My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. This hotel is truly a gem in the middle of the jungle. It is meticulously maintained and the grounds are gorgeous. It has an intimate feel which makes it very easy to get to know the staff and other guests. Even though it was sold out, it never felt crowded. The pool, the hot tubs and the restaurant always had plenty of space without waiting for anything. The food at the restaurant was excellent. There are many activities to do offsite which can be arranged by the hotel. We went zip lining, ATV riding, and hiked to the waterfall in Tenorio National Park. As beautiful as this place is and as wonderful as the food was - the absolute best part is the staff - Joshue, Christian and Katherinne were standouts. They were warm extremely friendly and over the top accommodating in every way. This is truly a special place and worth the visit!

One of the top three nicest hotels I've ever visited. Hideaway Rio Celeste was absolutely stunning from top to bottom, I only wish we had more time to stay. I had seen the property before and thought it was gorgeous, but was nervous to book a luxury hotel with an unpredictable, potentially crying, infant. Hideaway Rio Celeste was so welcoming to us, and happily provided a travel crib. First of all, the location itself feels like a private oasis and was the perfect halfway point between La Fortuna and Liberia Airport. There's not a ton around in terms of things to do and places to eat, but the hotel essentially provides fantastic options for all of that. We only stayed for one night but would definitely come back for longer in the future. The morning before our checkout, we hiked the hotel's exclusive trails to Rio Celeste and were able to swim in the gorgeous water (which you can't do if accessing the river from the National Park.) There were two difficulty options, and the Armadillo Trail was perfect for us with our infant in his carrier. We ate both dinner and breakfast (included) in the restaurant and it was wonderful. (They're also in the process of building a new Asian restaurant that it seems will be finished soon.) The wait staff was absolutely wonderful, the dinner entertainment was fantastic. Yes, the meal was a bit pricey but was fairly consistent with what we'd found for pricing throughout our stay in Costa Rica. We also had the best time watching the many, many exotic species of birds in front of the dining room window while we ate breakfast. We stayed in an absolutely stunning Garden View Casita. It was so private and so spacious. So many nice touches everywhere-- including a private viewing porch and an amazing outdoor shower. The beds were so comfortable, and the AC and water pressure were amazing. Again, just sad we didn't have more time to spend there. We'll be back!

We came here for our fiftieth wedding anniversary. Everyone at Hideaway did all that they could to make this a perfect trip! The room was beautiful, all of the services were top-rate, and the staff were great - friendly and helpful. We took several trips to Tenorio Volcano National Park. and a bird-watching expedition. Our guides were extremely well-prepared, knowledgeable and friendly. especially Felix! We also loved the trail that went from the Hotel to the Rio Celeste. If you want a trip where you can hike through the jungle to a beautiful river, then sit on your porch surrounded by greenery, and then go to the dining room for a gourmet meal, this is the place. Thank you. Hideaway. Pura vida!

My family and I stayed for three nights at the Hideaway and wished we could have stayed longer. The property is so well kept and absolutely beautiful. The rooms were large and made our family of four feel very comfortable. The food and drinks were all delicious, and had a large variety to fit everyone's tastes. The pool is the perfect size and has plenty of room to swim and hang out; and the swim up bar was a fun experience for the whole family serving fresh smoothies for the kids and great cocktails for the adults! But the most impressive part of the hotel is the exceptional staff!!! Every member of the staff greats you with a smile and goes above and beyond to make your stay special! We will definitely be back to this hotel!

This hotel and its entire staff are fantastic. Friendly, Professional, Attentive, Well Mannered. The best! The hotel itself is beautiful. Right in the middle of the Rain Forest. We saw so many beautiful birds while eating breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to whoever wants to stay in the Rain Forest of Costa Rica.

