I had a wonderful time at the ranch. From the accommodations, dining and overall experience. They chose a perfect horse for me. The scenery is beautiful. If you want to take a day off and explore there are many thing to explore. I highly recommend this ranch. The people and animals are all awesome. I hope to go back next year. It was great for a first time solo traveler.
Between the peace and serenity while riding in some of the prettiest scenery on the planet, wonderful accommodations, hanging out and helping out at the ranch with the horses, and the fellowship and laughs around the dining table with the host's of hosts, ranch hands, and a couple from the UK, the better half and I had a great time.
Badger Creek Ranch is an amazing place to visit. The owners make you feel like part of the family. It is a working ranch where you can move cattle to different fields and take long trail rides through the most beautiful scenery. The owners are extremely educated on ranching, sustainability and history of their ranch. They have cozy bunkhouses to sleep in and serve the most delicious meals. I highly recommend this ranch!!
So let's just start with the fact that we went to this ranch two times this year and that should speak for itself! We traveled to the ranch in late May/early June this year and fell in love with the atmosphere, the hosts, and the horses! While the weather was unseasonably cold and snowy for our trip in May, the hosts really helped us make the most of our trip. You are able to be as involved as you want to be. If you want to just show up and ride, you can, but if you want to help feed the pigs, check on the chickens, etc. you are more than welcome to. My husband and I tried to participate in everything at least once... The pigs are hilarious! Before we even left Colorado, we booked our next trip out there for July. This time the weather was gorgeous! While we were here, we moved the cattle to one of their farthest pastures, so we were in the saddle all day, enjoying the views and the surrounding nature (including a black bear!). Based on the two different experiences, I found that no two days are the same, even when you are dealing with the same cattle. This is what makes moving the cattle, exciting! You never know what's in store... Lastly, Natalie, Brian, Chrissy and Dave do such a great job of making you feel like you are at home and just another member of their family. If you are looking to wrangle some cattle with some pretty awesome people, this is definitely the place to go!…
6 of us arrived at the ranch to a warm greeting and the best experience that we could have hoped for. The horses were matched with each riders experience and level of ability, and then we were fitted with a saddle to match each rider and horse. The ranch hands and hosts could not have been more accommodating and helpful giving us the most amazing cattle ranch trip that we could possibly have wanted . The food was excellent served with the family and ranch hands in the western decorated dining area. We moved Scottish Highland cattle from one grazed pasture to another with fresh grass and water. Thanks so much to Brian, Natalie, Chrissy, Dave , Sam, Savannah , Bella and Becky for a wonderful ranch vacation GCC
