Made reservations a month or so in advance and manager recommended a log house. At $175 per night plus for four nights I was excited to go to a new place! Watch out! This log house was NOT CLEAN and equipped with spiders in shower, on pillow of our bed, and webs so bad you could not open the windows...

My daughter and I were lucky to book a last minute weekend at Rainbow Lake Resort. I understand why people keeps visiting this place year after year. The road that takes you to the resort is pretty and far enough out of town that you're close enough if you forgot something or want to eat dinner in Buena Vista. The...

Rainbow Lake Resort is not to be missed. Even if you are not an avid outdoorsman this resort will make you consider becoming one. Cabin options range from rustic with minimal conveniences to more of a modern experience with no "roughing it" included. All cabins and lodge rooms have power and indoor plumbing on a septic system with basic kitchen...

My Mom used to come here as a child. For the past 9 years we have been meeting my family from Texas here for a little family reunion. This place is absolutely magical. It is one of my favorite places on earth. No T.V. Extremely limited phone reception. Just nature at its finest. Very rustic -- not luxurious. But you...

This resort has been operating since 1906. There are older cabins and newer cabins. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin behind the lodge face. It is clean, modesty priced with a porch that you can view the night sky and overlook the small trout lake. Bring your rods and reels and lures and fish your day away. No swimming...

We have been staying here since 1989. We live in the Denver Metro area and love fishing and hiking. This place is a great place to hide away, fish, have peace and quiet and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. In fact, this place is less money than the Super 8 and or Best Western hotel in...

Rainbow Lake Resort has a number of cabins to meet your specific needs - smaller quaint cabins for couples or singles to larger accommodations for families or groups. This review is specific to the "Bonanza" cabin we stayed in; as well as the overall resort. Firstly, make your reservations early on the resort's easy to use website - as cabins...

We stumbled onto this place driving to Cottonwood Pass. Best ever!! The private lake was teeming with fish, the management (Patricia and Rocky) was super friendly and helpful, and the cabins were very clean and spacious with everything you could need. Already re-booked for next year! Definitely take the walk around the lake as well as the Colorado Trail hike.

Stayed in one of the cozy little cabins. Simple, clean and comfortable. Amazing setting by a private lake and tree lined mountainside. Perfect for fishermen or anyone seeking a peaceful, rustic getaway. Only regret was we were only able to stay 2 nights. Hopefully we'll be back for a more extended stay.

We were passing through on our motorcycle and stayed in an extremely clean rustic cabin on a beautiful wooded lake. We saw deer and hummingbirds galore. Fishing was amazing and decided to try. A big thank you to manager Rocky for making it happen. His friendly and helpful ways will be our best memory along with our tasty trout dinner....