The hideaway hotel at Rio Celeste is a true gem of a place. The access to the river makes it 1000% worth the stay. The people working there really get to know you and are so kind and happy to accommodate your needs. Kathy, Cristian, Joselyn were some of the team members that really went out of their way to make it a wonderful and comfortable time for us. Our daughter was sick while we visited which was a major bummer but they made it as comfortable as possible for us and brought the meals to our room. Since we were limited in getting out we had to have all of our meals there. We longed for more local menu options such a chicken, rice and beans along with the international dining choices that they had. We also would have benefit from a thoughtful and published children’s menu. They said they could make plain pasta for her for example but then we were charged for a spaghetti like $12-$14, so really not needed for a 3 year old. Each time she ordered a Shirley temple we were charged $8 which again, just seems too high for a child’s soft drink. The breakfast which was included was very nice and the hot chocolate they serve in carafes is the best we’ve ever had. We did the zip lining tour which they charge $110+ per person and I recommend to book direct with the company instead if you have a car. There is only 1 zip lining company, Adventuras or something like that, in Rio Celeste area. The company charges $45 per person on their website so the price through the hideaway seems quite marked up, although understand they drive you there (25 mins) and there is a meal at the zip lining place included. My husband and I both got to experience their spa at the hideaway and we were really pleased. The sensual massage was very relaxing and my husband did one of the scrub, massage, facial packages and he loved it. The pool area was perfectly laid out and our daughter got to enjoy it on our last night there. During the day it seems they could use more than one person working the swim up bar as that person is also serving everyone in the area and there could be a long wait to get served. The game room was fun for the family as well. Overall I would highly recommend. Thanks Rio Celeste Hideaway for taking great care of us!

Dear Jessie O, We are delighted to hear that you found our resort peaceful and beautiful, thank you for sharing your experience at the Hideaway hotel with us. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the access to the rio celeste river through our private armadillo and tapir trails and that our team members, including Kathy, Cristian, and Joselyn, made your visit special by going further to accommodate your needs. We really appreciate your kind words about their hospitality and are glad to know that they were very helpful as your daughter recovered. We have taken note of your comments on food options and prices for the children’s menu, and we will certainly review and improve our offers for childrens in the future. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed our fresh breakfast included and the delicious hot drinks that the guys prepare every morning with much love. We understand your concerns about the tour price and will take them into account, certainly as you mentioned our price includes the round trip transportation, typical lunch in the place as well as the fun activity of zip lining on the celestial river. We are delighted to know that your family has enjoyed the games room, you and your husband the relaxing spa experiences and that your daughter has had the opportunity to enjoy the pool on her last night. Thank you for highly recommending Rio Celeste Hideaway, and for allowing us the opportunity to take care of you during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you soon for another Hideaway experience. Rachell Calvo, Guest Experience Associate Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel

Our family of 4 (teen kids) enjoyed our two nights at this resort! Pool and hot tub with swim up bar was perfect to lounge in after a long day of travel. As other reviews mention, drinks and food on property are expensive. The food we had for dinner was actually not very good, which was super disappointing given the price point. I only ate half my fish meal and the waiter asked how I liked it and I said i didn’t, it was super dry, and he just said thank you, Pura Vida. Ha. I was surprised by the lack of English some servers spoke. Breakfast was fine. Most staff were pleasant and went above and beyond, but we did encounter two servers that really felt like they were not thrilled to be there. Maybe they were having a bad day, but it was noticeable. We had many activities recommended to us, but the only “activity” we did while here was to go the national park. I saw several different tours of the park, but they were all hundreds of dollars per person, and then I read a review that said you don’t need a tour - and boy was that spot on! I went on the website of the national park (provided by the hotel), and bought 4 tickets for the park. I coordinated a taxi with the front desk, and off we went. There is literally one path, so it wasn’t like it was hard to navigate without a guide. The River, waterfall and pools were beautiful, and I’m glad we did it that, as opposed to a tour. We also hiked on the hotel property to swim in the river - and that was probably the highlight of our time in Rio Celeste. We booked the hotel late, so we had to book two rooms, which was expensive. I spoke with another family that said they had one kind bed and the a separate room with two beds for the kids - which sounded ideal to me. The property only has like 22 rooms or something like that, so I’d suggest booking early so you get the choice of accommodation for your family. All in all, it was a great place to start our 9 day vacation.

An amazing experience in every way. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Also incredibly attentive in helping us book activities and dinner reservations. Room was nice (if anything more space than we needed) and quiet. Restaurant was amazing and the pool was great. Our kids also enjoyed the game room and played pool with other kids. I could not recommend enough.
