My wife and I spent 3 nights at Rio Celeste Hideaway at the end of July. Everything about the experience was top notch and we hated to leave. The way the hotel incorporates itself into the rainforest is highly unique. I was a little nervous about visiting in the rainy season, as the weather forecasts make it seem like it is a constant 80% coverage of storms. The weather was never like that and in fact the rain never got in the way of us experiencing the rainforest, waterfall, river, or the resort. The weather was quite clear most of the time. It was humid, but never hot. We were in room 7, which is on a little corner of the complex and the private balcony overlooking the rainforest was amazing - we couldn't even see another room if you tried. It was so peaceful to sit out and listen to all the birds. The room itself was great, bed a little on the hard side for our liking, but everything else about the room was wonderful - especially the bathroom with the outdoor shower. We booked a package that included all the meals and some activities. Nelson and Kathy were both great servers in the restaurant - and the food was very good. My wife an I both had 1 meal that was on the average side, but every other meal was wonderful. 7 out of 8 meals being great is pretty darn good. Have the green juice in the morning, it's delicious. The front desk and bellman were also great. The hotel is small enough that all of the staff knew who we were, which adds to the experience. When we checked in, they put together our full schedule for our trip. We got a private guide for a 3-hour hike to the waterfall and through the national park. Our tour guide was Bryan - highly recommend him. After a great tour with him, I requested him for a bird watching tour - despite a little fog I saw a huge number of birds. We also did the tubing down the river experience - highly highly recommend this. We did a couples massage after all the hiking and adventure. The 'spa' is really just a couples massage room, but perfect for how big the resort is. The massages were very good. I can't say enough about this place, I do hope to return some day. The staff and hotel are simply one of a kind. We saw so much wildlife including sloths and Toucans without even having to leave the resort. We didn't get to see a Tapir, so I guess that'll be a reason for going back.

Dear akaWhatever, Thank you for your kind words. We are glad that you had a great experience. Being a smaller hotel, we make sure that our clients have the best experience possible. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the room. Being a villa, it provides lots of privacy to our guests to be able to experience a truly relaxing experience. It gives the guests the opportunity to relax and take it easy any time of the day. It is great that you went to the park with Bryan and were able to see lots of birds. The 3-hour hike is really nice and allows you to see what the park has to offer. It is fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the massage after doing the activities during the day. We always recommend the tubing experience and can be purchased at the reception. We really appreciate your comments about our staff. They are making sure our guests have a great experience from the waiters at Restaurante Kantala to our receptionists and everybody in between. Beautiful Hotel and Great People I had a great experience at Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel. It was my first time in this hotel. Located in Rio Celeste National Park, it has so many amenities, like the pool, jacuzzis, and spa. I did two massages when I was there. When I ate in Restaurante Kantala, the pastas and the steaks were fantastic and my favorites. The servers Nelson and Christian took care of me and made me feel at home. The food is priced fine and includes a full menu. The Tapir Trail that leads to the on-property Rio Celeste river was very special. I did it every morning when I was there. It is great for a relaxing walk or to jog. The night tour was also a relaxing activity at night to end a busy day doing tours around the Hotel. From the moment I got there, it was a great experience. I even saw a tapir on the way there.

A beautiful hotel with great facilities and fabulous service. Loved the fact that the day before arrival, they messaged me with lots of helpful information about our stay and introducing themselves. All the staff were friendly and great with the kids. Location is perfect t for the Rio Celeste and has its own couple of short trails to the river. All rooms feel secluded and looking out on either gardens / rainforest so feels very tropical. Rooms also very comfortable and spacious. Pool warm with nice swim up bar. Pool table and other games to distract the kids too. Honestly couldn’t say a bad thing about the hotel. Would highly recommend and only wish we could stay longer!

Hands down, this was the best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. Everything and everyone was top-notch, and we felt so relaxed and immersed in Costa Rica nature the moment we arrived. We opted for the less expensive garden view room, and it was wonderful. We loved sitting on the outdoor patio. During our 2 night visit we saw lots of wildlife, and enjoyed the hotel's trails to the river as well as visiting the National Park's trails as well. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

This hotel was beautiful. The lobby, dining room and guest rooms were lovely. The room had a great deck and an outside shower. The pool was heated and had a swim up bar. We were there with our daughter and so we were very happy to see other families at the pool. It was pouring when we were there, and they took us to our room in a golf cart to help keep everything dry. They had umbrellas outside guest rooms also. The property has a trail to the river. You can go in the river at that location. If you want to see the waterfall, it is a short drive or a 20 min walk on a road with hills. The hotel did not seem to have a shuttle going to the falls (per our conversations with other guests). The only downside is that other than the river/waterfall there isn’t much around. We stayed for one night as we drove from Arenal to Monteverde. If you’re considering staying here- I’d highly recommend it.

Beautiful property, amazing location, and fabulous service! Cathy, Mariano, and Nelson were awesome and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves and taken care of. I had a massage by Juan Carlos, which was incredible. This is my second time at this resort and wouldn't miss the chance to stay here again in the future. You can literally walk right outside your door and go hiking on the beautiful trails and take a dip in the river. Five stars all the way across the board.
