This is a comfortable, quiet, beautiful campground. Facilities are typical KOA, and very clean and neat. The views of the Collegiate Peaks are the grandest feature. Unlike most campgrounds, it is off a dirt road so little road and no train noise. Will return.

When you drive in to kindly ask to pay $15 to dump you do not need a bitter older woman grumpily pointing in the direction of the station and saying and don't leave your trash, we have enough of our own. I say have a nice day! Camp at the VFW just down the road. They are nice.

We allow non guests to use our dump station, but our cost to have it pumped out keeps increasing, and we've had a lot of problems with folks carelessly letting waste spill on the ground, then leaving without cleaning up. More

We stayed here on the last night of our Epic National Parks Adventure. It wasn't the best KOA of our trip (that one was in Williams, AZ), but it was still amazing! They had pedal cars, a playground, and the indoor hangout space has a pool table, ping-pong table, tv and a place to enjoy the in-house made pizza. The... More

I have lost count on how many Kampgrounds and how many different states I've tented at, but I appreciate the reliability and amenities before and after backcountry pursuits. This one in particular is in a great location with an outstanding view.

Very clean facilities and great service. Completely impressed with this KOA. We had a cabin, with full bed and bunk beds. We arrived late but everything was ready for us. Well stocked store, very nice playground and dog park area. One of the best KOAs we've stayed in. So many thoughtful, little touches...hummingbird feeder on our cabin porch, flowers outside... More

When I was stationed in Michigan, I was sent to Afghanistan and planned to visit Colorado upon return. While in Afg I was looking at web sites, etc., came across this KOA and read some negative reviews. Pictures looked great, so I said "damn the torpedoes" and we traveled with truck, trailer, and ATVs from Michigan to Colorado, stayed at... More

Best place for camping in the local area. Amazing views, friendly hosts, great campsites, pet friendly, full hookups and the best views from tent camping sites. Worth the stay if you are in the area. Wish we stayed there when we moved to a campground in salida.

My husband and I visit Buena Vista once a year and have made it a habit to stay here. I absolutely love the cabins and the view is incredible. We've stayed at quite a few KOAs and this is by far our favorite.

I camp about 5 to 6 times per summer/fall and rarely stay at a campground - usually find a spot off a Forest Service road all to ourselves. But on a 3 day trip in late August, I wanted a place to stay with showers near Buena Vista and had recalled many years past staying in a KOA cabin. So... More

This is my go-to campground in the Buena Vista area whether I want a weekend to relax in the mountains or to visit the surrounding areas. St. Elmo's, Salida, and Buena Vista proper aren't that far away and there's so much to do in this area, the campground is just a perfect home base. There's a lot of negative reviews... More
