privacy. If we travel to the Colorado Springs area again, we will be back! I wish all campgrounds were as nice as Mountaindale or even 1/2 as nice!
We loved this RV park. They led us right to our campground. The setting is beautiful, you can even have dinner delivered to your camp site. The management was excellent, neighboring campers were wonderful. We loved having deer and wild turkeys right outside our door. Bears can also be right there, but we were forewarned and didn't see any. Will come back again!
Mountaindale RV Resort holds the amazing beauty and splendor we think of when we hear Colorado. The campsites are clean and spacious. Natural rocks adorn each campsite. The cool night breeze is stayed by roaring campfires and quiet peacefulness. This campground is absolutely in my top 5 after 53 years of camping.
This is a lovely park located in the Rockies. The staff was accommodating, ready to help at any time, and the area was beautiful. There is a small store and a cafe that we didn't get an opportunity to try. The area we parked in was beautiful. There were lots of trees and a small hummingbird fed on flowers where we were parked all morning. It was a joy to watch. There are lots of places to walk and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Should we ever be in the Colorado Springs area again, we would definitely stay here.
Everyone on staff was so accommodating, this place is out of the way yet close enough to easy driving distance to shops, sights, restaurants and more. We purely enjoyed our stay in the Seclusion Cabin. Thanks everyone for making this a memorable stay.
We just arrived today so will add to this review after our stay. The park is ok. Not much grass but I think that might be the nature of the area. Almost all of the sites are spacious except for the ones in front. Of course we are in site #4. We are unable to put our dish up to get tvbecause of tree branches. I just saw baby deer so that was cool! The staff is super friendly!
