During our 12 day mountain adventure, between Vail and Breckenridge, we stayed at the Mountain Valley Lodge on three different occasions. We spent two nights in a two bedroom unit with in room laundry facilities with a great view of the mountains. Next, we spent two nights in a one bedroom, two bath unit with a great view of Maggie lake and the town plaza. Our last night was spent in an efficiency which was comfortable but too small for my liking. The staff was extremely accommodating and professional. Free parking is available underground and the whole town is within easy walking distance.

This is a timeshare property and we have owned a studio here for years. We also own 3 other much bigger timeshares in other parts of the country, which we frequently exchange. However, this one is our favorite and we use it every year for a skiing vacation. We love the location of the resort - true ski in/out - you only need to go through Charter Sports downstairs, cross a bridge and up a small hill to be right at the base of the Quicksilver lift at peak 9 (less than 5 minutes walk). From the top of the lift, we usually ski down to the Mercury lift and then enjoy wide blue groomed trails or we go from Mercury to the Falcon lift by Briar Rose or Upper Lehman which takes us to more challenging terrain on peak 10. In our opinion Peaks 9 & 10 are the least crowded and offer a good mix of intermediate and advanced terrain. The restaurant by the Falcon lift- Ten mile station - has a lovely authentic mountain lodge atmosphere and a good mix of food options including vegan (impossible burger, vegan soup, French fries) - but be prepared too pend $$$. The way back to the resort is even easier - we just ski all the way down almost to the bottom, past the beginner area we take a shortcut to the right, we go over the bridge on skis (snow allowing) right to the door of the ski rental place where we leave our gear for the night. By the way, Charter Sport located at the property is a great place to rent your gear - you get a discount and you only pay for the days you ski. You can change your skis or boots if you don't like them and all the staff members there are extremely nice. After a day of skiing, we either cook our meals in the room or we walk to town - there's a shortcut by the pool that puts you right on Main Street. We like to eat at Pho Real (hole in the wall but good pho) or at Bangkok Happy Bowl Thai Bistro (both have vegan options). We also enjoy the daily complimentary activities offered here, including different themed socials although they usually lack vegan options (wine and cheese, hot chocolate, nachos, grilled cheese) and fitness activities - yoga with Tracy 3 times a week was wonderful and so helpful after a day of skiing. The studio units themselves are more than adequate for a couple and include a comfortable bed, a sofa, a big table and a well equipped kitchen. We never had any issues with the cleanliness, hot water is adequate and there is a towel/trash service mid week. Covered parking garage in the basement is very convenient and although a bit tight, we always find a space. Just enter the garage and follow the signs to your building. We also use the garage to move between different buildings to avoid going outside. The fitness center and fitness activities are located at the Downhill building while the social activities are usually in the Eagle building. We probably stayed in all the buildings at one point or another and there were all good. The only time we were not happy with our room, we were on ground floor (which felt more like basement) next to a busy path. We learned our lesson and requested a higher floor the following year. We didn't use the pool or hot tubs this time but we enjoyed it in the past. The staff and management are polite and professional - during this stay the room wasn't ready at 4 pm so they offered us complimentary beers while we waited. They also call and check to see if there are any concerns. For groceries, you can drive 5 min to the City Market in town, although we usually drive 20 min to Whole Foods in Frisco to get more specialty vegan items. Overall, we always look forward to coming here and even after more than 10 years, it is still a favorite.

We stayed in a studio. It was fine with a decent kitchen and plenty of area. The thing I didn’t like was that the ceiling was only about 7 foot high. If you are tall or claustrophobic it was a little uncomfortable. Staff was helpful and very professional. They even offered specials for breakfast and evening snacks. Worth a try. It is hard for me to imagine a better location. It is right at the lift and at the end of Main Street. Loved it!!! Would definitely stay again winter or summer.

We have just returned home after staying at the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge at Peak 9, Breckenridge. We greatly enjoyed our tine at the resort. It has an excellent location, right at the base of Peak 9, very convenient to restaurants, shops and there is a supermarket only 5-10 mins walk away. We had a Queen Studio room with a Balcony and had amazing views directly over the mountain side. There is a sofa bed in the room, as well as a kitchen and a decent sized bathroom, free laundry and ski hire downstairs at the base of the mountain where we received great service. The studio was well appointed and very comfortable. It would have been a bit squashed with more than 2 adults, maybe ok for 2 adults and a child but everyone has different things they are willing to compromise on. For us it was very comfortable and the service in the hotel was excellent. Over the course of the week the front office staff got to know us and would always say hello to me as I walked past. There are a number of activities available in the resort for people who aren't skiing and in the evenings even for those who are...some of these are complimentary and others are at a cost. We were there to ski, so didn't take any of these up. There is also an extensive video library for movies if desired. There is a different breakfast theme every day @ only $7.00 per person. We tried this on the first day but didn't really rate the breakfast that highly so we then went to the supermarket and bought some provisions for the other days and just ate in our room. Magnificent views, excellent location, comfortable and excellent service. We would definitely go back!
