We booked our room at the last minute on a “passing thru” after a 8 day trip. We were just coddiewompling (no plan) so we got this room just hours before we arrived. This was during Covid so hotel closed at 5:00, we arrived late and left next morning so we never saw another person. And you know what? We loved that! They left us breakfast in our fridge and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The room was cozy and quaint and we opened the windows and listened to the coyotes howl at night! The next morning we had our coffee in the room watching sunrise over the quaking aspens! Even the drive up made us decompress as we saw abundant wildlife from marmots to elk on the scenic road in. It was perfect for us. Quiet and close to nature! Exactly what a getaway should be!…
It’s remote, it’s way out of even the small towns. Perfect. The room was fine. There’s not even a TV in the room which is OK with me. WiFi works, but no cell service with Verizon or T-Mobile. I hiked over to the small lakes nearby and saw 8 deer right on the road, and later in the trees. Dinner was alright. The soup was good. Dipped fries were excellent. But I would not recommend the pork tenderloin.
We were staying in one of the log cabine in the area and we had dinner at the lodge once. Staff is friendly and food is good Good local beer too. We had the New York strip and they propose 8 and 12 oz it’s a good idea Nice evening
Great spot up a 5 mile canyon road off the highway. Nice rustic lodge with a handfull of rooms. Our room had nice wood beams and a gas fireplace. Lodge has a nice restaurant and bar with friendly staff and really good food. This place is up in the mtns so no tv in the room, but there are tvs in the bar and community room. Nice warm pellet stoves in the lodge. Lots of groomed trails surround the place. Only critique would be that our bathroom was really tight, could be expanded a bit. But all was clean and nice hot shower.
I am going to tell you first off this is NOT your ordinary lodge it is a Mountain lodge. you have spotty cell service, but adequate wifi if you fell you must connect with the world If you are looking for a place that has wildlife this place has it. We arrived 9/20 and the elk where still bugling !!! Room was big and spacious bed was a little to soft for my wifes liking but I enjoyed it. and the colors on the aspen trees where amazing.
